Born In Blood, the fifth book in the Logan and Scarlett Serial Killer series, is a great thriller. When a family is murdered and the bodies staged around their dinner table, FBI Agent Scarlett Bell will do her utmost to uncover the serial killer before he strikes again. As if hunting for the killer is not stressful enough, she is having problems with her boss as she feels he is alienating her from her colleagues, forcing her to work alone in very dangerous situations. Good thing she has someone very special looking out for her. Dan Padavona is a masterful storyteller who always leaves you wanting for more. This incredible, fast-paced novel had me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book. It was impossible to put down. I highly recommend this book, as well as all his others. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I have mixed feelings on the Logan and Scarlett series. Scarlett love's her job with the FBI she doesn't like her boss. The boss doesn't trust Scarlett contrary to what he says. The boss makes her job very difficult and won't give her any help. I'm not sure where this series is going. Since Scarlett can't count on her boss, she can count on Logan. In my Dan Padavona knows how to tell a thriller. He gives you suspense and intrigue. Dan Padavona had my attention from start to finish. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance reader's copy.
Dan does it again. Still waiting for the reason why the Director won't let Scarlett work with Gardy together. Yeah Logan's always has her back, but Gardy had his ass saved by Logan. Edwin is a taco short of a combo platter. Still not sure his reason for bumping off the Reporter? Everyone came close to The Family Man killer, Scarlett had couple close calls. Logan had his share of almost getting caught. Most trusted friend, Scarlett has is Harold. Ready for more.

The book was suspenseful and exciting. If you’ve been reading the series it doesn’t miss a beat from where it left off. Agent Bell is sent on her own without a partner to find a serial killer. But she has help in the shadows, without their help it’s possible that the agent wouldn’t make it. A must read, you won’t put the book down till your finished.
Once again, Dan Paragons has written a great book!! Definitely a 5 star rating from me. Scarlett and Logan are still working together. They are looking for a serial killer and one of the worst kind. Lots of twists and turns. Plenty of action. They make a good team. Recommend this to all readers. I really appreciate this "gritty" mystery being a story without a lot of bad language. Can't wait for the next book.
Just can't get enough of this Logan and Bell series. Always an edge of the seat read. Wish I could read the author's mind to see where he wants this story to go from here. So many questions that need resolution. One thing happened in this edition that gave me pause enough to feel a bit of satisfaction. One less roadblock!
But not before you read the whole Scarlett Bell series. If you're into suspense and thrillers this is your book and series. Excellent characters and storyline. An unputdownable edge of your seat nail biting series. Each book will keep you turning pages until you reach the last book. Author Dan Padavona is above the rest.
I love bell and wolf. You keep wondering when they will get caught. Grady is a fly in the ointment. But Logan will see him coming. Carter suspects Logan is aiding Scarlett. The series is always good. I read this addition book 5 in 4 hrs. I couldn't put it down. I can wait till April 2023 when book 6 is released.
I could not put this down, it was the scenario that you had to know what happened next, knowing you were reaching the end, but wanting the book to go on and on and on .....The Logan and Scarlet books are fabulous, Dan really makes the characters come to life! I was NOT disappointed and I've pre-ordered book 6 which will be available in April.
Another thrilling book with Logan and Scarlett. Of course, they are a great pair and totally compliment each other well. This was probably the best in the series that I have read. I recommend this to all readers of suspense thrillers. The writing is excellent from the FBI lingo to the forensic terms, it is spot on. Highly recommended.
a great addition to the series that kept me engaged and racing to finish the book. i read almost the entire book (besides chapter 1) in 1 day if that tells you anything. there was plenty of backstory for the unsub, and i enjoyed how his behaviors as an adult were explained so thoroughly. i do think that aspects of this book were so far out of left field it took me away from the immersion a bit.
This was an intense, suspenseful, complex, and challenging case for Agent Bell and the Police department, especially when the unsub does the unthinkable. Definitely not a story or series to be missed! I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.
Another great Logan and Scarlett book. I did not put it down until I finished it last night. I Know they are in love! Now how to keep Gardy out of the way. We cannot lose Logan after he finally healed.
Another home run. Absolutely fantastic book. Reading this book was even better than going to a world class amusement park. Twists, turns and full of suspense. Magnificent thrill ride.
Another great story of Scarlett & Logan’s adventures
I have enjoyed many of Dan Padavona’s books involving all of his characters. This book did not disappoint. It has a well-crafted storyline and believable story line. Keep up the good work!!!!!
This is a very exciting thriller. Loved it. Could not put this book down. Of course now I have to wait for the book in this series to know what happens next. I highly recommend this book. Can't wait till the next book in this series comes out.
I am very fond of Dan's story telling but there needs to be more of it. I have read all of his novels and thoroughly enjoyed each one. Agent Bell and Logan Wolf are my favorites and I am patiently waiting for the next novel.
Another great book. Very suspenseful. Very difficult to put down until finished. I enjoy this author, he keeps you on the edge of your seat until the end.
Scarlett Bell is chasing another serial killer...alone-ish. "Born in Blood" is an exciting read that keeps you guessing as she strives to find the killer again.
Enjoyed this book. Unusual storyline. Exciting conclusion. Well written, very descriptive situations and plenty of action. Anxious to read the next Dan Padavona thriller.
More and more it seems Logan, Scarlett and Gardy are on a collision course, while Deputy Director Carter’s motives and strategies are opaque, spelling danger to all within his span - including, however tangentially, Logan himself.
This author is amazing !!!! I don't want these books to end!! However I am reading one a day so I am going thru them very quickly. Love the characters. And they get these sci bags every time. !!!
I am starting to not like Gardy, his dislike of wolf doesn't seem like its about catching a serial killer more about him being jealous of Wolf and Bells connection. But all the rest of the story was great.
Logan and Scarlett are great book characters and the writer is wonderful. I have read some of his other books, actually a lot of them. If you like suspense and FBI agents and work, you will love these books.
Hell of a good story Really enjoyed the Orlando area action ( just remember we don’t have any subway stations down here) Can’t wait for the next one !!!!!
As with all of his writings this series was incredible and I can't wait to read more. Kept my interest totally. I would recommend this book and anything he wrtes...
