The night I met him was supposed to be the worst night of my life. I can’t regret it when it brought him into my life. Now my dark knight hides in the shadows, but he’s never far away. When a new threat emerges, it makes the line between us blur. Cops and criminals are enemies, but what happens when you are fighting for the same thing? Can we be on the same side without having to change who we are and what we believe in?
Tristano
I was never supposed to meet her, but I did. I broke all the rules to be the hero she needed, but I’m far from innocent. When she takes on a job as a cop, I know I should keep my distance, but I can’t help but be drawn to her. Then tragedy strikes and all the reasons we have stayed apart disappear. Time is running out, but I’ll never give up on finding her. She may be the enemy in my family’s eyes, but to me, she’s my everything.

Cala Riley, better known as Cala and Riley, are a pair of friends with a deep seated love of books and writing. Both Cala and Riley are happily married and each have children, Cala with the four-legged kind while Riley has a mixture of both two-legged and four. While they live apart, that does not affect their connection. They are the true definition of family. What started as an idea that quickly turned into a full-length book and a bond that will never end.
Cop. Mafia. Tragedy brought them together and their relationship breaks all the rules. It stays at "friendship" and "at a distance" to try to keep the lines clear, but the pull they've felt is real and sometimes, even feels like destiny. Or fate. But when Serena is taken, all bets are off and Tristano will do anything, break any rule, to bring her back to him.
Aaaaarrgh!! I loved this one so much! This is a "friends to lovers" done perfectly. They stayed just friends, but the attraction was always there and it was understood by both. I really don't like it when one of them have been pining the whole time and the other just wakes up, like, "oh", lol. Anyway, the story is super fast paced with tons of action and twists and turns that keep you on your toes. We get a lot of cameos by our favorite Syndicates characters and get an awesome "found family" vibe that just warms your heart. The chemistry between Serena and Tristano is tangible, nearly jumping off your kindle and it's compounded by how much they care and invested they are in each other, right from the beginning. Definitely one of my favorite stories in the series!
⭐️⭐️ This review is based off a beta read and will be updated if necessary
Tristano is the ninth book in the Syndicates series and features Serena and Tristano. While not my first or even third favorite in the series, I still enjoyed this romantic ride. Serena has seen the seedier side of life and has the emotional scars to prove it. Tristano is the knight in shining armor that saved her and they are forever connected.
When Serena comes back into Tristano's life, these two realize they can't see a life without each other.
"If he won’t unal*ve for you, is he even the one?
This was spicy and sweet with some great action. I enjoyed it immensely! Serena was courageous and knew what she wanted and needed. Tristano was possessive and caring in the best ways. I've just really enjoyed this series.
•This is book 9 in a stand alone interlocking series that can be read individually.
•Releasing 10/26•
Serena hasn’t had it easy, her mother abandoned her at birth, losing her father to the job when she was 6, then to lose her grandfather at age 10, leaving her an orphan instead of going into the system she was taken in by her “Uncle Ben” who was her fathers best friend. At 17 she was taken and escaped, lucky enough to make it to the road and catch the eye of her dark knight. Even through all of her mountains she never stopped the climb. She never let her past hold her back. Joining the police force in hope to follow in her father and grandfather’s footsteps. When a starts to see a pattered of missing women and young teenage girls, she takes it into her own hands after no one listens to her. This time though her tenacity get the better of her and lands her back in captivity.
Tristano going from no family, living on the streets, stealing from a local bodega to working for the Italian Mob has been the best thing to ever happen to Tris. He came from nothing to having a family full of love and support. He is on the tech team run by the sister of the Don, he’s been working tirelessly on this missing women and girl case. When they go in for a conference and pull up the list of girls recently taken and reported his heart stills and the world around his disappears. The only girl he’s ever cared about is staring back at him, he saved her once and he’s hell bent on saving her again. The only thing is he has to tell his family that not only has he had feelings for this girl for 6 years for the first time and that she’s a cop!
Will Tristano get to Serena in time? Will feelings outweigh careers? Can a cop be in a relationship with a criminal? Will those you trust be the ones who turn on you in the end? Well you may want to pick up this high stakes syndicate book to find out!
Plot: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Well my favorite writing duo, have done it once again! Wow my loves just wow, once again y’all write as a duo seamlessly. I cannot wait for more of this series, y’all keep adding more potential couples and I love it! Thank you loves for allowing me the opportunity to read your books I am forever a fan y’all are stuck with me!
Tristano and Serena were perfect for each other despite every single aspect in their lives. Literally everything was against them. For years they cared for each from afar, never really interacting, but still kindling something that was strong and unshakeable.
I adored Serena. She was strong, independent and a true phoenix who rose from the ashes. Tristano was always in her corner and she was never far from his thoughts. He was sweet and so damn attentive. Possessive at it's best.
After a heartbreaking meet when they were young.. they are thrown back into each other's life. Desperate to remain together, they refuse to let anything stand in the way anymore.
These two were beautiful together and their connection knew no bounds. This series keeps getting better and better! Each new hero keeps setting the bar for the next.
Tristano is book 9 in the Syndicate series by Cala Riley and it’s full of mafia goodness that you don’t want to miss!
Tristano and Serena had every thing working against them! She’s a cop and he’s in the mafia. It couldn’t be more forbidden if they tried but their bond exceeds everything else. Watching them come together and try and keep things as friends was fun to watch because the sexual chemistry was haaawt!!
The thing I loved the most about this book though is that Tristano is so not the mafia stereotype. That guy had golden retriever energy and it was so refreshing to see.
Another mafia hit from Cala Riley! I can’t wait to read Declan.
I have loved the series from the beginning when it started with Matteo (which was the first book that I read from Cala Riley) and then now celebrating my 100th arc, it comes almost full circle.
Tristano, the fun loving, dirty golden retriever man has eyes for the first woman that captured his heart after he became her dark knight and rescued her. Fast forward a few years that woman turned into a police officer trying to track down missing women and when she becomes one of those missing women, Tristano will not stand for it.
Serena has always loved him and wanted to work, but he's pushed away knowing that she didn't want to keep secrets. But no more, she wants more and will show him that she's here to stay.
The sweet, loving connection of these two, we love to see it. Out of the syndicate, I think this man is the most golden retriever man I have read. Serena is a little spitfire too, especially when it comes to something she's passionate about.
This series just feels like home, and the men may be rough but are heavily devoted to their women. They take care of what's theirs. Tristano is not one to miss and certainly one that needs to be on your shelf.
I enjoyed this book! I’m glad that Tristano’s character got his own book. His personality as a side character in other books within this series was very surface level funny guy, and in this book they absolutely gave him the depth he deserved. Tristano’s relationship with Serena is different from others in the series since her profession is dangerous. The other FMCs in this series seem to keep the danger away and the MMCs have all been overly protective - Tristano is overly protective but also gives Serena the space to be who she is, and I really enjoyed that!! The storyline itself was well written and I enjoyed getting glimpses of almost all of the past couples again. I also really enjoyed the foreshadowing of Declan’s story during and at the end of this book - great cliffhanger!
There isn’t a book in this series that I don’t love, every MMC inches their way closer to the top of my top book boyfriend list. Tristano gave Enzo a run for his money. He’s sweet, silly, over protective and sexy!
Tristano’s relationship with his family is everything, he loves fiercely and I adore that about him. Serena, like all of this duos FMC is strong and independent and while she’s dealt some serious bad luck she stays strong.
This story is a true friends to lovers romance that is written perfectly- not only to you get the dark aspects of the mafia world but you get a really sweet and consuming love story.
Emotions that is exactly what I felt reading this. Serena's point of view was heartbreaking at times but her strength and determination made up for her pain. Tristano was the perfect book boyfriend-husband status. This man was kind, and thoughtful, and gave love with his all. At times he was the strength that Serena needed during her time of need. Soul mates that the only way to describe this couple. Now Im question who really is my favorite couple out of this series.
Mafia Golden retriever MMC Badass FMC Found family Friends to lovers Forbidden romance Cop/criminal
I think I fell in love with Tristano almost immediately. Apparently I love a golden retriever MMC way more than I realized. Once again, you ladies have created a beautiful couple to fall in love with.
Trigger Warnings include: human trafficking, kidnapping, torture, mafia related violence; mentions of rape, homelessness because of unaccepting parents, suicide; discussions of therapy, PTSD
Tristano came into Serena’s life like a knight in shining armor. And then continued to be her protector, even from afar. He was already a weakness for my heart coming into this book, so this really did me in. Thankfully, I discovered early on that Serena was going to push Tristano and I over the edge. She had a little issue with getting herself in trouble, and not knowing when enough is enough. Lucky for her, Tristano isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty. He refused to let her throw her dreams away to be connected to the wrong side of the law. But then she realizes she’s not on the right side of the law, and it’s time to cross the line they’ve been toeing since they met. Is there anything more attractive than a mafia man claiming his woman in front of all the families?! Tristano won me over with his sarcasm and the way he riled up Greer and Enzo. So I definitely loved having it for the entirety of his own book! Even in dark times, their connection, trust, and humor was comforting. They’re Them no matter what. Tristano wears his heart on his sleeve, and Serena just wants to protect it. The world doesn’t deserve Tristano. The way this man makes me swoon, it’s lethal. I went on a roller coaster ride reading this one, and I was barely strapped in properly! The bond in this found family makes my heart a mess! But I wouldn’t have it any other way!

8/10 Dirty Birdy 8/10 Dark Romance 9/10 Mafia Romance 8/10 Second Chance 9/10 Series
Tristano and Serena easily found their way to the deepest parts of my heart; their love story is so so beautiful that it left me pretty much destroyed and I wished I could've lived within these pages even longer!
He was her dark knight and protector when she needed him the most which connected them in so many ways, and that started their forbidden friendship and their falling deeply in love with each other. When she is in grave danger again all the lines they had are thrown out the window and he'll do everything in his power to get her back and safe in his arms.
These two own each other's hearts and souls and their love is so beautiful I could just burst into tears. The way they would go through hell and back for each other has me melting even weeks later. Cala Riley are really good at pulling you inside the pages of a book, making you feel everything powerfully and I so did once again. And I love the way the steam is both so incredibly hot it's not even funny while also have them almost every time be filled with passion so raw; it's everything.
I was on the edge of my seat, if not almost falling on the floor with the intensity that was this book, the twists and turns keeping me captivated beyond anything. Their love has no limits and their story is everything you could ask for and more! They're forever one of my fav epic couples!
Tristano by Cala Riley is book nine in their Syndicates series but can be read as a standalone. If you have read Enzo then you’ve already met the wonderful Tristano. This is a great friends to lovers story between Tristano Ferrari and Serena Taylor, a couple on different sides of the law.
Serena’s life changed when she was seventeen. She was abducted and suffered a horrific experience but one night managed to escape. Luckily for her a dark knight came along and rescued her. What happened that night starts a secret friendship between them and he makes her a promise he religiously keeps. They keep in touch but when she graduates from police academy he visits her and the chemistry between them really ignites.
Now five years later she is working undercover but getting frustrated with no-one taking her seriously. She is concerned about the number of missing girls but her boss is not interested. She is determined to investigate what is going on but finds herself a victim. Tristano is also working on the kidnappings and trying to find a connection. He is shocked when he sees Serena on the missing persons list and can’t believe she’s be taken again.
Serena has slowly become the most important person in his life, even if he can’t have her as she’s a cop and he’s mafia. He loves his Mafia family because they helped change his life but has never told them about her. He’s finally found his one and is prepared to do anything to keep her so has to revel his secret to save her.
The action is fast paced as everyone tries to find Serena and then solve the mystery of the missing girls. Serena has never mixed the two sides of her life but her feelings for him are now undeniable and she must make a choice. Could she be with him especially as he always seems to there when she needs him. She has always known who he is involved with and what he does, but knows it’s all been done to protect those he cares about, because he did it for her. Joining him on the wrong side of the law is becoming very tempting as she wants to make a difference. He doesn’t want her to throw her career away but loves the idea they could finally be together.
Her reckless side continues to lead her into trouble and poor Tristano struggles with letting her be independent while trying to keep her safe. He is so supportive but hates she takes unnecessary risks. He is terrified there will be a time she’s in danger and he won’t be there to help her. Most of the characters from the rest of the series make an appearance. I laughed so much at his interactions with Greer and Enzo, he really enjoys winding them up. OMG I loved him as Uncle Tristano. It was sweet how he always knows what to say and how possessive he was in the best ways. How he stood up for her and claims her in front of all the families is fantastic. I am becoming a fan of these authors as their books just keep getting better and better. They give us all the intrigue of the mafia with a really sweet love story. Soul mates fated to be together.
To say that I was excited to be back in New York with Cala Reily’s mafia men is a huge understatement. HUGE. I love the mafia universe of questionable men with a strong moral compass, a passion to keep people safe, and the ability to work together for the greater good! There isn’t a mafia guy in their world that is more deserving of love, and really a longing for love than Tristano. He loves his found family fiercely and longs to have his own family. He cares deeply for those around him and works hard to keep them safe. I thoroughly enjoyed his perspective and role in the family, as technology is becoming more important in this day and age. Serena always wanted to follow in her family’s footsteps and work on the police force. She thought that she was living the dream, but really wasn’t feeling that she wasn’t making the difference in the world that she had hoped. She just wants to take down the bad guys that do terrible things to others. The chance meeting that brings these two unlikely people together and ties them together…it was evident at their first meeting that Tristano and Serena were brought together for a reason. They are drawn to one another so intensely, and no matter the time, space or people trying to pull them apart, it will sever their connection. For the majority of the book I was on the edge of my seat; this might be one of the more intense Cala Reily books I have read to date. There is a lot going on and Tristano is focused on one thing, and that is Serena. A team of mafia men around the country band together to locate her and hopefully take down a criminal organization. After years and years of yearning for one another they are finally together, and oh my goodness. The tension, the connection and the way that in the midst of everything these two cannot keep their hands off each other is amazing. But most of all it highlights that these two really truly belong together. They are just better together than apart. Serena isn’t afraid to put Tristano in his place and call him on his bullshit, and he helps her to see things from another view. If you love a mafia series with a strong sense of family, a man that will do anything for the woman he loves, other mafia families working together then this book needs to be on your radar. I promise you will be so happy you dove into this series!
Before you read this book; PLEASE PLEASE check the trigger warnings!
Modern day Robin Hood Mafia. This Cops and mafia story is crazy good. There is triggers in this book with heroine who was rapped, human trafficking, drugs, rape and death. Serena The heroine in the book was kidnapped and raped. She was rescued by Tristano a member of the mafia. These two befriended each other staying connected through a phone. Serena ends up falling into family footsteps of her father and grandfather becoming a cop. She’s determined to help women on the streets and when women begin disappearing she’s doing all she can to find out who is taking them. She finds herself immersed into human trafficking herself. With the help of Tris and the mafia she escapes with others. The love these two have for each is swoon worthy. He’s the perfect guy and will do anything for her. The love and spice these two bring out of each other is electric. The story uncovers how criminals can be good guys and the good guys not always good. She crosses over to the family she was always meant to be with. When a book pulls you in like you are watching a movie unfold it’s a great book. Tristan definitely book boyfriend material. I have not read the other books in the series and didn’t feel I missed anything so easily read as a standalone. Highly recommend for your next read!
Way to make mafia criminal family into heroes! Huge fan!
I received a copy of this arc in exchange for my honest review. There isn’t a book in this series that I haven’t devoured and just loved. Tristano and Serena were no different! These two were just everything together. These two met 5 years ago when Tris saves Serena after she’s escaped being kidnapped. They instantly have a special bond, but with careers on opposing sides of the law, they maintain a distance between one another. Until Serena goes missing , and Tris is on mission to find her. The bond these two have is undeniable, and I love that they realized this and fought for what they wanted so they could be together. Despite Serena having a traumatic past, she is so strong and an absolute boss. She fights for what she wants and isn’t afraid to put herself in the line of fire for other people. Tristano is one of the sweetest mafia men I have read, despite being a savage to protect the ones he loves. I simply adored him and his love for Serena. He is the dream man every woman wishes they could have! This book was easy to devour in a sitting, I just fell instantly in love with these two and the special bond and chemistry they shared! The slow burn about K!LL3D ME! As usual, this duo writes a 5 star read with characters who easily burrow their way into your heart. Get this on your kindle stat ! 5⭐️
Cala Riley keeps giving us stories that are riveting, full of suspense, and have men that take over your heart and have your ovaries working overtime. They also give us storylines that are well-written, so easy to get lost in and love with all your heart. Tristano is a friends to lovers romance that is a slow burn and easy to get so engrossed in that the end comes too fast. Five stars are not enough for this book.
Tristano gives us two souls that have a connection but due to who they are and what they do they have never been able to act on it. When a tragedy brings them together, it has them overlooking the reason they were not able to be together and has their hearts taking over. Tristano is a part of the mafia and Serena is a cop, talk about complete opposites but there is a pull that they can no longer fight. Danger seems to be around every corner but that does not stop Serena and Tristano.
I loved how all the other characters from the previous syndicate books were a part of this book. Cala Riley knows that Kilian, a previous syndicate character, is at the top of my book-boyfriend list but Tristano has just been pushed out of the position. Looking for a book that will have your complete attention right from the start, sees two people who are soulmates and suspense at the turn of every page, then Tristano is the book for you.
4.5 stars for this amazing friends to lovers book ❤️ I’m not usually of fan of this trope but these amazing authors did it so right! Tristano and Serena are absolutely total opposites but they just work. Mafia and cop never mix. Nothing is more forbidden than that. But a horrible situation brings them together and from here starts a special bond and friendship. Since that fateful night where Tristano comes to her rescue he’s been her protector even from afar. Serena is investigating why so many women are going missing. When she also finds herself in that same position. Taken. Tristano is also trying to figure out what is happening with the missing women and is shocked to learn Serena is now one of them. He’s about to move heaven and earth to get her back. And he doesn’t care what it takes. I loved this couple. Their love was built by friendship and blossoming through the years. It was just beautiful and tender. They are drawn to one another so intensely. Not time nor distance or people could sever their bond and connection. I loved how supportive Tristano was of Serena and especially how protective he was of her. And Serena was just an incredible character so strong and resilient. Perfect blend of action and suspense, sexy and steamy.
Cala Riley is quickly becoming one of my comfort authors. I can always rely on tehm to have a strong female lead, found family, and OTTP MMC who are all about their woman.
The FMC, Serena, is kidnapped and assaulted when she's younger and Tristano helps her after that assault. They become friends, but have to keep each other a secret because she is deeply entrenched in law enforcement and he is a part of the Mafia. Years after they started their friendship, she is an undercover police officer and gets herself into a situation that puts her in very close contact with Tristano.
From that point on the story moves very quickly and there's a lot thrown at you.
The plot is great, the spice is steamy (but not the hottest CR has written), but my favorite part is seeing all the interactions with characters we love from previous books.
You will probably be able to guess the big reveal at the end but it's done in such a way that you aren't disappointed at all.
100% recommend, especially when you need some heavy "mine" and "touch her and ☠️" vibes.
Tristano has stolen my heart there is no doubt that the Syndicates has been the mafia series to read, and each couple has brought their own 5-star deliciousness, but Tristano and Serena are getting another star from me, as yet again, these two marvellous authors drew me into a world of dark secrets, of good against evil, with a backdrop of a breathtaking romance, these mafia men may know how to dish out deserved retribution but they are hot swoon worthy lovers when they find their soul mate, and there is doubt that this couple are soul mates, one might be on the right side of the law and the other on the wrong side, but when Serena finds herself in danger Tristano will go through fire for her, and when the time comes to decide on which side of the law you can do most good, well there is no contest.
Tristano may be a slow-burn suspense romance, but the heat on every page is like a volcano and when it boils over be prepared for perfect diry heat, embedded into a perfect romance.
Serena, went through something horrible at only seventeen, but she was determined to make something of herself and went through the police academy and put her heart and soul into her job. But the last few months/weeks things started changing, too much red tape and too many women being hurt, and helping these women even if it isn't on the right side of the law but right was something she was willing to do.
Tristano, this hero ♥️ was everything. He was sweet but loving, caring yet extremely dangerous. His the jokester and also the hacker in their family. Working with Greer and Enzo in their mission to stop human trafficking is meaningful and when the woman he cares deeply for is taken, he does everything he can to find his woman.
Tristano and Serena have a past, it was heartbreaking the way they met but he has been her protector, since then. What they feel for each other is forbidden yet their connection, and chemistry was just 💋*chefs kiss*💋. The steamy moments where 🥵.
And the suspense kept me on edge, but I have to say I was so suspicious about that person from the get go.
The banter in this book between the H and Enzo was just awesome!!!
....and that cliffhanger for the next book!!! Cala Riley, I need that book!!!!
𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 Loved seeing the characters from the previous books ♥️♥️
Another book by this author duo that I really enjoyed!
This is a fast paced, easy to read, mafia romance. What I really liked about this one was it didn’t feel like a typical mafia romance. It highlighted the family elements to mafia life, and the ability to come together to do good whilst not being restricted by the red tape of a clean cut life.
Are all the hero’s morally grey? Hell yeh. But that’s just 🤌🏼💋
Serena meets Tristano as a younger girl, but their lives end up going down two beu different paths - mafia & cop - and so their relationship has always been one they couldn’t explore. So of course it was fun getting to see them be together!
Tristano was so open and also showed his vulnerabilities which I loved seeing as “the mafia man” character can sometimes be written as super cold. Every man in this family would do anything for their woman and it’s super fun to see!!
I definitely wanna go back and read the rest of the couples stories now!
Tropes: Forbidden romance - cop & mafia man Touch her and 💀 Heroine in danger
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Range & Rep: Positive encouragement for therapy
TWs: Mention of SA (not explicit) Mention of human trafficking
I love Tristano and Serena’s story! This story really digs into the over-arcing villiany of this series, putting Tristano and Serena in the middle of it. Tristano has kept his distance from Serena because she is a cop and he is on the other side of the law. Now forces have pulled them together, and Serena gets to see that sometimes good men have to do bad things to protect others. There is a role reversal from what is typically seen in this story that I adored while reading. Serena has been through so much, but that does not stop her from wanting to squash the evil that she sees. Tristano is the perfect combination of protective, possessive, supportive MMC. He knows when he needs to be protective of Serena and when he needs to stand behind her in support. He is also an hilarious, over the top goofball that had me cracking up in so many parts. Their spice level is deliciously hot. I absolutely love this series and cannot wait to see what happens next!
ARC REVIEW!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ QUOTE - "You are not broken, but even if you are, that's okay too."

Friends to lovers Slow burn Cop X mafia
Cala always sucks you into her books and this one was no different. From page one I needed to know how the story was going to unfold and ugh my poor heart broke for Serena. She had been through so much and Tristano helped her through everything.
They kept their relationship as friends due to Serena being a cop and tristano having connection with the mafia but they couldn't deny the connection they both felt towards each other! When Serena found herself in a situation she couldn't get out of tristano was her knight in black who would stop at nothing to keep her safe.
Tristano knew Serena was his and he had no problem claiming her in front of everyone. Even though this book has dark triggers the was tristano will make you feel is worth all the heartache🥹
If you haven't read cala's books I highly recommend you do!!
Tristano is another awesome read from Cala Riley! I just love this series Serena & Tristano meet when he saves her when she is 17 and he becomes her "dark knight" Tristano keeps his distance, they are both from different worlds, but they keep in touch and check in often. Serena goes on to become a Police Officer, pouring all she has into her job. When women start going missing she will do anything to find them. Tristano is a dangerous man, a member of the mafia. When Serena misses one of their check ins, he knows something is wrong. He gets help from his found family to find her. When Serena is found, Tristano will not let her go this time. Can they make a relationship work? This was a fast paced, enjoyable, steamy romantic suspense with cameos from so many favorite characters in the series.
This is book 9 of a series of standalone reads, all interconnected but not necessary to read the other books to appreciate the story of the couple portrayed in the current book. NOW... what that being said. Should you go back to the very beginning and read your way through the entire Syndicate series if you haven't? Hell yes. The story that has been unfolding in the background has been like a small itch that it doesn't matter how much you scratch it, it's just not fully satisfied until you hit that one right spot. And we are almost there, Serena and Tristano got us so close to the end you can taste it. The main story of them was so sweet and I loved getting to know more of the goofy cinnamon roll that is Tristano cause that man has been adorable in the other books. Serena has been through so much and keeps finding the strength to keep going and Tristano is a major part of that. Great individual read but amazing series if you want to dive in and experience all of the characters.
Tristano is the ninth book in the Syndicates series by Cala Riley, and it does not disappoint. The chemistry between Serena and Tristano is palpable, and it's compounded by how much they care and invest in each other. The book is well-written, and the plot is engaging, with a strong focus on the characters and their relationships. The author does an excellent job of creating a world that is both believable and intriguing.
If you're looking for a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat, Tristano is definitely worth a read. The pacing is just right, and the story is well-crafted. The characters are well-developed, and you'll find yourself rooting for them throughout the book. Overall, Tristano is a great addition to the Syndicates series, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys romance and suspense.
This one might be by favorite of the series. This one was such a refreshing story compared to several before it. When I read the synopsis that the FMC was a cop I was very curious as to how this was going to work out. Was it predictable? Yes, but it was such a reprieve from the same sing song and dance we have been used to at this point. Tris is a golden retriever MMC and out of all the men I felt like he had the most distinct personality. Serena was a FMC you could get behind. Despite her flaws she didn’t rely on Tris to do everything for her like some of the other FMC before her. Despite terrible things happening to her she picked herself back up. I really enjoyed that Tris wasn’t the typical growly suffocating MMC. He was supportive of Serena and choices she wanted to make for how she lived her life even when he was scared for her.
Quote: “Not a single woman in this world can compare to you. There’s only one of you, and I’m claiming you. ”
Tropes: mafia, ex-cop, friends to lovers, found family, touch her and die, possessive hero, heroine with a traumatic past

My Thoughts….. Tris and Serena were each other’s soulmate. While the first time they met was under heartbreaking conditions, there was no denying that they felt forever connected afterward. I loved how sweet these two were together. Tristano was basically a teddy bear, and Serena was such a strong FMC. I enjoyed Tristano and Serena’s story and can’t wait for the next installment!
