In a town steeped in secrets and a legacy of blood one man rules the underworld the places where others fear to tread. He deals in retribution and sacrifice upon a throne crave from blood and steel until a real life angel stumbles upon his lair. He doesn't want redemption, just her body and her soul. She's such a good girl... Now, she's going to be a very good f*cking girl for me.
I am Angel Cruz. I own the underworld of this town, I will own Easy Love too. She is mine to claim. Mine to conquer Mine to corrupt. Praying won't help you little girl, but I will let you kneel for me. I don't want your salvation. I won't give you any mercy. Soft smiles won't soothe this savage, nor will gentle touches, or your eager moans. You see, I've already fallen from heaven and I can't trust it, even if I find it in your arms. There is no goodness in this place steeped in blood and betrayal. Just because you are too good to be true won't make me love you. You never should have come here. To this dark, twisted place, I reside but it's too late now, because no matter how much you beg I can't let you go.

This was incredibly long, longer than it needed to be based on the actually development of the relationship. A romance about two people completely inexperienced in relationships and no communication skills you can bet your bottom dollar that despite how hot this was, and whatever other tropes you want to assign, what you’re getting is a 350 pages of miscommunication. I have been looking for a bad guy and good girl crime or urban romance for a while and this definitely checked that box. As well as plus size fmc, grumpy - sunshine and possessive alpha-hole, hates everyone but her. I just would have liked one or both of them would have explained why they both kept up with the push and pull. This one of those reads that if you pull the smex out, I’m not sure the story could stand up on its’ on. But with that being said I did enjoy it, I just didn’t love it, and it was so close to being the story I’ve been craving but it fell short at times and that was super disappointing.
Firstly, I beg of you Mrs. Goree-Bell, GET AN EDITOR AND PROOFREADER!!! If you have them, sorry to say that they aren't doing you any favors (maybe actually ask, wait for and implement feedback from ARC readers?). Spelling mistakes. Grammar mistakes. Missing words. Incorrect words AND phrases/phrasing. Plot inconsistencies. The biggest kicker for me was the inconsistencies of character points (Jules became June mid book)! Even the MMCs name wasn't consistent (he's Angel Cruz but then he's Angel Caido?). Or not realising that there's no need to refer to Angel as "The" El Presidente or "The" El Diablo. Honestly, after the frustration of how error-prone Bad Guy was, I shouldn't have bothered but as I received an early ARC copy and was WARNED that it was UNEDITED, I was fine with just reviewing the story (even though frustrating). BUT after borrowing the released copy (because of an added prologue and epilogue), I found all the same errors and problems that were in my supposed unedited ARC. How can you expect people to pay their hard earned money for such consistently subpar product. It feels really disrespectful to readers frankly. The ideas are good and enjoyable but the reading experience is horrific and unnecessarily bad. The (plot) pros don't outweigh the (execution) cons when mistakes are constant and don't seem to be improving book to book.
******* Easy and Angel's story takes place alongside events of multiple other books written by Goree-Bell (as well as setup for following stories). Easy is a typical Goree-Bell FMC in that she is greatly naive, overachieving yet young (?). I'm not 100% sure about that because no ages were mentioned but all Goree-Bell's FMC come off EXTREMELY immature despite age. She's virginal (literally in this case), lacking in backbone and self esteem (especially regarding attractiveness to the MMC in comparison to other women), eager for domination and in a state of near constant worry about how she's seen/perceived particularly by her family and, again, the love interest. Easy also happens to be a meek librarian and orphan. She grew on me a bit. Angel is the typical "dark" MMC who is rich, emotionally stunted, has a temper, well endowed, possessive, domineering and a "villain" with good intentions. I liked him quite a bit especially as I found the MMC in book 1 boring and one-dimensional. I'd call this book a opposites attract, biker, pleasure (k*nk) awakening with a smidge of marriage of convenience (as unbelievable as that convenience is 😆). Easy has an accident and finds herself at the mercy of a local motorcycle club and before you can say contrivance, married to its president, Angel aka El Diablo.
So to the things I liked. I liked that Angel was a "what you see is what you get" kind of guy that stayed true to himself (and Easy) throughout. It was refreshing and funny how upfront he was, even though he was stressed, busy and baffled by his connection to Easy. He was also lethal which I enjoyed as well. As always Mrs. Goree-Bell excels at having MMCs with the dirtiest mouths! I liked (most) of the freedom Easy had as she learned things she liked in the bedroom. As stated above, she read as very immature and naive but her submission and enjoyment of that submission with Angel was a facet that was nice and I wish more was explored there. The pacing of this book was heaps better than it's predecessor which kept me engaged in the story even when being forced out of it by the errors.
The not good of this read was the AWFUL 3rd act breakup and it's quite abrupt (dare I say lazy) resolution. Let me say that miscommunication is one of my biggest pet hates in books because it's the laziest shortcut to building supposed tension or angst. Who are these adult people that don't ask questions or want clarification or make decisions in the most ridiculous of ways? Easy does something in the 3rd act that was so unbelievable and stupid and out of character (from everything that came before) and was so annoying. More annoying than what happened was the resolution. Can we please stop having FMCs selfishly use children against MMCs. Sometimes authors want the DRAMA!!! of a plot point but they don't really think about if it ultimately serves the HEA and for me, Easy's actions (and Angel's uncharacteristic acquiesce) ruined my comfort in the couple. Such a bummer. I found that the steamy scenes were a bit repetitive as well. Could have written more characterisation or connection instead of using time jumps (and written a MUCH BETTER GROVEL FROM EASY 😂😂) . I also have grown tired of the too close knit, everyone's related Shelby-Love town stuff and the ever expanding cast of characters and the rehashing of plots from previous books.
Overall, a fun ride again ruined by errors.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶/5
I want to be clear: this book has some dark elements, but I found it to be surprisingly sweet. Don't get me wrong, this book is very SPICY. This book really was a journey and I believe that could have been explored even more- even with the book being 700+ pages. It felt seamless and I think Kenya Goree-Bell has truly outdone herself with this one. (If you love the spice in this one, definitely read Bad Guy.) For a woman of belief and conviction, Ezekiel-Jane AKA Easy, was such a relatable and surprisingly open-minded character. I felt as though she handled her situation in a very believable way; as well as far better than I would. That's for sure. Angel is as his nickname indicates, the Angel of Death, but he really does have shockingly clear morals and is simple in objective. He loves himself some Easy and Lord help anyone who gets in between him and his Lady. Angel and Easy were thrust together in less than ideal circumstances, but I found myself really rooting for them. For a dark romance, this novel was heartwarming. I don't believe you have to have read all of KGB's books beforehand, but I did enjoy that Bad Guy, Always Be My Maybe, and Easy Like a Sunday Morning all were within the same time frame. It made it a lot easier to connect all of the many Loves and potentially new stories to come from the town of Shelby-Love. This book had dark material and I definitely recommend reading all of the content warnings- but I left the book feeling warm. I still felt like I could read more from this couple. If you are on TikTok or Instagram, I definitely recommend following KGB. She markets books in such a fun and accessible way. She is a fun content creator in addition to being a very talented and versatile author. I recommend reading all of her books - I have loved every single one. I will be transparent and say that I did receive an ARC of this book, but I can definitely say that I do anticipate buying this one to add to my collection of Kenya Goree-Bell classics. I read this entire book in the span of an evening and it definitely was a seamless read.
Again, this book is dark. It has murder and mayhem. It has some *EXPLICIT* material and you should definitely check in on yourself before reading, but it was so good. So well written and I left the book really hoping that they have a beautiful life together. At this point I have read all of KGB's books and I do have to say that Easy Like a Sunday Morning, like Bad Guy, is darker than the Mogul Series or Adored. I loved it. These are my opinions and I hope you have a happy time reading.
I don’t even know where to start with this. This book was freaking amazing. Angel was exactly what we wanted and needed him to be. I loved Ezekiel James and how she found herself and her sexuality. Lord this book was hot.
I was not happy about how they had to get married. I also understood why it had to happen. It was an archaic rule to have but it worked out for them. I think my favorite seggs scene was the library. You’ll figure it out when you read it.
Having said all that, yes it was spicy AF. It was also very well written. It had a great story to it. The only thing I was upset about was with Ezekiel Jane leaving without talking to Angel first. He deserved a little bit better than what he got there. He also lost his ever loving mind. Ladies and gents please show her love and buy it. Read it. Enjoy it. It was better than bad guy, and I LOVED bad guy. OK I’m done. See y’all next time.
At this rate I’m just here for the unhinged ride of Kenya Gores Bell unhinged male main characters! But the mouth on Angel in this book is top tier!! This man takes dirty talking and killing men over his woman to the next level!
DNF’d at 48%. I tried for over two weeks but I couldn’t force myself to go any further.
Not only is this book poorly edited with numerous mistakes, it reads like a middle-aged Facebook mom googled “what slang are young folk using these days” and tried to fit as much of it into the book as possible.
It’s SO cringy. These are all grown, established people in a completely different path of life trying to talk like me. I got pulled out of the immersion every single time slang was used because of how it never really matched the context. I GUARANTEE you that a group of 30+ year olds in a biker club full of murderers, r*pists, drug runners, etc. are not out here talking like they’re leaving comments on a Tiktok video. If you’re going to try and pander to a specific generation, please do more than 10 minutes of research on it.
The spicy scenes were even cringier! “My whole pants leg was wet from your girl come.” “… his head is in-between my legs licking up all my girl come.” What?? WHO says THAT??
The author also tries to pander to a bit of leftist ideology which I would normally praise, but it’s done in such a way it almost feels like mockery… almost as if they were pandering again and not writing from what they know. This book has nothing to do with politics, no. At least not our kind of politics, but still. Little comments and remarks sprinkled about that you don’t really notice until you have to read something over again, which you do a lot in this book.
That aside, there’s a lot of fluff. There are chapters filled with paragraph after paragraph that feels like the author is trying to find a balance between upping the page count and boring you to death. I’d literally skip 2-3 pages in some instances and still be in the same dialogue without missing an ounce of context. We’re also given backstory on the most mundane things for no reason at all because it doesn’t seem like we ever need to reference the information at any point later on.
I can’t think of a single thing I liked about this book outside of the location it takes place. I wish I could be more constructive, I really do, but this truly feels like a rough draft.
Is it a perfect book? Absolutely not. But it is hands down, a five-star book. There are so many things that I hate in other books that I adore in this book. There are so many little things that I would knock off points for in other books (typos, etc.) that I completely give a pass to in this book. I don't care. Five stars.
MCs and mobsters? Hate them elsewhere, love it here. Why? Because the author provides a WHY. She doesn't sugarcoat, gloss over, or glorify but at the same time, she does a great job of showing how some people end up on these paths while also not glorifying and still keeping me engaged. And she shows the interconnectedness of the criminal underworld which I enjoyed. Doesn't waste paragraphs on it (which I also enjoyed) but enough lines to be informative.
Insta-love? More like insta-obsession and insta-lust and that makes it interesting. The push/pull. There is a real possibility of could it be a HFN or HEA and I liked that. Insta-love but with angst and genuine stakes.
A lot of sex scenes? Oh yeah, a whole lot. And normally I am a sex scene skimmer but the sex scenes are actually part of the story and tell you something about the character. They are not just for getting your rocks off (but boy do they!) it's for showing who they are and how they grow to love each other.
Are there typos? Tons of them. I don't care. 5 stars. Because the story is standalone but interconnected there is even a line or two repeated from other books. Again. I don't care. 5 stars. I only found those lines because these two characters are so compelling that I want to read more about them so I rushed out to read the snippets about them in other books. I will now take the time to read the other books.
And for my myth girlies, the elements of a H&P retelling are in the details and it's wonderful. Again. 5 stars.
I didn’t know how crazy the story would get. I liked it surprisingly so different from what I’m used to but the storyline is a yes cause I felt like I was married to a cartel member lol. I left him and found me in Africa and brought me and our baby back home lol. Didn’t know this was a series lol. I didn’t like how they were running away from the relationship but I can’t talk lol
This book is really good. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline . Angel is one of my favorite characters this year. I just had to change it to a 5 star because this book is my brand of dark…
Kenya G Bell sure did deliver with Easy like Sunday Morning. I enjoyed this book from the beginning to end and I’m definitely looking forward to Nikki’s story
This was a good story that took some fun and unexpected twists and turns. I was really frustrated with the very poor editing. I don’t mind some typos, the occasional odd comma, etc. But this book just had so very many easily fixed ones that it pulled me from the story frequently. Just one more read through from beginning to end by the author or a beta reader would catch a ton of them. It’s too bad as it took a solid four star read down to a three. I won’t go down stars for editing/formatting normally but this was prevalent and distracting and this is not a new author.
The book is interesting and I thoroughly enjoyed Angel as a male character. He stayed true to himself almost the entire time. Unfortunately I struggled a lot more with Ezequiel Jane. Her naivety was overplayed. Basically she put herself in danger, and even after she was warned she kept putting herself and others in danger. Her hot and cold attitude was annoying. Worse, her inability to communicate was frustrating. At first it was over small things such as what she wanted from Angel, next it was coming clean to her family, not telling Angel about seeing Rudy about town and lastly disappearing for months instead of asking key questions. The ending fell short to me. She should have had to do a lot more to get forgiveness after the drama and the hurt she caused.
Not sure I have read the same book as everyone else has here, but my life this was bad!
The story had so much potential so I read till the end but the character development is awful, so many stories tied into this with the most pointless characters that the author spends so much time writing about, with a lack of depth for the main characters in the story.
It made no sense to mention a church going virgin at 30 who pretty much just turns into a pornstar pretty much with no monologue behind how this would surely be portrayed in real life?! Pointless completely to add it in.
And the spelling/grammatical errors are so often, did no one sense check this book??
A knife wielding maniac who kills and chops heads off but I still can’t understand what his features are, his only feature was that he’s 6ft 5in.
EASY LIKE SUNDAY MORNING is my first book by this author and I loved it!
I loved Easy and Angel’s “Meet Cute” *cough cough* and the chemistry between them. The romance and spice was sizzling. The storyline was interesting. Not to mention ELSM hit so many of my trope buttons.
Tropes & Kinks: —Forced proximity —Forced marriage —Chasing —Spanking —Exhibition —Pregnancy —Size difference —Black FMC —Curvy FMC —Biker gang & more!
*Please note, EASY LIKE SUNDAY MORNING does need more editing for typos and sentence structuring but the storyline was so interesting it didn’t deter me. I would normally DNF but I was way too invested in Angel and Easy’s story.
Dnf'd at 9% I love Unhinged and Dominance. But not rapey vibes. Like off bat just taking womens choices from them.... not my cup of Tea. She happened upon them for help because her car broke down and is hurt. But now has no choice and has to be claimed by one man in a mc gang or all of them. And has to be in front of everyone. Literally forced to have sex (and shes a virgin) and get a tattoo of a Randoms man's name. This is literally a book on a gang of rapist. And got nerve to act like he does good for kids and such by stopping the sell of them. But yet yall just raping women. She came for help not to be abused and for consent to be taken from her.
This book had a lot of potential, but due to a lot of grammatical errors, words that didn't make sense in the sentence & spelling mistakes, I almost DNF it 33% into the book. Only reason I continued with it was to find out more of Angels back story, this book could have been a good read if someone actually editted the work.
The FMC was a real piece of work, I didn't like her at all, she came off as a liar, indecisive, untrustworthy & so easy to find fault with the MMC. What she did was unforgivable, he should have ended it with her.
Plus-sized sweet librarian meets a bada** mc president who wants what he wants and doesn't give a damn what others have to say. Grumpy/ Sunshine book that will not disappoint you. Kenya has done it again sucking me into her dark romance world. Spicy scenes that she but in her books are always top tier.
I love a story from the South but this tale is so intricate and the characters are three dimensional and it’s just a tapestry of beauty. I adored this series and I look forward to finishing the series.
I was okay with him saying she had a fat Pusey, but I couldn’t get past him telling her he was going to “nut” in her. I felt like teenage boy locker room talk - yuck!
Ok, WOW!!! Angel de la muerte is definitely DADDY!!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I have held this book for a little bit in my TBR not only because this is my first time reading this author but also book one didn’t sound as good as this one and WOW, I am now mentally kicking myself to have waited because this, is the bomb and so beautiful. Besides my favorite genre of Black Woman White Man, the interracial genre is another one of my favorite on a limited scale, but this book did not disappoint. Ezekiel-Jane was so cute and Angel complimented her so well. One night while driving, she got car trouble and looking for help walk straight to the lion cage where the only way out was either dead or get claimed/bought. Lucky for her she got the top dog to claim her and so becomes her full story. Everything was perfect in this story except that almost ending where Easy calls herself leaving Angel(so stupid and dumb), but to ended up there that was ridiculous and so immature and pointless and dangerous. I also was hoping to see how Easy was going to make Angel tame but I was also ok with how the author stirred this ship for us because it was beautiful to see an alpha, gangster, vicious outlaw go to bat for his woman…. Beautiful and romantic. I will not continue because I will definitely spill the beans on this book and I truly believe that you need to get this book and experience this gem yourself. That first scene OMG 😱, soooooo good 👍!!!! On a side note, I can’t wait to read about these cousins because baby, they are a whole town. Now Kandie should have been punished more, because she started it all but we see it didn’t happened except that Angel went full blown Biker MC on them👍😊. Now I love that Rudy got what he got . Then came my appreciation for Snake, Padre, Rocco, Ellie, Saban, and these darn cousins with the top to be Oz. Now that’s another “what a man, just like Angel”. I love how for once the apology was not accepted at once. It took some time!!! Ok I am done… Get this book, YOU will not be disappointed unless all of this erotic, and blood is not for you. There are some if not enough of grammatical errors but it was so good that this was not my priority….
I gasped at the prologue... I already knew my mind was about to be blown! Kenya set this up definitely Mayans MC style and I was intrigued from the start. Laugh out loud moments with Mama-Pete... "Miss me on that," and Pa Pete. I thoroughly enjoyed this captivating story. Mafia is my favorite but I must say this is MC at it's BEST!!! I LOVED the Alabama mentions. Bama Queens stand up!! Ezekiel-Jane really came into her own. We really got to feel all that she felt.
I absolutely can't wait for the next story in the Blood Legacy series, and I'm so excited about Saban's journey as well. I'll be over here not so patiently waiting for this gifted author to bless us with more words.... "If the Lord stay the same," in my Mama-Pete voice lol. No spoilers over here, but FYI Angel can definitely commence to worshiping you... someone grab the tambourine lol. Angel can bully my pu$$y anydayyyyyy lol. I'll take a Latino Papi, if it's in God's will.
So this is a first when I make it to the 90% mark and don't finish it BUT still rate it a 4 and not as a DNF.
The thing is, it's actually well written and a good story. It's also probably the dirtiest talking MC I've ever read. What's REALLY weird is there are books where the MC is a "dirty talker" and it's a lot of description of what they want to do, or what they're thinking or feeling or something like that. There's lots of talk in these books about sex, sex acts, etc which IS technically dirty talking. But THIS guy here. He's a CRUDE dirty talker. His frequent use of certain words even threw me and I've read a lot. A. Lot. It's crude. It's honestly, a little secondhand embarrassment for me. But it's honest to the character.
I also even overlooked the very beginning where the MC basically "takes her" in front of all his gang members. And she's ok with it. Normally I can't stand that and in this case I still wasn't a fan of it. I overlooked it because the author does talk about that instant connection combined with his crude self and her upbringing from a very religious family.
So the story was good. The characters crude and true to themselves. But for whatever reason I could NOT finish it but I knew it was nothing against the story. I've just had issues finishing stories for awhile and simply gave up on anything that I've had outstanding on my kindle.
If 'I would scorch the earth for you' was the type of man you were looking for look no further than Angel "de la muerta" Cruz! He is not heavily, he is fallen and I am fallen right there with him. Call me toxic if you'd like but I am a fiend for this man! Please braid my hair, feed me and tell me I am pretty, I beg!
This is a MC, Cartel, Forced Marriage, Dark romance that holds no punches. Ezekiel-Jane stumbled into the wrong bar on the right night, because she lands in the hands of the El Presidente in order to save her skin. Her innocent and light calls to his ruthlessness and darkness. Make no mistakes, the damsel in distressed doesn't turn to this monster into man. He is him to the very end and make sure everyone knows not to cross him or there will be hell to pay.
While you don't have to read the other books in this universe before reading this one, it would help give good context to the inner workings of the small town of Shelby-Love. I loved getting to see the storyline we learned about in Bad Guy and hearing about Fade and Santiago. I cannot wait to read Darling Nikki and get the full extend of the Shelby-Love feud.
Content warnings for: Trafficking, Death of a Parent (off page), abduction, attempted rape, murder, alcoholism, and more.
Ezekiel-Jane aka Easy to her family and friends comes home to visit her grandparents on her way back home her car stops on a dark road and she believes her car could catch fire so she walks in the dark where she sees a light but then she finds the light is a gas station that is closed but she hears loud music from another building and someone tries to talk to her as she walks up but she is so upset that all she wanted was a phone to call family so she pushes her way through the doorway. Unfortunate for her it is the MC clubhouse the first one to see her inside is the club President but he doesn't say anything next thing one of the old members is trying to claim her for the club but after seeing how frightened and how he was treating her something inside of him made him claim her as his own but she has no idea what this really will mean for her but he never lies to her. Easy is not listening to anything he Angel is saying to her because she just wants to get away but she finds it is not going to be as easy as she assumes because she has literally been claimed. An interesting love story with lots of miscommunication, distrust, betrayal, and true love. I read a copy without obligation. I volunteered an honest review.
Whoever the editor was missed a few spots in this book and it needs a review (spelling, duplicate words, etc…)
The story wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great. I like the grumpy sunshine stories. I liked the premise and was super curious as to how this was going to play out. I though this was going to be an immediate enemies to lover kinda grumpy sunshine.
This was more of a “Ima roll wit it” kinda story.
It felt like the story itself was more of an after thought for the naughty scene. I think what I was missing was an emotional connection to the FMC, like she didn’t draw me in. She’s a role with the punches sunshine kinda girl and there’s nothing wrong with that but something about her character just didn’t click and I wanted it to. The MMC was ok, like I got more from him than her with less???
I knew I was losing interest when I’d imagine how these characters would react, or how a scene would play out, which is a bummer. The story felt drawn out and full of miscommunication by the middle and especially towards the end.
It’s my first time reading a book by Kenya Goree-Bell but I will give it another go.
