Philippines-based illustrator Kerby Rosanes works mainly with ordinary black fine liners to magically illustrate his “doodle” world. Considers his art as a personal hobby which turned out to be his part-time freelance work after being recognized by various design blogs, international magazines and online art communities. Most of his works are characterized by whimsical lines, patterns, characters and little elements that are spontaneously combined to create massive compositions depicting his everyday inspirations or scenes from his quirky imagination.
I am a long-time fan of the work of the brilliant artist Kerby Rosanes. He crafts the most original, amazing, intricate designs which grant the untalented, like me, the ability to create something gorgeous through the application of color... This book is a compilation of his delightful designs, many of which I recognized from books I have collected previously - but the very nature of the coloring experience means that even the same drawing can become an utterly original piece through variations in color, and I love that it let me create multiple versions of some of my favorites! His work is always so beautiful - the designs are not for the faint of heart because they are so involved and detailed, but coloring them is nevertheless always a pleasure because the clear lines provide guidance and inspiration to colorists like me, even if (like me) one doesn't have an artistic bone in their body! It's a marvelous way to relax and unwind and craft something lovely...
