Stranded between planets in the aftermath of a deadly explosion, Lady Cristelle Inkton is waiting to be rescued. Not that it appears to be anyone’s top priority — because she’s supposed to be dead.
As captain of the salvage ship Lark, Merrick Reid is used to saving what — and who — he can. But when they bring in a safety pod carrying a woman and some impossible tech, he’s as confused as he is enchanted. Amidst his world of life and death decisions, Cristelle stands apart with startling simplicity. After all, her idea of an emergency is an ill-fitting dress.
As Lady Cristelle struggles to adapt to life on board the Lark, she quickly realizes the planets (and the captain’s plans) don’t revolve around her. With a bevy of secrets stowed in its hull, the Lark has other priorities. And a dead woman walking might just hold the key to the biggest one of all...
This is such a fun, beautiful book. While I loved book one, there's so much growth between this and book one. Hazel Vale is getting better and better with her writing. I'm sad this one is over, but it was also the perfect length. I'm obsessed. Agh. I almost want to reread it already. You should definitely check out this series. It's so good.
Lady Cristelle is a really easy character to dislike in book one, and starts book two just as self centered. Her character growth is so sweet and I loved reading her slowly transform from Lady Cristelle into Stelle: someone who would put others before herself, and dare to lose her heart somewhere between the stars.
Another beautifully written novel by Hazel! This one takes place in the same universe as her first book, but follows Lady Cristelle on her journey to get home after a space ship explosion.
Hazel knows how to weave together romance and action to create a book that will keep you reading and wanting to know more. I love how this book weaves together with her first novel.
Another great read by Hazel. Stelle has quite a story and such character development of all the characters throughout the book. Can't wait to add this to my bookshelf when it releases!
Loved this as much as the first book. Stelle becomes a lovable character and I liked getting insight into why she acted the way she did in the first book in this series. The writing flowed and the mystery of the accident and the salvage ship kept me reading. A really great read!
