Readers of all ages will take a thrilling ride in a time machine to the past when dinosaurs lived - a ride not through millions of years, but to a time not so long ago! Filled with stunning artwork, this fun family book will transport you on a breathtaking journey through the "time-gate" of the Bible, the true history book of the universe! This captivating adventure by popular writer Ken Ham projects you back to the Garden of Eden and to the real world inhabited by dinosaurs - and to the exciting days of Noah's flood and the Tower of Babel. You'll be there watching...traveling through the centuries...learning the true history of the earth, and along the way discovering the very meaning and purpose of life!
Dr. Ken Ham is the president of Answers in Genesis USA and is a well-known speaker and author on the subject of Young-Earth Creationism. He received a bachelor degree in applied science (emphasis on environmental biology) from the Queensland Institute of Technology, and a Diploma of Education from the University of Queensland. He has also received two honorary doctorates: a Doctor of Divinity from Temple Baptist College, and a Doctor of Literature from Baptist Liberty University.
He was a director of Creation Science Foundation (CSF) in Australia, an organization which he jointly founded with John Mackay. In 1987 he moved to the United States, still maintaining his links with CSF.
From 1987 to 1993, Ham worked for the Institute for Creation Research, and in 1994 set up what in 1995 became Answers in Genesis (AiG), a creation ministry dedicated to "upholding the authority of the Bible from the very first verse."
In 2008 Ham was described by well known atheist and evolutionary biologist PZ Myers as a "Wackaloon" for carrying out a prayer session with members of the Pentagon. Ham responded regarding the validity of that prayer breakfastand that PZ Myers and other critics were intolerant of his position.
In looking at some of the science materials a few of my homeschooling friends have recently used, I came across the book "Dinosaurs of Eden". It's from the folks at Answers in Genesis ( http://www.answersingenesis.org/ ), who publish through Masterbooks / New Leaf publishing Group.
I'm speechless.
Then again, commentary is unnecessary -- I'll just give some excerpts straight from the book.

P6: Studying God's Word is the only way we will know the truth about the past concerning dinosaurs.
P10: God worked for six days (when He created everything) and rested for one. This is where our seven-day week comes from! If God created everything in six long periods (or millions of years), our week would be millions of years long! That wouldn't make any sense whatsoever.
P11: We can say 100 percent, absolutely for sure, that people lived with dinosaurs! The reason we can be so sure is that God, who doesn't tell a lie, told us in His Word that land animals and Adam and Eve were made on the sixth day of Creation!
P15: The country of Wales has the picture of a dragon on its flag. Maybe the story about St. George fighting a dragon is really an account of a fight with a dinosaur!
P18: Now this may come as a surprise, but we do know what T. rex ate originally -- and it wasn't animals or people. It was plants.
P29: The obvious deduction from the Bible, therefore, is that dinosaurs went on Noah's Ark! Of course, some people say things like, "but dinosaurs died out millions of years ago." But they couldn't have, as death, bloodshed, disease, and suffering came into the world only after Adam sinned. Remember, Adam was created on Day 6 alongside all the land animals, including dinosaurs, only about 6,000 years ago.
P49: Why don't the evolutionists find transitional forms between dinosaurs and birds? Because there are none! Also, the Bible tells us that birds were created on the fifth day. Dinosaurs were not created until the sixth day.
P50: Our very nature is such that we don't really want to listen to God's Word. That's why we are so easily led astray by evolutionists teaching such things as millions of years of history. Down deep in our hearts, we would rather listen to the fallible scientists' opinions than the clear Word of God.
P52: Young people often ask the question, "If there's so much evidence for the Flood all over the Earth, and if it's so obvious God created and the Bible is true, wouldn't the scientists surely believe these things?" The answer is that scientists, like everyone else, are sinners. Because of this, they don't want to believe. It has nothing to do with the evidence.
P57: At this stage, everyone reading this book should be asking the question, "Where am I going to spend eternity?" Did you know that thinking back over all we've learned about dinosaurs helps us answer the question?
"The reason most scientists don't know what happened to the dinosaurs is because they've been brainwashed to believe in "molecules-to-man" evolution. Ham constructs dozens of straw men, then proceeds to boldly knock them all down with... THE BIBLE!
This is a good presentation for kids that answers from a creation viewpoint lots of questions about dinosaurs. It fit well with beginning our studies in Genesis and history in our ancient history school year. The inclusion of the pictures of the kids going back in time on every page was a bit hokey, but in general the artwork was good--lots of different labeled dinos on each page. The writing was a bit wordy at times for kids...definitely need to break it up into 4-6 page reading sections. I'm so glad we included this in our Bible time. It gives a Gospel presentation very clearly to the children.
I continued to see images from this book across the inter-webs. It is lavishly illustrated with images of the Garden of Eden and dinosaurs. My curiosity was spiked so I found the book on Amazon for $6.01 with shipping and I am thoroughly entertained.
I am glad to own a copy of this book because Dinosaurs of Eden, like the subject matter, is destined to become extinct. I do love the illustrations in this book. They are easily worth my money. The illustrations of the Dinosaurs themselves are potentially educational but I suspect that even some of these have been misinterpreted.
Dinosaurs of Eden is, of course, a Creationist view of the Garden of Eden, human nature and natural history. I am, perhaps sadly, uninformed about Creationism but believe that Creationist would claim that I have been brain washed by public education. However, I feel safely brain washed knowing that millions of others, in my generation alone, have received this same public education.
I will not use this forum to debate the facts of Natural History or the literal interpenetration of the Bible. But, I must question the idea that Dinosaurs of Eden has any educational value as a text book for home schooling unless the subject being taught is objectiveness and creative thinking.
This book is perfect for the parents who are searching for a very clear explanation of creation and where dinosaurs fit in that picture. It is well illustrated and full of fascinating dino-information. Parents, you will enjoy this book as well.
This book is required for our curriculum next year as a read aloud, but I wanted to read it myself. Never can I pass up a good dinosaur book from a Christian worldview. (Read my first few back in 2017 and it just clicked—finally everything started falling into place logically.)
This book has stunning illustrations; however, it wouldn’t say this book is primarily about dinosaurs though it is a theology of dinosaurs—meaning it shows a biblical understanding of dinosaurs from Genesis to Revelation in creation, fall, and redemption. The book emphasizes mainly the affects and consequences of sin and the hope of Christ and how dinosaurs specifically were affected by the fall.
This book does not skimp on the gospel or clarity. It provides easy to ask questions for children and thinking points rooted in logic. I definitely would recommend this book to parents who have a dino-lover or are intimidated to teach their children about dinosaurs. Parents will be massively helped with just having a framework and verbiage to use when talking with their children—and even refreshed to see the dots connect in their own mind since dinosaurs are only ever taught in a factual, unwavering, “do not question” path of evolution in schools.
Great book for those desiring a Christian worldview from the inerrant and infallible word of God.
This is a Biblically sound and interesting look at the truth about dinosaurs. I found the illustrations to be absolutely gorgeous - lots of wonderful pictures of dinosaurs for your dinosaur loving kids!
In this book, you will learn interesting facts such as:
*Why then do we not find the word “dinosaur” in the Bible?
*What dinosaurs originally ate according to the Bible
*Why did animals like the T. Rex have fierce looking sharp teeth if they were vegetarians?
*Why did animals change from being vegetarians into carnivores? What event took place that changed everything?
*How did the dinosaurs fit on the ark?
This book goes on to refute evolution and gives vivid pictures and descriptions and arguments of why this is false thinking.
The book ends by taking our earth full circle - from creation and the future new earth and what that might look like. It also shares the message of hope when Jesus came down to earth to sacrifice himself for our sins so that we may have eternal life.
This is a must for every child in a Christian home to read! This will make a wonderful addition to your home library and I’m glad I have put it in mine.
Ken Ham once again goes on to push his assertion "Science is Wrong because the Bible says so." Which totally contradicts any sense of scientific conclusions which are all about questioning things with findings, evidence and experimentations. Religion cannot be mixed into this as it's a persoanl thing alluding to faith and revelation. Ham may do all he can to assert his "Missionary Lizards" (what he calls Dinosaurs) as God's Creation, but it doesn't stack up to anything that's been further proven; 'Dinosaur bones have NEVER been found in an among remanants of old humans.' This is utter insanity to try and incorporate random supernatural interventions into the natural world. If you teach this as a possibility, then predictions and extrapolations are no longer possible and you can’t trust the data.
The book is full to the brim of images that don't make sense, but under Ham's instructed assertions to try to make us 'beleieve' it does "make sense." All in trying to normalize ideas that don't make sense; i.e. carnivous dinosaur once being vegetarian before "Adam's Sin", give me a break...
Good book about dinosaurs from a young earth creationist perspective. Also covers ancient Biblical history and the gospel. I wasn't thrilled with the illustration of Jesus in a kinda-sparkly robe near the end of the book, but the rest of the illustrations were nice.
Annoyed by the constant comparison of Hebrew and Greek, but otherwise, this is a great book explaining creation, the flood, dinosaurs, and even salvation. Nice illustrations too!
