"Do you know what smells better than fear?" His voice was a replica of the male. Deep, dark, and dangerous.
"What...?" she squeaked, terrified. He was standing so close to her.
"Lûst. Desire." He spat the words like they tasted terrible, his eyes cold, his face inscrutable. "The scent of your wètness is driving me insane. I can practically taste your hûñger for my çöçk." Then, he shocked them both. With a savage growl, his head lowered completely, and his mouth crashed down to hers. **************************************** Ismena Cranes has three months to live, according to her doctor. She was ready to throw in the towel until she learned of a man called god—a man who has the power to heal her damaged heart and make her live.
But he is no man, and she is his mate. Her road to healing is a very bumpy one because the alpha king of Naturiah does not want a mate, and also, he hates humans.
There are rumors…. Whispers around in secret—murmurs in pitch darkness of the most powerful 'man' in Naturiah. The most fearsome creature. The fiercest predator Naturiah ever has. A man who is the 'impossible.' Rumors have it that his powers and strength surpass all 'men.'
He is their alpha. Most species have an Alpha, but this 'man' is the alpha of all alphas. The ultimate alpha. The alpha king. They think of him as a god. He is respected like one. He is feared like one. They call him god.
Because he is a crossbreed between the two most powerful creatures, he has a mountain lion's strength and a werewolf's power. He can take the form of a mountain lion or a werewolf. Or a man. Why? Because he is a werewolf AND a mountain lion. His name is Wolfariane Daminor Throne. The alpha king of Naturiah.
When Kiss Leilani was twelve, she snuck into her older sister's room while she slept to steal one of her romance novels, curious to discover why her sister was always lost in a book. That single act of rebellion created a lifelong obsession.
From that moment, a chronic booknapper was born—one who blossomed into an avid reader and, over time, an equally passionate writer.
For Kiss Leilani, writing has since become more than a hobby; it’s a joy and an integral part of her life.
OMG get a proofreader!!! This book could have been so good but the struggle to read it was making me feel stupid. For some reason I think English isn’t the authors first language. I felt like I was reading a book that was translated through Google. It didn’t help that all the major characters also had hard to pronounce names. This book could have really benefited from proofreader or an editor. There were so many grammatical errors that it was literally breaking my brain. Sometimes I can overlook some spelling issues and the occasional poor grammar but this was nothing but poor grammar. Despite the promising story I just couldn’t bring myself to finish. Maybe with enough honest reviews the author will look into getting her book edited.
As the usual with this author, be prepared for the mindfuckery. I was prepared and still, I was blown away by the traumatizing stuffs this author wrote down. Like, what the fuck girl? Who hurt you? Why do you always torture these characters so damn bad? These people can't catch a break!
By the way, I would've rated this book higher, but the amount of spelling mistakes and editing mistakes that went unchecked in this book was INSANE.
I read this book from apps and I'm so happy to see it here!!! All the 3 books, completed! I started reading your book from the Alpha King's hated slave and I must say that you write the best books ever! I love the almighty Wolfaraine and his brave mate Osmena. Their love...awn! Makes me giddy
I've just jumped straight into this book from another trilogy by this author. It was on the strength of being thoroughly impressed that I was compelled to find more of the same. My first thought was, how on God's green earth was this book permitted to go to print in this state!? Just how?? As the author's grammar wasn't up to snuff but improved as the books developed, I have to assume that this effort was written first. The tenses are all over the place, there is frequent incorrect word usage and the sentence structures are abysmal. Absolutely horrendous. Thoroughly disappointing.
However, Kiss has a talent. She has a talent for telling good stories. In spite of the desperate state of the writing, this story is bloody good. It has so much potential. I was suckered in from page 1 and literally jumped to book two without taking a breath.
I would love to give this book 4 stars 🌟 and if I went just on the story and characters alone, I would. But, in all good conscience, I have to be honest and recognise that my reading experience was negatively affected. This book needs to be edited and republished.
I have no gripes with the story itself. If you can get past the woefully bad writing, I reckon you'll love it.
So many issues but I'll just say this. There were a lot of grammar issues, this book is basically a knockoff of other books, the characters were one dimensional at best and the whole thing just left me feeling bleh. I skimmed through so much of it to see if my guesses were right about the ending and they were. There wasn't a single thing I liked about this book, except maybe the cover, and even then, it wasn't that good. It would have been a DNF but I'm trying to not do that so I finished it. Kind of pissed this author got my money though.
Another excellent book. I love this author - her books always have a captivating (dark) story and deep troubled characters - that keep me very invested. My problem with changeling romance novels is that the story often is stereotypical (mates, marking etc). This is here not the case, the author creates in her books interesting new realities and there are a lot of twists and turns. It is a pity that I have already read the majority of Leilani‘s books. It will take time to find something that captivating again.
This is the first shifter book I've read that mixed in several different shifter types. I enjoyed it immensely and eagerly look forward to the future writings. This is not the first book I have read written by Kiss Leilani. She is a very talented writer and is always able to enfold me into her stories. I am never disappointed with her books. 😊😍😃
When this book started I did not know where it was going. The twists are unexpected and it holds your attention. I found this book on an app and was getting it chapter by chapter until I saw I could get the book on Amazon. This book does end on a cliffhanger, however the whole book is available to purchase so just get them all. The chemistry is there from the start, and the world building is really good and unique from other changeling/shifter book. Really good start!!
This is the 3rd series I'm reading by this author. One was littered with editing problems and the other was not. I was hoping this one would not have such issues but it does. Things like tethering instead of teetering for instance. The story line is okay so far. I'm going to see if the 2nd book picks up, if not I'll dnf I really, really wish they'd revise their work
Read this under two days, kept me awake all night long. I love this work although it ended on a huge cliffhanger but I'm already on my way to the second book, lol. Everything is on point, the character development, the female lead is so funny I love her. I hope to find out what became of his poor sister in the end
I wanted to like this book, but there were a lot of grammar inconsistencies. I think that English was not the authors first language and this book was translated or was transcribed. Also, a huge plot inconsistency was the fact that they spent probably millions of dollars trying to breed the changings and when they finally have success, they leave her to die bleeding out? Makes no sense at all.

So much passion and sadness.. I can’t wait to read the next one to see if the big bad wolfe can release the demons he holds onto and let Ena love him like the both deserve.
The writing is pretty awful. Active voice is great for college papers, but boring in a novel. The sentences are choppy, and there is no flow. It almost looks like it was written by chat gpt.
