Unique apocalyptic nightmare!

What can I say? I love apocalyptic fiction and I’ve read a lot of it. The End of Us gives a very different and interesting perspective. Two young people faced with disaster in a totally foreign situation struggle with many choices and difficulties. So far, no vulgar language but plenty of violence and an attempted rape in case either of these are triggers for you. I enjoyed it so much I read it straight through. Now, I’m off to get book 2.

This is a young adult book with zombie-like mutants, though they are not undead. I found it difficult to connect with the two main characters, though Joshua would at least have my back. I was disappointed that the military was portrayed as willing to murder for the chance to victimize a young girl. Not most people's priority in the apocalypse. This was a very short book and it ended abruptly. I don't plan to continue if this is part of a series.

Absolutely one of the best Post Apocalyptic books I have ever read.

Two kids. Just, two kids, an older sister of sixteen and her younger brother of twelve did what most could not, survive. This is not your typical zombie book if you could consider it a zombie book at all. A unique twist on the genre brings us a story with plenty of action and lots of heart. Not a dull moment anywhere. Fast paced with a ton of edge of your seat thrills, this is one book which you will find difficult to put down.

Wow! Great story that kept me on the edge of my seat.

Very engaging. Love how the suspense builds and builds. I wasn't as impressed with the soldier interaction. I would have twisted that part to show the kids being more leery of people.

Bravely the two traveled though the infected

Very easy read loved how the story developed clear and easy to read this is the first time the protagonist are children and their bravery is one you only find in innocence. Glad I bought all three.

(Much) better than a lot of the Dystopian stories I have read recently.
The two main characters are jumping off the page so I can picture them in my mind (a thing more modern authors forget to do). I am particularly intrigued by Joshua and am interested to see how he develops in Book 2.

Without any true spoilers - I will admit I am not a "zombie" fan, but at least these were not of the "undead" variety and didn't need an anti-tank gun to die!

I have put "The End of Us 2" on my reading list so I guess that is a recommendation for the first..

AMERICAN! Do you speak it?

This was actually a pretty good story. My difficulty was trying to get into a story about people in the United States and all the characters spoke the dialect of a different country. Once you get past that and the basic ignorance about firearms, it's fairly interesting. It DOES have the obligatory "we are killing the planet" part as well.

A fast paced, interesting start

I enjoyed this. It's a quick read and fast moving, but just the first installment in a series, so don't expect a neat wrapup at the end. There are a few things that should have been caught by an editor but I still want to know what happens next.

Nice!

This was actually a really cool book. I love the little brother not gonna lie , he's cool calculated and still adorable. It's not dragging or repetitive and it's so descriptive without going overboard yet you can imagine it all. Excited for the rest of the series.

A good post-apocalyptic novel with some unique characters. If the author did quite a bit of editing, I would give it a much higher rating.

Great read!

Enjoyed the book, and I am looking forward to number two! Here's hoping that number two is as good as number one.

average

A novella only. A bit more character development would be nice. A few errors throughout ie motor bikes don’t have foot acceleration

Zombies

It was a very good short story. That is the problem. Why do we need seven more short stories? Write an actual book that we can read!

I can't wait to read the next one! The characters learn quickly how to survive in this new world and make good choices.

A new point of view

I like this mysterious of "The Last Of Us." Two children against the world, definitely worth the read. Hope you also enjoy this book.
