Another excellent book in this great series. The writing was good and the editing was mostly good (did use the word deserts instead of desserts). I also very much enjoyed the Star Trek references and the "Inner Light" was one of my favorite episodes! There was action in this book, but the driving forces were the myriad of plots, subplots, conspiracies and surprises. They were crafted and executed very well. I also liked how the conflict between the mountain and the civil/military government was resolved. The set up for the next book was dropped at the end (though you guys are crazy for one of the people you decided to include).
With all the characters now all together, and all their separate tales collated, it seemed that this book was a little rushed and the storyline not as clear as when they were all converging to the same point. I thought the character of Candice, who I am sure will become far more important in the next book, just floated around with no real purpose but to look after Annika and felt she could have been better utilized. Having said that the rest of the storyline continued with many unexpected twists and turns and was riveting read and look forward to the next book with great interest and intrigue.
A president, with an Army split in two, one lot against him, and the others for him. And the President wanting to be supportive and gain access to the Mountain Complex. Civilians living in the complex trying to live in peace with no Privileged Inferiority or Hierarchy, working together rotating jobs that maintain their lives. Will there be a war between them, or not.
Journey to Colorado brings more problems. Characters continue to be strong. More twists and turns...surprises. Action continues to build. Excellent storyline continues and our group of heroes continues to be strong, together. This one is very difficult to put down.
I like this series and ready for it to end. Gotta see what happens to these characters and the world. I can’t give it 5 stars because there are moments in the book that are slow and boring. But…there are moments that have me on the edge of my seat. Can’t wait for (hopefully) the last of the series.
