A sweet story of trust and faith

Trust and faith in people are foremost in the second book of the Hart’s Ridge Ranch series. Liam Hart sees Lily Bates practicing on her horse at a rodeo. He’s immediately attracted to the adorable and prickly woman. He finds out she’s not only beautiful and a good horsewoman, but the best barrel racer on the rodeo circuit. He’s always been able to charm anyone and is surprised when Lily doesn’t fall for his ‘charming cowboy ways’. He realizes she has walls up a mile high and is determined to get behind those barriers to see the real Lily. Lily takes her barrel racing seriously. She supports herself on the income from the rodeos and she’s driven to be the best and focused on winning. She doesn’t trust and finds it very difficult to make friends and not the most loved person in the rodeo. When someone sabotages her ride Liam is determined to keep her safe and find out who intends on injuring her.

It was heartbreaking the way Lily was a bit broken by her past and it overshadows every relationship in her present. Those who should have loved and cared for her as a child didn’t, and she now finds it very hard to trust anyone. Liam was a true testament to a cowboy hero. Patient, kind, compassionate, and with the quiet persistence of a man who knows who he is and what he wants. I think the pairing was perfect and I love how he treated Lily. It was a very emotional story of taking a leap of faith on someone and trusting they will not let you down. I really enjoyed this story and am looking forward to the next Hart brother finding his HEA. I received an arc of this book from Booksprout and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Rodeo season was upon Greenville, Wyoming once again with Liam and Mateo finding themselves over at the rodeo grounds checking everything out. Liam begins watching a barrel racer in a nearby practice ring riding as one with her horse. Liam the charmer of the Hart Brothers and just oozes charisma everywhere, ran into the young woman, Lily Bates later in the stable where she cut all his attempts at getting to know her off instantly. Lily came from a home where her father left, causing her mother to fall into a depression that left Lily to fin for herself so she has no trust for men in general. She basically had learned she could only depend on herself to survive. Liam and Lily continued to run into each other with varying results as they grew to know one another. Then they discover a plot to sabotage Lily's chances to win. Liam becomes determined to protect Lily whether she liked it or not. This was a standalone book, but it does build with characters from the previous book as the parents and other siblings personalities begin to emerge through these stories. A wonderful heartfelt story as Lily found a place to belong.

I love the trope of grumpy/sunshine, so seeing it in reverse was quite refreshing and amusing. Liam was the ultimate sunshiney boy who could do no wrong until he messed up with Lily, the grumpy barrel racer who was completely focused on her career. Their chemistry was apparent in the way they bantered back and forth throughout the book, though I wish there were more romantic moments between them before the story's end.

The drama and suspense in the book were just enough to keep us guessing, but I think there should have been more attacks on Lily's life just so we could see Liam coming to her rescue and getting chewed out by Lily (or maybe she would warm up to him even more).

I'm looking forward to reading about the next very mysterious Hart brother, Beau.

Lily is a barrel racer, she travels to rodeos to compete. At the rodeo she meets Liam, he's never met a woman he couldn't charm before but that was before he met Lily.
Lily finds it hard to trust, especially men after what she has experienced in her past. But can Liam find a way past the walls the Lily has erected around herself.
When someone tampers with Lily's horse before a show and she ends up injured, Liam vows to find out who was behind it. He moves Lily to his families ranch to protect her, which allows them to spend more time together. Will Lily finally drop her guard and allow Liam into her life, but what happens when it's time for her to move onto the next rodeo.

I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it.

While this is part of a series about the brothers of Hart's Ridge Ranch, you don't have to read the other books to fully understand and enjoy this one. I would recommend it though as it gives some insight as to the different brothers.

This book is written in my favorite dual POV format. Getting that glimpse into both of the main characters' thoughts really help me to better understand and connect to them. That was really helpful here as Lily is a nut little cookie to crack! Liam on the other hand (since he was also in the first book, was a dream hero!) He is very easy going and likes to make people happy.

If you enjoy a sweet, clean romance, then you definitely have to read this. This author is fairly new to me and I have not been disappointed in the stories that she has written.

Liam is the friendly fun brother of the Hart Family and things come easy for him. Lily has had to fight for everything she has ever gotten which includes the title of the best barrel racer and she intends to keep it that way regardless of how much Liam tries to flirt with her. When someone tries to sabotage her in the rodeo Liam convinces her to move to his family ranch for protection but neither one expected the move to change their lives forever.

Lilly is a barrel racer, but because of her anxiety. Liam works on his family’s ranch. He attends the rodeo and is impressed with the way she rides and is smitten with her even though she won’t give him the time of day. Can he win her heart?

This was a great story. I enjoyed it so much I had to go back and purchased the first book. I can’t wait until the next one comes out. It was well written and pulled me in. I couldn’t put it down.

A wonderful love story. I enjoyed reading Liam’s persistent pursuit of Lily and Lily’s unwavering denial of her growing feelings for him. He’s the outgoing player while she keeps reminding herself not to feel or get attached to anyone because everyone eventually leaves. Lily is a loner while Liam has a big family to support him. There is danger and suspense with humor and love.

I loved the first book of the Hart’s brothers series and I couldn’t wait for #2. Oh my! I’m not disappointed. I LOVED this one even more! The characters are appealing, they have character and integrity and the last chapters are filled with suspense, I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough!!! No need to write more! A must-read (even as a standalone if you don’t like series). Can't wait for Beau's story and I know I won't be disappointed!!!

Great story! Liam is a cowboy working on his family’s large ranch. Lily is a barrel racer, quite and with few friends. As she practices she catches his eye and he wants to learn more about her. With things happening at the rodeo, Liam wants to do all he can to protect her. Can she trust him? A wonderful story! I am already waiting for the next book!

This was another wonderful story about the Hart family. This story is about Liam and Lilly. Lilly was a barrel racer. She had won many races. When she arrived in Greenville, Wyoming for the rodeo, she met Liam. Just sit back and enjoy their adventure.

Liam never takes any of his dates seriously bye just wants to have a good time until he meets Lilly and everything changes. Lilly has one focus to be the best barrel racer she can be and doesn't have time to waste on a happy go lucky cowboy, you will enjoy reading this book and finding out what the outcome is

This book is a honestly great choice, the adventure,action,the whole did it will keep your heart pumping, on the edge of the couch, excited. With the awesome family The Hart’s and their Ridge Ranch, and 6 very much gentlemen, taught by their parents how to treat a lady with respect.

I enjoyed reading this clean & wholesome romance.
Lily has trust issues due to childhood abandonment by her father and the way her mother handled it.
Liam is a charmer with a devastating smile and quick wit. He loves having fun while avoiding getting attached.
I liked how the author was able to show how serious Liam can get when he finally meets someone who isn't enamored by his wit & charm.
The story was realistic as were the characters.

I thought I would give the next one of this series a try, and I’m glad that I did! Still pretty simplistic, but at least the plot was believable. I really like the characters, even if they’re not terribly complex. Three stars.
