In a collection of short stories and poetry, Hamish Rose explores the emotional suppression they've struggled with their whole life. In addition to that, the stories told are the people who are ignored. There are too many books out there with stereotypical man/woman straight relationships. Hamish Rose focuses on writing what they feel into the words, rather than for people's approval. Orphic has all different things--poetry, stories of all genres, and even just quotes, but these stories are for everyone, no matter who they are or what they have.
This was a slay and no I’m not biased just because one of the poems in here is about me. 🙄
I enjoyed most of the poetry which is a difficult feat to accomplish considering I hate anything and everything poetic.
Also I’m in the acknowledgments so I’m better then you <3
On a much more serious note this book was incredible. I found myself unable to put it down. Words can not describe how incredibly proud I am of Hamish for finishing this book. Hamish, you are my soulmate. You are my best friend, my family, and my favorite ex. I love you more then words can describe. You’ve made so much progress and this book shows it, I’m so proud of you for being able to open up.
If you are tired of cishet centered books, this is for you. If you’re tired of no representation, this is for you. Most importantly, if you need an amazing work of fiction, this work is for you.
