Natalie The past year of my life has been a nightmare. Always watching what I said and did to not anger him. Until the night he takes things too far. Running to the Lotus MC is dangerous, but it’s the only choice I’ve got. All I can hope is that they are strong enough to save me from the monster chasing me.
Reaper Being the president of the Lotus MC means that I have to be ready for anything. So when she shows up at my door broken and bruised, I’m skeptical. Until she says the one name that stops me in my tracks. When my past and present collide, my entire world gets turned upside down. All I know is that I will protect her at all costs.
Cala Riley, better known as Cala and Riley, are a pair of friends with a deep seated love of books and writing. Both Cala and Riley are happily married and each have children, Cala with the four-legged kind while Riley has a mixture of both two-legged and four. While they live apart, that does not affect their connection. They are the true definition of family. What started as an idea that quickly turned into a full-length book and a bond that will never end.
Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Trope: heroine in peril Angst: 😱 Smexy: 🔥🔥
Reaper is the first of a brand new series by the writing duo of Cala Riley. This was their first go at a MC romance and they totally nailed it! The writing is fantastic, it definitely lures you in right from page one. Our heroine, Natalie decides enough is enough and flees her abusive boyfriend and runs right into the arms of his enemy, hoping he'll protect her. I loved her journey to wellness and her ability to find herself again. The chemistry between Reaper and Natalie is fantastic. It is a medium burn which works well with the storyline. But Reaper? You can't help but fall in love with his patience and how he's all in right from the beginning. Loved the book, super excited for the series!
Cala Riley decided to do MC and boy did they start off with a bang! Natalie has been entangled and trapped in an abusive relationship and finally leaves and seeks help with the person she believes is her boyfriend's enemy. Reaper meets Natalie on the night that she is badly hurt and isn't willing to turn her away. Not only does he feel the need to protect Natalie but the man she is running from is someone he would love to see six feet under.
The more time Reaper spends with Natalie, the more he realizes that she is a fighter and he wants her by his side despite all the obstacles they may have to overcome.
"I only have eyes for one woman now. The one I didn’t expect, but can’t imagine letting go."
This story is a slow burn and rightfully so. Natalie has been through A LOT and I loved her journey to recovery. Reaper was so patient and kind while also being the alpha male Natalie needed and it created such strong chemistry. Action packed and suspenseful, this story really roped me in and kept me glued to its pages until the end. I'm looking forward to Wrath's story.
''I was ready to burn the world to the ground for her.''

Natalie has been through hell in the hands of her once charming boyfriend. He lied and used every weapon he had to gain her trust and later took her entire freedom away leaving only a shell of a woman he used and abused throughout their entire relationship.
She has had enough and out of fear runs away when she sees an opportunity, running towards the one person he seems to have some sort of fear of...Reaper.
She knows he is a part of the Lotus MC so when she shows up claimin to need help and being William's ex, he knows exactly the type of man he is and takes her in and protects her.
He is so patient with her, he treated her with kindness and made sure she was safe and felt it too. He also made sure the men around him knew to be kind and not to mess with her.
You see them slowly fall for each other, while you see it happen with him more. It's him who never wanted someone in his life in that capacity and nor did he ever want an ''old lady'' but once he met Natalie all bets were off.
Natalie spends time with the Lotus MC growing stronger and healing through her trauma. She also spends time making things better for the ''sweetbutts'' of the MC so they are treated better and fairly.
There are a few scenes in this book that hit hard, they all are connected to physical or sexual abuse. We see one of the sweetbutts Tara deal with it too and Wrath (Reaper's best friend) take her as his for the next few weeks to heal (their story is book 2).
While we have William trying to get his ''pet'' back (ewww) we see Reaper get sick and tired of having him alive and planning his demise, these two have a past and it did not end well hence why they hate each other, and William has slowly been destroying any progress they made with their contacts and work.
There is also a mole within the MC and while they thought it was Colt, I knew it was too obvious and it had t be someone who was even more obvious but not too important to care for.
I am kind of annoyed that William did not die at the end, and it seems to not be resolved after he disappears but I am hoping his demise is coming soon.
Reaper by Cala Riley is book 1 in a whole new motorcycle club series and I can’t wait to see where this author duo takes this series.
This book has made me intrigued about so many side characters and I am dying to get my hands on their books.
This isn’t a particularly dark MC romance but it does have darker themes. Trigger warning for abuse as this is a heroine on the run.
I absolutely adored Reaper and Natalie together. Reaper was so possessive and seeing him give Natalie the tools to grow and empower herself was just amazing. Also if you love some spice… this book has some scenes that will leave your fanning yourself.
Overall, a fantastic start to a new series that I am dying to read more of!
4.7 stars. Fuck yeah! I love when the FMC matches the MMC’s energy, Especially when that energy is total badass!
And the relationship! It was smooth sailing the whole way, no miscommunication or either of them pulling dumb shit out of misplaced ‘honor’ or some shit, and yet it was still sooo fucking satisfying. I Loved all of the growth that the FMC went thro- Natalie!🤦 That’s her fucking name!-ahem. -ugh.🫣🤷🏻♀️😂I have a really hard time remembering FMC’s names a lot of times. Natalie’s just kind of popped out of me in the middle there…. Anywaaaay. Uh. Yeah. I loved this. I’ll for sure be checking out the rest of the series. I need to know about Wrath in particular.
What a start to this new series! Prior to this, I had only read their rom-com (which I loved), so when I saw the signup for a new MC series, I jumped on it! This writing duo continues to impress me! I loved the storyline in Natalie and Reaper’s story! It immediately pulled me in and kept me engaged and guessing the whole time. Their chemistry was great, with Reaper falling first and fast! Reaper - the patience he had with Natalie, helping her find herself again as she grew her self-confidence, was probably my favorite part. Natalie - my heart hurt for her from the very beginning. But once she gained a little confidence and found her place (and her family), she quickly became a leader and advocate in her own right. Expect: 🔧 Age Gap 💕 Found Family 🔧 Alpha Hero 💕 Forced Proximity 🔧 Dual POV How excited was I when I saw the next book will be Wrath’s story? 🤩🤩🤩 ⚠️ Please check the Trigger Warnings on the authors’ website before reading. Thank you to the authors and Grey's Promo for an eARC of this book. All opinions are my own.
This was fucking jaw-dropping and oh boy was it one hell of a ride. I can't wait to read the next book. This is now one of my favorites and I need to know what comes next for the two of them.
- MC - Forced Prox - FMC in danger - He Fell First
On the totally subjective dark romance scale, this one was a bit on the lighter side for me despite some of the potentially triggering topics. I am a bit back and forth on my feelings on this one. On one hand I really enjoyed the female in peril/protector storyline. But then on the other hand there were some aspects of the story that just didn’t sit well for me…such as the FMC only being 19 and the changes she brought about between the club and the sweetbutts (yes this is a real term used in the book to basically describe the clubs groupies) Overall I enjoyed the side characters and the story enough that I plan to continue on with the series in the future.
2.5⭐️… The plot was good, and the book started off interesting, but then it kinda went off the rails. The writing was stilted and didn’t flow well. There were incorrect words used in places, and some sentences that didn’t even make sense. There were timeline issues that didn’t line up, and the h just ended up annoying me by the end. The H didn’t fare much better. He definitely didn’t make a good President. I’ll probably give book two a chance when it’s released because Wrath seemed interesting, I just hope his story gets the delivery he deserves.
OMG! I absolutely love this new series. Reaper is going to be my new book boyfriend. He comes off as fierce, domineering, and possessive but deep down this man has a heart of gold. He’s sweet, adorable, and you just can’t help falling in love with him.
The story consumed me from beginning to end. I was on the edge of my seat, gasping at some of the shocking moments that happen to poor Natalie, and then cheering her on throughout, as she finally finds her strength and her inner warrior. This girl has been through hell and back, and when she lands on Reaper’s doorstep, she has no idea that this man and this MC is exactly what she needs to find her strength again.
Reaper may have sworn off finding his other half but one look at Natalie, and he knows deep down that he will do anything and everything for her. Their connection is instantaneous, and it slowly builds into something that is so strong and unbreakable. The build up of their relationship was filled with such amazing chemistry, but also so much love and healing too for the both of them. I could not get enough of these two together. They were a force to be reckoned with.
This story was really well written with such amazing characters and secondary characters that felt so real and alive to me. It was packed with suspense, action, violence, drama, emotional turmoil, spice, passion, and love. I loved every second of it and can’t wait for the next book in the series.
It looks like I just found new MC authors to follow because this book was amazing with a fantastic storyline. With this being the first MC book by these two authors they struck gold checking off all of my boxes for a highly recommended MC book.
Reaper is the Prez of the Lotus MC and has a rat within his club. Natalie is on the run from an abusive man and she heads to the one man who she thinks can help her…her ex’s enemy. Reaper was already dealing with so much within his club but there was just something about Natalie that he knew he had to help her. Little did he know that Natalie’s ex was a bad memory from his past.
The way Reaper handled Natalie and helped to make her stronger was heartwarming and Natalie found out she was much stronger than she thought. The chemistry and relationship between these two was intense. The MC action was gripping. Reaper was filled with secrets, lies, suspense, betrayal and love.
This book was a one sit read for me because it was that good. I am excited to see what these two authors give me next because I will definitely be one clicking that book!
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for a honest review.
Oh my God, this book was amazing.
This is definitely my favorite MC book, granted I haven't read that many but this book makes me want to.
Reaper was such a sweetheart, I love books where there's just no doubt what the hero is feeling about his girl.
He and Natalie were so cute together. True love right there.
This is such a girl power book. Natalie and the guys were such feminists. How they all helped Natalie grow strong again and find herself. I really loved reading about it. And what Natalie did for the entire clubhouse but mostly the sweetbuts, was a real girl power move.
I really hope Wrath, Trigger and Jacob all get books themselves, cause they were great characters I would like to read more of. Oh and Cueball, simply because that's my favorite nickname ever.
I really want to read more Cala Riley in the future. I'll be looking into her books for sure.
This book, I am yet again speechless. This may be a short review but only because I don’t want to give anything away and I simply don’t think I have the words to express how much I loved this whole book!!
Reaper and Natalie are the perfect MC couple. You will break right away for Natalie, her story is extremely sad. But I loved her strength and how she ended up coming to Reaper. I was so happy to see the woman she became in the end.
Now Reaper, I loved him, omg did I love him so much. He shocked me with how he was with Natalie. I knew right away he wouldn’t turn her away given her situation but after that is when he shocked me.
This book is everything you could ever want in a MC Romance. Everyone needs to read this book!!
I cannot wait for the next book in the series! . . . 5️⃣🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 10/10 recommendation‼️‼️
I am so torn on this book. The premise of the story had me hooked but the execution just wasn't quite there. I absolutely ADORED Reaper and I think he saved it for me. The writing was bizarre- a lot of the sentences felt really stilted. The author doesn't appear to like using contractions and this made some of the characters the most politely spoken MC members I've ever read in my life! Then one of the characters said something along the lines of "she will birth my children" and it just felt so off. I also didn't enjoy the fact the scared shitless FMC who was 19 had been living at the compound for a few days but then suddenly became this badass who was changing all the rules. It just all became a bit cringey and put me off reading the rest of the series.
-Heroine on the run/in danger -Found Family -Age Gap -He fall's first -Alpha Hero -Forced Proximity
Reaper is the first book in Cala Riley's new Lotus MC Series. This is an exciting, awesome, steamy read full of some protective, Alpha Bikers. Natalie decides to run from her abusive boyfriend when things get really bad. She runs right to the Lotus MC searching for someone whom her ex is afraid of. Hoping he can help her. Reaper is the MC President and decides to help Natalie when she tells him who her ex is. He can't help but feel protective of her. This was such a great read! With so many awesome characters. I can't wait for more!
I REALLY liked this book! I enjoyed it a lot! The only reason it isn’t 5 stars is that one of the plot points was resolved pretty quickly and it wasn’t as spicy as I would have liked but the romance was 5 stars for sure!
Harrison AKA Reaper was so swoon worthy. The way he was so patient, kind, protective, possessive and just so amazing. I want one for myself! Natalie was so strong for escaping and finding a better life and learning to kick butt so she wouldn’t be a victim again and she was so sweet and nice!
I love the found family vibes with the other guys and definitely looking forward to reading the other books!
If you’re a fan of SoA this is definitely one for you! It was like watching a few episodes except with slightly less overall doom and slightly more romance which just made me 🫠🫠🥰🥰
This was fast paced, and surprisingly easy to read given that it does cover some heavy topics. I love that Kingston fell so hard, so fast & so easily. He is an absolute badass, with serious touch her & 💀 vibes but also an absolute softie for Natalie.
I loved seeing Natalie’s strength after everything she went through. She never gave up & fought daily to be stronger. She takes to her Queen Bee role so well.
I am freaking obsessed with the side characters & I am so excited that Tara and Wrath are getting their own book. Next years release cannot come quick enough!
This was my first time reading this author but it will not be my last!
Tropes: MC romance Touch her & die Damsel in distress
Spice: 🌶️🌶️
Range & Rep: Adult romance Positive representation of therapy
For some reason this look didn't do it for me. It felt boring & predictable. You can tell the author tried to make it good. There are sub plots, betrayal, a villain who is still at large, h's rebirth, sexy Pres... and yes it all felt not enough for me. For now I'm not going to go for book two.
MC book. Light “dark” themes but not too bad. MMC falls first and hard. Not a fan of the age gap as she is like 19 but it it’s what it is. I just took it at face value and tried to ignore the age
Some good swoony scenes and great banter. I do love this author.
Excellent read. I absolutely loved Reaper and Natalie’s story ❤️❤️❤️ She didn’t trust, she was scared, touching made her nerves jump. Reaper felt protective of her straight away. They are soul mates. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you won’t be disappointed 😎
Solid 3.75 stars, the last 40% is where it got good so I’m glad I stuck it out. It was a little too love at first sight for me but I’m excited for the rest of the books in this series. 🖤
I really love MC novels, but this one was just amazing. Such great character development and does so good at portraying the struggles the FMC goes through and works through. I’m totally sucked in to this world now and can’t wait to finish this series!
A dark and entertaining read filled with secrets and lies and weighed down by bad blood that has had years to fester. I loved the quick character crossover and nod to the author’s other series. I hope we get to see them again throughout this new addictive MC series.
From the moment I started this book I knew there was something special about it. I was immediately addicted. Like could not put it down addictive. I wanted everything it could give me addictive. And I absolutely hated that the book came to an end.
Don’t get me wrong, I loved the end. I just hated that it did end. Everything is nicely (mostly) wrapped up for both Reaper and Natalie. There is still a bit of trouble that doesn’t get resolved so you know it will come back to bite them in the arse at some point. But in the meantime, we get Wrath’s story next. And oh boy I cannot wait for it.
This was definitely a slowburn romance. But with everything that Natalie had been through, it was better this way. And even still, this book was throwing off some major heat. Of course, that is a Cala Riley book for you. They write some beautiful and spicy shiz.
Absolutely a great story. The wait for Wraith will be torture but I look forward to what he and his leading lady has for us. I just know it will be epic! 5 Stars!
I have not read a good MC romance in a long time, so it was a nice change. I’d give it a 4.5, but it mostly was cause there was one thing I didn't feel Was resolved. Now, there is a sequel, so I’m hoping this issue is resolved or a part of the plot in that one. I really do I look forward to Wrath coming soon.
The steam was mild for me, but a lot of that was due to the trauma Natalie faced with the abusive ex. But the scenes could be a little more detailed and explicit for my own personal taste. There are triggers, but nothing too descriptive. Reaper was completely swoon-worthy and worshiped his Queen. It was a typical MC romance, and everything you love and expect is in it.
The whole crew I liked a lot and look forward to Wrath and Colts stories. There are a few others you meet I did hope we get stories from, including Reaper's sister.
This one was a good MC read, it was quite soft for me, as I do tend to go for the grittier reads but it was a well written story with some good characters.
My main criticism is the dramatic bit, that the book was building to was kind of anticlimactic but I’m thinking there might be more the story of where William went? I dunno, maybe??
Also I liked the fact that this book actually engaged with the different women within a club, not just the usual sweetbutts bad - old ladies good.
Have already added Wrath (the next book) to my WTR, as I have hopes that’ll like that one even more.
For anyone who loves a more safe MC book (but not completely safe TW: domestic abuse) then I’m sure this will be a 5 star read for you.
