I’ve been following Nicole Angemi for a few years now on Instagram and needless to say when I learned she wrote a book about various pathologies, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it.

I read most of this book in one sitting and throughly enjoyed how palatable and informative this book is. It offers a nice blend of various pathologies from common to rare occurrences; explained in layman’s terms to be able to successfully reach a broader audience.

What an interesting book! A few random sprinkles of information here and there about the body and intriguing facts. The book itself is beautiful. The author is very knowledgeable but down to earth which makes it a very fun read.

conducting an experiment to see if broadening my knowledge on all the things that can go wrong with the body will make me more or less likely to think I'm dying every time I have a little summer cold

Not for the squeamish! Fascinating, random, weird, often gross. Writing is very simple to understand, almost conversational. Alphabetical by body part.

As a fan of the mrs_angemi Instagram account and a subscriber of The Gross Room, it was only natural for me to preorder this book for myself and for my sister to read on her maternity leave. And what a delight it was to finally get it in the mail. It is a thick book, with colorful, glossy pages filled with photos and descriptions of fascinating pathologies. I have no medical background whatsoever, so Nicole's IG, TGR, and this book has taught me a lot about the human body.

This book would also make a great gift to friends or family members who present interest in morbid anatomy. ;)

As a deputy coroner in a mountain ski town, I don't get to see as much interesting pathology as I'd like. Nicole Angemi is someone I follow on Instagram, and this book doesn't disappoint. The photographs she's chosen are really helpful, and the book is visually well done all around. I DO wish there was a little more science involved, but I know it isn't the point of this book. also makes a great gift for the science/death nerd you know.

This unique book offered interesting and graphic insight. However, the language felt oversimplified. The assumption is the reader knows absolutely nothing about medical knowledge and terminology. However, to be interested in this nook, most would have some background knowledge. The simple language made for less exciting reading, as did some of the repetitive case studies (lots and lots of tumour masses).

Awesome adaption of Nicole Angemi's Instagram page! I was hoping for a little more content from actual autopsies but really enjoyed the rare pathologies that were explained in detail. This was also written in a way that someone who has no medical background could understand, which is great to increase knowledge. Overall, an excellent spin on an anatomy book!

the human body is foul, disgusting, and awful. I hate occupying one of them.

the book itself is kind of irritating. Angemi writes like she’s talking to a sixth-grade class, when the people reading this book are likely familiar with her and with anatomy/pathology in general. it’s sort of meh.

TLDR: If you're thinking about reading this, read it.

My wife recommended me to read this, and it's now my favorite medical book in my collection. It comes with plenty of stories and helpful information, though the pictures are quite graphic and I wouldn't recommend reading this on the train. It's very interesting to be able to see real photographs of these pathologies as a person who's interested in the human body. I highly recommend this book to anyone who's interested in the sick. It's perfect for anyone who wants to learn more about pathology in a digestible manner.

On a side note, using real patient examples was an excellent choice. I feel this connects the reader to the patient, reminding the reader that these conditions are very real. Maybe I read too many cold textbooks that isolate the sickness from the person, but the way Anatomy Book is written constantly reminds the reader that each patient is an individual, that patients can experience the same illness in different ways, that patients are human. This choice may have not been intentional, but even if it's wasn't, it's something I enjoy nonetheless.

This book is great for anyone who's interested in pathology, and it's written in such a way that encourages anyone to learn more. If you want the book, get it. Mrs. Angemi has done a wonderful job. :-)

This little pink brick of a book will sit on my shelf prominently - a perfect piece for the science girly - with my plants and my skull planters.

My one complaint is that the pictures could have used some labeling and/or some arrows. Needless to say, I am not a doctor and struggled to identify some figures.

I love that this book was in alphabetical order to make the tougher, medical subject easier to digest. I absolutely loved all the pictures that accompanied each case. Nicole Angemi made an interesting subject even more interesting. Overall, this book is great if you love gross stuff, like I do.

Love this , there is photos and short blurb of each of the pathologies discussed in the book.
Alphabetical order and interesting. i would say not for people who don't like gore, human bodies, medical issues etc.
