Among the greatest topics of conversation - and obstacles for spiritual seekers - are those "hard-to-answer" questions relating to the Bible. Things And yes, if Adam and Eve really existed as Genesis tells us, and they had no parents . . . did they have bellybuttons? Actually, it's a good question, and one that deserves discussion, for people all over the world today are searching for the answers to life's questions. We wonder about our origins, purpose, and destiny. Now, thanks to the efforts of Ken Ham and Answers in Genesis, over 100 questions people have about the Bible have been answered for this book. The brief-but-insightful questions are followed on each page by a concise answer taken straight from a plain reading of the Bible. This unique format makes the perfect gift for a friend grappling with questions we assumed didn't have answers!
Dr. Ken Ham is the president of Answers in Genesis USA and is a well-known speaker and author on the subject of Young-Earth Creationism. He received a bachelor degree in applied science (emphasis on environmental biology) from the Queensland Institute of Technology, and a Diploma of Education from the University of Queensland. He has also received two honorary doctorates: a Doctor of Divinity from Temple Baptist College, and a Doctor of Literature from Baptist Liberty University.
He was a director of Creation Science Foundation (CSF) in Australia, an organization which he jointly founded with John Mackay. In 1987 he moved to the United States, still maintaining his links with CSF.
From 1987 to 1993, Ham worked for the Institute for Creation Research, and in 1994 set up what in 1995 became Answers in Genesis (AiG), a creation ministry dedicated to "upholding the authority of the Bible from the very first verse."
In 2008 Ham was described by well known atheist and evolutionary biologist PZ Myers as a "Wackaloon" for carrying out a prayer session with members of the Pentagon. Ham responded regarding the validity of that prayer breakfastand that PZ Myers and other critics were intolerant of his position.
This book is nothing more than a self promotion of the author and his "answers in genesis." He gives no real research. Simply believes every thing you need to know is found in genesis. Nothing but propaganda. Wish I could give it a 0. On his two resource pages, you find that almost half of his resources are his own. Who does that? Who is so stuck on themselves that their information comes from them? That's not resources. That's your stupid opinion.
Inordinately bad - more like "shotgun proofs" for YEC and many that rehash old arguments without really addressing criticism already addressed at said arguments.
The title of this book was the first question asked of me the first time I went out from my home church and preached. Bro Clyde Hancock used this question to lead me into a very good discussion on what I believe in creation and why what we believe on the subject is so important.
Because of that discussion I picked this book up as soon as I saw the title. While I can’t say I agree line and point with Dr. Ham I find he has laid out very reasonable answers to some of the toughest questions a Christian may be asked regarding our creationist beliefs, and he is not afraid to bring out the science to back up his positions.
Would definitely recommend a place In your library for this title as a reference when dealing with issues relating to creation.
This is a fun book full of answers to questions commonly asked to Christians about the Bible. There's about one question and answer per a page, and they cover several different topics of conversation. It's good for Christians who want to make sure they know the answers to these questions or curious non-Christians who want to see what the Bibles has to say on these topics.
Very informational and enunciated. The solutions are infallible towards evolution and Darwins belief and dogmatic incorrect ideas. Show's clearly how evolution is bogus and how God did indeed create the immense universe in a time of 6 days, and we surprisingly did NOT explode into ourselves. :) I recommend this book.
Very thoughtful questions, and nothing wrong with the answers, per se. It was just extremely topical, and I think I was looking to delve into the subjects a little deeper. And the CAPS with the WORDS he wanted to EMPHASIZE got tiresome. But I love Ken Ham, heard him speak at conferences.
