This book completely surprised me in the best way. I expected a dark serial killer thriller, but what I got was something much more psychological and character driven. Plot wise, I think this book was quite brilliant. The writing was hard to get through at some points and would benefit from more nuance when describing characters and avoiding certain clichés, especially regarding women, but I ultimately enjoyed it and look forward to seeing it on film! Also, it gets an extra star just for the final chapter.

Got this at a yard sale, not all that far from where the book takes place, for $1. Glad I didn't pay more for it, but maybe wish I had spent the time reading a better book. This one was kind of all over the place, and the surprise ending stopped being a surprise about half way through.
