Little disappointed
Little disappointed that the story seemed to end without giving readers closure , is Cadey pregnant ? , what happened when Jarod Cross found out about the marriage ? Did they manage to beat jarod cross ... So many unanswered questions , very disappointing

the plot
i hated the plot of this book so much. Dutch Cross (🤮) decides, yes, DECIDES, ON HIS OWN, that he’s going to impregnate and marry Cadence so that he can spite his father and get his grandmother’s inheritance. meanwhile, Cadence has no idea. he told her he would marry her. he gave her an expensive ring. in a box. [TOLD??] but she had no idea about the inheritance or the terms. because why would he tell her, right?? this is the plot of a horror story. not a romance. and why, after she finds out, she decides to marry him, i have no idea. that isn’t love.
After taking her virginity and leaving my version of handcuffs on her kitchen table, I figured Cadey would need some space to think.
… how romantic😒😦🙄

she was the same cadence i loved in the other 2 books until around 80%? or whenever it was that she thought ’I want him to rescue me’ because, while there’s obviously nothing wrong with wanting to be helped, why is she suddenly a damsel in distress that needs ‘saving’. yes, she’s been through a lot. and, yes, she deserves to be helped, and protected, and she shouldn’t have to shoulder all of those burdens alone. but, saved?? no. she didn’t need saving. she just needed help. and, ANYONE in this book probably would’ve been a better ‘saviour’ than dutch cross. i loved her at the start and hated her at the end.
her character was ruined.

neither is love. not really. because that isn’t fucking love. that’s a love for control. i don’t care what shit was spewed in the last 15% about how he loves her and blah and blah. because he sure as hell didn’t show it. not well. not really.

do you get deja vu? because i do. dutch threw cadence over his shoulder one too many times.
Miss Jamieson shrieks as Zane scoops her up and throws her over his shoulder. I watch her heels kick up and down. I watch her skirt ride up. I watch her pinch Zane and I see Zane smack her backside in retribution.
hopefully he’s a better character than he’s currently being presented as… my hopes are low.

then he set the fire. serena got expelled for it. he let the Kings (cross brothers) cover for him, he did eventually come clean but?? is arson ever really the answer?? like i get having pent up rage. and the need to feel like you’re in control. and needing an outlet for your anger. but setting a fire is not the answer. especially, if it’s control that you’re after.
i still feel bad for him. he’s been through a lot, and he deserves happiness. but😐😐 no. i don’t like him.

This entire series was a waste of my time. It was semi good but everything in here was so toxic omg. Both Dutch and Cadence were so toxic, Dutch wanted everything without even telling her he loved her. It was crazy. It was giving gossip girl vibes I will say i love the possessiveness but I feel like everything that happened was so pointless and so many storylines were left unfinished. I will say that Sol and Breeze are my favorite, i’d marry both of them. Overall curse TikTok and it’s little quotes for this.

I don't really write reviews, but I just had to for this book. I loved the last two books in the series, I was so excited to see more cute scenes between Cady and Dutch, but it was also so frustrating to read, they're okay one moment, and then the next second they're not, they could not be at peace together for more than 5 minutes, so it was sudden towards the end when they're all good, I get there was a lot of buildup for it, but I was really hoping to see them actually be at peace with each other, and see some cute moments, it what kept me wanting to keep reading.
Next, I really hope she's not pregnant, the poor girl has already gone through so much, like can she not catch a break, I mean she's already taken care of her sister her whole life, and now she has a baby on the way?
The author also leaves us with so many unanswered questions that should have been answered already, I know I did not just binge three books to be given nothing, and I know all loose ends are going to be tied up in Zane's book, but I don't really like him or his trope, yeah he was funny for a few moments, but everything still should have been tied up with Cady and Dutch.
Just the ending was abrupt, and I'm really mad so I had to rant. I love the author but cmon, it gave nothing.

Everything was going great then everything went downhill the last 20% of this book 🙄.
Saying this was disappointing doesn't even begin to explain it.🙄😒
The last 20% of this book also made me hate Candace 😐. Instead of running away she could have just confronted Dutch🤷🏾♀️...you know like a normal person 😶.
But I'll give her leeway because she's in highschool but still🤦🏾♀️.
She knows that Dutch and his father are not on good terms but she still went to perform for the guy💀. Girl---💀🤣.
I literally wanted to throw my kindle at the wall.
The ending was so rushed it was like the author just wanted it to be done so that she could move on to the second couple....which is Zane and (I don't really remember her name) 🤣🤣.

Honestly, I didn’t think that I would like the ending to this trilogy. I thought it would either be WAY too rushed or full of the cheesy lovey dovey crap. Because Duh? How can a series be so freaking good that you literally love EVERYTHING about it?!! I was waiting for the catch...
But, DAMN did the author do a decent job with this book.
The enemies to lovers over the past 3 books was immaculate. Tbh, this is one of the few enemies to lover’s books that I’ve read with an actual FREAKING ENEMIES TO LOVERS STORYLINE!!!!
It wasn’t 70% love and 30% hate, heck no. I’d say a solid 90% of all three books was the enemies part.
And I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT.
“Do you think I’m stupid?” The word snaps with the vehemence of a rubber band flying from a slingshot. “You can’t decide one day you’re going to hate me and randomly switch to liking me. That’s not how this works.”
“You think I wanted this?” He hisses. “You think I woke up one day and thought I want some girl to have my heart by the freaking throat?”
My breath hitches.
“I didn’t have a freaking choice in this either, Cadence. The minute you walked into my life, my whole universe shrank down to the size of a single point and I haven’t been able to see anything else.” He rises and glares down at me. “So yeah, continue to be freaking uncomfortable. Because so the hell am I.”

Cadey is such an amazingly resilient character, she deserves SO much more than the shitty life she'd dealing with.
Overall, I felt as though this book really focused on Dutch’s love towards Cadey more. The pent up anger and emotions were sky high from Cadey, we can see her crumbling under all the fucked up things that are happening. Dutch on the other hand, is trying to get Cadey to see that he really does love her. The whole, “love” feeling is new to him too, but he realizes that he would give up everything, just to have Cadey.
Cadey, having her traumatic back-story, refuses to accept that Dutch does actually love her and honestly? I totally get it, she’s had to mother her younger sister her whole life, been working to keep a roof over their heads and food on their table, is trying to prove her friend has been framed as an arsonist, had Dutch try to mess up her life before and then has to deal with her psychotic druggie mum who's come back from the 'dead'
OF COURSE SHE DOESNT FUCKING BELIEVE HIM!
But GUYS!! DUTCH CROSS!!!!
“You’re killing me, Brahms,” he murmurs. To my surprise, he gently brushes a strand of hair away from my face. “Damn it.”
“I don’t know what’s going on,” Dutch murmurs. “And you don’t have to tell me, but I’m here for you.”
His words are gentle, but his grip on me is firm.
Damn. It.
Damn, damn, damn.
I don’t want to feel a thing.
I want to be numb.
I want to be alone.”
Caring for someone else means taking more from me to give to another.

BUT, there was one thing I didn’t like about this book...
Dutch should have told Cadey about the deal, she had the full right to know. And it just pissed me off that he didn’t tell her.
Other than that, this book was SO GOOD!
The ending both had me grinning like a maniac (even though I thought Cadey and Dutch's ending was kinda rushed) and then reeling the next second. Like what the actual FUCK?
I need therapy after all these insane plot twists and cliff-hangers.

I read the first book in the series last year. At the time, my mindset was a bit different. I ate the first 2 books so quick.I loved it, but the third book (this book) took me a while to finish, so I left it, and now I am finally finished.

At this point, there’s no need for me to deny that i’m addicted to this series. The writing wasn’t necessarily good, i could even say it was messy for some parts but boy, was it addictive? I can’t seem to put down my kindle.
This is the third book in a series and the final one for Dutch and Cadence. It’s the continuation right after the second book ended. I don’t even know what i just read tbh but i know i was hooked(i mean i sticked through all of it till book three so that says something). In this book there were many random things happened out of nowhere and there were also not being resolved as they should. It’s like the author decided to throw everything around just to prolong the book without any much thought on how to conquer them all. Like i said earlier, the writing was questionable. It could be better and if i’m being honest, the book about Dutch and Cadence could actually end at book two.
Okay, why i gave 4 stars you asked? Simple. I love all the MCs here. I love Cadence Cooper. I love Dutch Cross. I love the Cross boys, Finn and Zane. God, especially Finn(I need his book like yesterday already!). I love Viola Cooper. I love Breeze. I love Serena. Basically all the characters that matter. They were all likable in my opinion. Also, the effort Dutch did here in book three in order for him to win Cadence won me over too. I mean c’mon he’s only 18 so what he did deserved at least a little recognition. I don’t expect much so i’m happy with the effort shown. I can feel the chemistry between brewing since the very beginning. I love them being together though Dutch can be a little toxic but thats what fictional world for, no?

The only thing i did not enjoy is the ending. WTF WAS THAT CLIFF HANGER?! I mean this is supposed to be the end of Cadence and Dutch book before we move to the next about Zane Cross but it did not feel like the ending of them. How am i supposed to live with that ending? The ending felt rushed to me. I was waiting for something big, happily ever after kinda ending after all that they have been through but NOTHING. I mean she could stop at the wedding, i could still accept that but she decided to play around with my heart and chose to end them with a cliff hanger. Erghhhhh

4.75 stars. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. WOW. I literally have no words. Dutch went ALL OUT. It was a complete 180 to the first two books. Like the man is WHIPPED. Manz is thinking about her 24/7, following her EVERYWHERE, he's 10x more protective and possessive. And he's willing to do anything to show her that he's all in. That he cares about her more than anything else in this world. And of course she's helpless to fall but she fights it every step of the way even though you see she slowly starts to accept it. Like the date with Dutch, Cadence and Viola, ugh so cute. And the airport scene?? Tell me, why did my eyes start to get blurry? And when they finally get together?? Ughhhh, it's like I could finally breathe, after everything they put me through. And the deleted scene?? It gave me life. Why is he so freaking ROMANTIC?!?! And then the cliffhanger??? Crazy. You can best believe I’m reading the fourth book to get answers even though their story is over. Like I need answers please to a couple questions. Like give me some more Sol.

My thing is I’m so conflicted with this series . It definitely is stretched out for no reason . Cadence and Dutch’s story could have been two books max if they just would communicate . I get it’s a bully romance / enemies to lovers / slow burn , but it was unnecessarily dragged out .
I love that we got a lot of plot in this , however I feel like it’s still so many plot holes and their love story feels unfinished just for the next two to not even focus on them .

What did I just read.
This was RIDICULOUS. I enjoyed the first two books, but this was just,,,,, It felt like the author tried to shove as many plots/tropes into this books as she could. When I crossed that 40% mark (even before that actually) I was ready to give up and knew that this was gonna be a disappointment. But I kept reading cuz I wanted to know how the author was gonna resolve all of this.
The amount of red flags I've witnessed reading this book is insane. Dutch Cross is a literal walking red flag.
The whole will plotline, more specifically one of the requirements, was so unnecessary, it looked like a poorly done sex ed PowerPoint presentation you get in school.
Being a YA novel, I can see why the author wanted to include it, but this ain't it, this is not how you're supposed to do it.....
I know neither Zane nor Finn are innocent, but ngl Finn>>>> I need a book about him please, he's a whole mood.
The best quote of this book is most definitely

If you think Dutch and Cadey's relationship is a healthy one, you need a reality check.
Out of context, some of the scenes between them two actually did look cute, which is why I just conveniently forgot about the whole plot when I read a cute scene that I thought was really nice.
As for the ending, there was so many things left unanswered (main one being who the f*ck Jynx is, seriously, that was the one thing motivating me to finish this trash, even tho I knew they weren't gonna reveal it), and the ending scene was just ???? ಠ ل͟ ಠ

I wish I was giving this story more than a 3 but the ending was just not it.
The first two books were so good at building a true enemies to lovers so even when I had to endure two entire books of them hating each other I stuck through it to see them finally together and thinking it would be worth it. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. These could have been made into one story in my opinion.
Three books of Cadence and Dutch hating each others guts and going back and forth doing the most vile things and we only get one chapter of them finally being together. Even then it’s interrupted by a cliffhanger. Not to mention we don’t even get an epilogue which we should’ve gotten to explain everything that was left unsaid.
Sol should have gotten some closure like Hunter did. Is Cadence pregnant? Was Serena’s mom able to afford chemo? What actually happened that made Cadence’s mother fake her own death?
Also how did we gloss over the fact that Dutch tricked Cadence into getting pregnant for an inheritance he didn’t even need because he already makes so much money off of his music. He was willing to create a child just to piss of his dad and he never finds anything wrong with it.
My last and final complaint is that Zane is getting a story, possibly with Miss Jamieson as the other main character. Don’t get me wrong I loved her but Zane lying about his age and having illegal sex with her is throwing me off to their possible ‘romance’. Maybe if the fmc is someone his own age i’d consider going through another three books just to see them together for one chapter.
What I will be interested in reading though is Jinx and Finn’s story if they end up having one. I still have a feeling Jinx is Serena and the reason she made an app was to afford her mothers chemo. Finn was the star of the show even when he was always in the shadows of everyone’s story so I’m hoping we get to see him and Jinx have a happily ever after as well.

I loved this book series and I’d highly recommend it. I loved how this author wrote Dutch’s obsession and Cadence’s feistiness.
There is definitely a lot more to uncover in this series and I am down for it.

“We are going to be that couple” he grinds out.
“Mary me” he growls. “Be my wife, Cadey.”
I tilt my head up. “Yes” 💍
“I don’t know what’s going on and you don’t have to tell me, but im here for you”

Who do I have to kill to make her smile?

The sight of it reminds me of the days when every mouthy response from her made me want to smash her into a nearby locker and drop her skirt to her ankles.

“Though you were skipping class without me, Brahms”
I stop and hide my arms behind my back. “Dutch.”
He notices and, immediately, his expression darkens.
He grabs me by the arm and drags it forward. I hiss in pain as his thumb squeezes one of the scratch lines.
“What the hell is this?”
I glance away “noting”
“Nothing?” His voice is low and tight
“I just… got into a fight with a nasty cat.”
“Where’s the cat?”
“It’s gone now.” I pull my hand back. “I handled it.”
“When are you going to trust me?” He whispers
“Trust you?”
“Did you really get mauled by a cat today?”
“Of course I did. Why would I lie about that?”
“You’re mine. I’ve made that clear. If someone hurts you, they hurt me.”
Later at lunch
“I-is that all?” Paris trembles
“One more thing”
To my surprise, Dutch grabs my wrist and yanks my arm up.
The cheerleaders flinches in response
“A feral cat made the mistake of putting her claws on my girl.”
“Your girl?” I hiss
“If that cat ever puts it’s hands on Cadence again, im going to hunt it down and cut each of it’s claws. Do you hear me?”
Paris blinks rapidly. “Y-yes.”

“What?”
“Close your eyes. Don’t think about anything. You’re safe here. Nothing will touch you. No one wil hurt you. You don’t have any responsibilities to anyone. Not for the next five minutes.”

This series was crazy, toxic, and so freaking addictive!
I fell so hard for this couple and I’m sad that this was their last book.
The ending makes me want to pick up the next one about the other brother because a lot of the story was left unanswered (but I heard not so great things about it so I’m still undecided)
