The saga of Nate the cheat potion maker continues!

My place in this world slowly reveals itself to me. Unfortunately, I’m constantly reminded just how magicians truly screwed this place up. The Lord Ruler serves as one of the kingdom’s major problems, though there could be more to it.
Tasks: rank up the shop and town, adapt to my ever-increasing strength, and hey, there are foes that are seriously strong out there.
So many things happen in my growing tale this time around. Sit. I shall continue…

Novel contains: Strong MC in a slice of life environment, dungeon diving, boss battles, cultivation and elements, mana/magic, mc exclusive system but it doesn't do the work for him, treasures, adventurers, slow world building, build-up, features that will not be introduced all at once (upgrades so on), actual good loot at the end of very powerful bosses, romance(no harem). As characters develop throughout the series, issues and emotions and even the mc may find himself in a corner or two. A story of an upcoming potion shopkeeper and his apprentices.

Building an S-ranked Potion Shop is easier said than done...

This is third in the series. Read them in order.

Okay, you still know what you're getting. And it's still as enjoyable. And can I just say, belatedly, how much I love the spirit animals? Particularly how they address each other with the endearments their humans use for them? The fierce wolf guardian is "Master's Buddy, Wolverine, Mistress's Lovey Cuddle Muffin, Woofy". Surprisingly, to me at least, this is not getting old.

This one has some major developments and I'm totally good with it. It ends on a high-point with appropriate climax and all, but mid travel so still a little abrupt. And I hate that I caught up to the publication so now I have to wait for the next like a schlub. Sigh. Five stars for the number of things that should have gotten old that just haven't.

A note about Chaste: It's totally straining credulity to still not be sleeping together. And I can't wait to meet Milia's parents pre-wedding. But it's still just kissing and still subverting the harem trope. Which is totally chaste and I'm liking it as a thing.

Honestly the MC ruins the whole thing!

Ok so the story is very very good. The characters make you care and the storyline really keeps you in suspense. However the absolute worthless MC that constantly says he doesn't want to fight but (he will do what needs to be done) yet at every turn fails to do what needs to be done is just infuriating! The MC is a self inflicted moron. I just can't say enough about how weak willed and sad he is. I really wanted to like this book cause the storyline is great But the MC is worthless. Don't bother with this one if you enjoy intelligent MCs.

Okay just let me start by saying I kind of feel sorry for the heroes party. I mean Nate is 1 thing but imagine that feeling when a cat is stronger than you Lmfao!!!

I loved the first book in the series felt that the second was a bit lacking. This third installment was just an amazing improvement that hit all the right Notes.

The hilarious system that has to fuck with the MC whenever he just wants to do his own thing. The Pets are awesome and add a lot to the story and hilarity that this series gives you.

The nonstop nobles that just seem to want to beg the MC to kick their ass and then vanish saying I don't want to fight. Just epic.

Nate’s making some questionable choices, IMHO

The biggest question that I have is why doesn’t Nate seem to be curious to see if he can create spirit coins? He has broken nearly every other rule, and the only description that we have of them is coins of metal full of mana. Since he’s already infusing mana into his land, why can’t he have Lucas make him some blanks and try to infuse them to make his own coins?

I’m not sure why Nate is so convinced that he’s unqualified to lead? I mean, it’s not like elected officials necessarily have great qualifications. And he knows himself enough to realize that what he doesn’t know, he can find a qualified advisor to help with. Perhaps he needs Uncle Ben to remind him that ‘with great power comes great responsibility’ - he has the power, and is actively training that power, but is also actively denying the responsibility it entails.

This winds about but at no time is directionless.

This utilizes tropes without relying on them, something that most find very hard to do. A solid slice of life with good character work and a very interesting world build.

At my request I received a copy of this audiobook in order to give a fair and unbiased review

Genre: LitRPG fantasy with romance and society building
Explicit/adult material: None.

Summary
Nate is settling in as potion maker, but as always the system and surrounding nobles have plans of their own. The lord ruler and his daughter are in the area and can't seem to leave well enough alone.
The low rank of the town is also holding back the shop and will have to be worked on.

Narration
Voice diversity: Good. So good. Every character has their own distinct voice and that voice is clearly a match for their personality and background.
Pacing and intonation: Very good.
Matt Hicks and Allie Piper does it again. Fantastic narration!
Overall: 5 / 5 stars.

The book’s strengths.
- Fantastic narration
- The characters are likeable and distinct.
- The book is fun, exciting, relatable and despite the wishes of the main character and epic fantasy adventure.
- I enjoy the focus on upgrading the shop and the town
- I absolutely love the pets and how they are used and their role in this story.
- No seriously. Those pets.

The book’s weaknesses.
- Great book, I can't think of anything

Overall: 5/5 stars
The series continues being absolutely amazing. Looking forward to seeing where this goes!

Rise of the Cheat Potion Maker: 3
Continues where the last book left off. Nate continues to level up and improve, stubbornly refusing to set feet on the heroic path the System/Wanda keeps trying to lure/pressure him onto. I really thought this was a trilogy and was counting down the % complete to the end with more and more things left undone, but it turns out there is to be a sequel. This story might never end. The author seems to be struggling with his main character being very powerful yet in order to challenge him, needs to drum up yet more powerful foes. At some point, it's going to reach a ridiculous level of unbelievable. Writing quality is still solid, though the story itself is a bit repetitive with details. Rounding up from 3.5

More magic than a Magician is this 'Mere' Potion Maker

Nate begins a 'Secret Clan' with his Apprentices, the Heros became his Deciples, and his Betrothed and friends. To call him a Mete Potion Maker lowers his abilities, but keeping them secret from a 'F'd' up world with magicians that believe might is right. All he wants is to make potions and live a peaceful life, but the God's refuse to give him that life with the quests he is given.

Very fun book to read of a group of friends doing the best they can to fight off evil by learning to make potions and fight with/ without magic.

I can't believe I'm enjoying a book with such a cover so much.
At first I was happy that the book was so long, an while I did enjoy it, I didn't like that it ended on a semi-cliffhanger.

This book is like a gateway drug. After sampling it, you think to yourself "that isn't so bad, and maybe those other anime-esque books that looked like, and had blurbs that read like trash, might not be so bad".
Then you end up in a spiral reading trash looking for a gem.
Luckily that won't work on me.

I hope there aren't more diversions and delays next book to stretch the story (like a bad anime).

Audio: 5 Stars -These 2 narrators are amazing! There are TONS of characters, andthey voiced them incredibly, specially the male narrator.

Story: LOVED the first one, this one is ok BUT getting a bit tired of the full "copy/paste" reading of screens rather than focusing on the specific entry which is going to be upgraded or new. I do understand that sometimes reading the "full" screen is necessary but not EVERY time. This makes the book unnecessarily long. Also the "political" parts are getting too much attention for my taste. I wanted an Alchemist story. However, I will continue the series. Hopefully, the following books are not focus on that. Onto my next adventure, Happy Readings!!!!

excellent third book in this installment.

I’ve loved the premise of the series a man taken out of time, placed on another world, who is not going to bow to the system. It is basically a slice of life book with some action thrown in. Interesting POV’s from the MC as well as the animals who are enlightened. Good action sequences, good story development as well as good world building. The MC is very likable as well as his attending cast of characters. Now I have to find something else to read while waiting for the next book.

I am not a huge light novel fan, but I did enjoy the first 2 books and thought I would pick this one up. The same thing happened to me while reading this book as the others. I started off a little bored, wondering if a made a mistake picking it up. Then after a couple of hours I got into the flow again. I like the characters, the idiosyncrasies. Things that I might normally find annoying, I find endearing. I love it when Chetara say's "Big brother Wolfie". Overall, still an enjoyable listen and I am looking forward to the next one.

I really like this I would not really call it LitRPG but Progression suits it better. On the other hand it does have all the Anime Tropes anyone who likes Anime will love. So I really like the over the op power and the companions.
Now about "The Lord Ruler" this third book in the series follows and the accomplishments of both Nate and the companions come following lots of action which is fun to read through. But the best Boss fight on this one is definitely meeting the "Lord Ruler". So get to it, pick up the series and enjoy!

My Rating System:
5- Perfect for my taste, I could not physically stop reading/listening and wanted more afterward.
4- Almost perfect, could not stop reading/listening, probably wanted more afterward.
3- I enjoyed the book and could see others loving it, I need to think if I want more.
2- I can see why others might like the book, but I could not, I do not want more.
1- What is this? What went wrong? Why did they do this? This doesn't make any sense! (No idea who it is for, but definitely not for me).

wow, just wow

Such a fantastic continuance of Nate’s path for a peaceful life of potion making and relaxing with his soon to be wife. I am really enjoying the longer format of Alvin Atwater’s books. This series is both alike and different from his other book series and shows the growth and dedication he has experienced in creating awe inspiring stories that are both relatable and exceedingly enjoyable. I am most definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.

A good, fun read.

I'm really enjoying this series. As promised, the problematic tropes of the genre are being deliberately avoided. It's very refreshing.

I will say the the repetition of the notifications the MC is receiving is a little much sometimes, but it is nice that we get reminded what everything is. I always just skip the reminders if I already know.

I liked how we got some more perspectives this book.

Keep up the good work, I'm excited for the next one!

Progress on a chosen path

The system in this series has tried to coerce Nate into becoming a politician or hero, but it seems to me that his choice and adamance to his potion maker class is a solution to most of the challenges he seems to be destined to face. I love the familial relationships developing. Even annoying characters are changing. The Ruler's blindness to his daughter is confusing. I really hope to read more in this series for a long time.

A Great Series

Nate continues to grow in power. This is a good thing since he keeps getting entangled with powerful enemies. Nate, in his Raider persona, interferes with Lord Ruler harming some of his friends. Battle ensues. I like the action, humor, intrigue, and romance. I look forward to the next book. It will be very interesting situation when Nate finally meets his bethrothed's, Milia's, family.

Good Book.

This was a good book, but the main character is constantly been told that he is so powerful and all this, but more than half the enemy’s he ran into seems to be more powerful than him, so it’s just doesn’t quite add up. This just goes to show that more than half the worlds true power is hidden from the general populace. I am sure this is all just part of the storyline.

So much for peace

I am so with Nate, People Give Peace A Chance. In a world full of powerful psychotics with anger issues what is a peace lover to do? Give them a beat down until they crawl away or waste them. So annoying. At least they're good for leveling if nothing else. You gotta love the spirit animals and books. Real characters.

Not original but good.

This series is slowly getting better. The constant griping of the MC finally lessening and the obstacles in his path finally presenting some challenge. With those improvements and the good cheracter writing that I started reading this series for this is a rare example of an series that actually gets better instead of going stale in the third installment.

Great buildup!

I’m loving this series. Great MC, whose in denial about becoming a hero. He is noble but not a pushover. It’s funny how much in denial he’s in but it’s great watching him find his way in his new world. I definitely recommend the series and look forward to the next book.

Entertaining

There were some noticeable grammatical errors in this book, be warned.

This story continues to evolve as literary anime. Some twists and turns to help an overarching plot line, but no definitive plot for this actual book, unless randomly helping more and more strangers WAS the plot.

I feel Nate's energy. I love that no matter how much the ridiculous system tries to force him into the mirderhobo douche he just won't do it!! Way to go! The character development is really enjoyable. Even minor characters get a full treatment and that is really a surprise that makes this light novel very entertaining. I can't wait to see where the author takes Nate next.
