He's got another baby on the way, and it's bad on every level. The head of the family is headed to prison, a rival crew is moving against them, and the mother is someone the whole family despises. It's the worst possible scenario, which is par for the course for the family screwup.
Kittora Wilkins has problems of her own. She's newly pregnant, and by the wrong Windermere brother. Even worse, her past is coming back to haunt her.
I didn't call this pairing at all. I thought Nay was going to end up impregnating his sister's ex-boyfriends side chick, but I guess his brother's sloppy seconds was equally as messy. Nay and Kittora unexpectedly meshed well after they both got over the fact that their situation was not ideal. Nay....grew on me. I mean he was clearly an fboy, but once he started stepping into manhood and really caring for Kittora I was like okay. The fact that he was linebacker thick, caramel, 6'3" with a moisturized beard seemed to help his case. He bossed up for the family as well and that made him more appealing.
I wasn't feeling Kittora, sis was giving grimy. I swear she gave off "Gab" vibes with that underhanded sneaky mess she was into. Shadiness aside it seemed as if they both embraced their relationship. In a way they were both second thoughts which seemed to make them compatible. Something felt like it was missing, but this story was enough to keep me interested in the next book which I was unsure of prior to this book. A solid 3.5.
I didn’t have high hopes for this book because tbh I couldn’t stand both the hero and heroine of this story from book 1-3. I will say Shae did a good job of bringing the likeable side out of both characters. I’m surprised Nay’s other baby mommas weren’t more of an issue. Also the reconciliation and scheming between the two you’d least expect to come together was nice to see. I enjoyed Naymar because although he was so dumb at times he really did mean well. Kittora really did still win in the end with Nay. Overall I give this book 3.5 stars. Looking forward to the Prince and the revelation of what’s going to happen with the Hightowers and now the Adam’s family!
Coming back to add that Naymar and Kittora really matched well and I think that was the most surprising of this pairing. I don’t want to call them the rejects because that sounds harsh but they both know the feeling of being dismissed or looked over and I think they recognize that in each other on their journey to having this baby. Also still love the dynamic between Jakari and Malika. Jakari was on Naymars ass for good reason and I’m glad we were able to see a little more of their dynamic.
It sure was a book 🤷🏾♀️. But of all the 🐈 in the 🌎 you end up with clitoris of all people 🤯?! I wish Jaz or Gab (who I can’t stand) would’ve beat her 🍑. Then Nay and Kitten Heel have the talk -IYKYK- off page?! Nay’s other kid’s mothers were good women, so why he ain’t settle with one of them? And how Kitchen Sink listen to a man’s mama plot against him and be upset that she ain’t being treated as family? I’m still surprised it’s the family ties series because is the family in the room with us🤔. Needless to say, I didn’t like Naymar the whore or Carpal Tunnel🤦🏾♀️.
I wasn't sure what to make of Nay from the previous books, but he grew on me. He was definitely a fboy, but he did grow up a bit, and come into his own! He seemed like such a decent guy, but because everyone told him he wasn't ish, he just became the ain't ish brother! He did right by his kids, handled family business and seemed to be the only one who would fool with Gab's ole snake ass! Ughhhh.... I can't stand that person! 🤬 I know she got issues, and things happened to her in her life. But damn Gab, these are your kids! You just don't give a damn about the actions, and drama you bring into their lives huh? Kittora! You were just foul ma'am! Then deciding to keep the baby for your own payday? I really thought that Nay was going to take care of her, but surprisingly he began to care for her. I didn't know how to feel about these two at first, but I gave Kittora a bit of grace, as she was out here navigating the world alone! They both understood how it felt to be ignored and overlooked. Kittora and Nay became a team, a family, something that Kittora always wanted. I'm still left with so many questions! Will there be any blowback about Hightower? So, Jock just rode away into the sunset with his cash? I have a feeling he will want to cause trouble for Kittora and Nay! And that damn Gab! What is we gone do with her ass? Looking forward to learning about Eris next, as he hasn't been talked about much. Good job! 👍👍👍
Nay did some real growing up, because the way I was tired of playing a tiny violin for him in the begging! You can’t be exactly what the family says you are and expect them to not call you out for it.
This ended up being the best situation Kittora could’ve ever gotten herself in!
If you’re here to be a lil messy and stay up to date the Windermere’s shenanigans this one will do it!
There are a few words I cringe in a story. The b word, and both c words. In this urban fiction, the b word is prevalent. It is difficult sometimes to catch the lingo, because the writing style appears to be as the author speaks. About the story: I did not care for Nay or Kittora. Lol, her name reminded me of something too. Although Nay changed by the time this story concluded and became a better man, he was less of a jerk. The series started off well, but, my interest declined with each subsequent book because the men start out as rude as possible. The next installment, we'll see.
I usually don't like cliffhangers but the way she writes each book actually leaves me feeling satisfied until the next installment. Nay did not redeem himself for me, he is STILL a screw up. How you introduced your kids to a female when you just told you baby mama not to have men around them without running it by him?? He made really bad decisions CONSISTENTLY just to turn around a play victim and whine about people calling him out and holding him accountable. I didn't really wanna like Kitt but she's ok cause Mal says she's OK. I love how this family (outside of Gab lol) embraced Mal especially Jaz, she loves her sis.im really looking forward to Gabs story because I just know there's alot of meat there and I honestly hope that it ends in redemption. Can't wait til the next read
I needed a little buffer in between At The End of It All and my next book - something I knew would hit the right spots and bring me back to earth from Planet Ace. "The Player" understood the assignment. Short, sweet, straight to the point. Exactly what I was expecting it to be, entertaining and concise.
Naymar is probably my least favorite of the Windermere siblings. He just seems a bit bland to me compared to Kari and Jaz, but I still enjoyed his story and getting small glimpses of the other siblings through his eyes. They are all still dysfunctional as all hell, but entertaining nonetheless.
It looks like the next and possibly final book in the series is going to focus on Eris, which we haven't heard much about besides the fact that he's the youngest brother so...interested to see what else unfolds when his story gets released.
This was so much better than what I expected. If a total mess looked like a person, it would have been Neymar and Kattoria . When meeting Kattoria in previous book I just shook my head and wondered what would cause her to be so petty. As for Neymar I was wondering what it was going to take for him to grow the heck up. They last thing I expected was for a hook up between him and Kattoria to be just what they both needed to Realize that other peoples opinions did not dictate who they were or would be.
This was a good read with a little bit of everything going on from messed up situations , sex , suspense, threats of death family love, and a messy petty mother. I’m gonna need Ms Gab to get somewhere and sit all the way down 😂😂😂
How You Start Your Life Doesn't Mean That's How You End It!
Shae, great series. How I love Nay. Although he may have thought the wrong way he became more of a grown up to me. I've never seen a mother so manipulating as Gab. She really didn't care how or who she hurt just to play her game. Nay stood up for Malika in Jakari absence. Although Kittora, was a pawn in the mix she ended up getting just what she was missing, which was a family, love, loyalty and peace. Nay and Kittora never realized they had what the other needed. The growth for me was amazing. Seeing Jaz blossom in her world seeing Malika get some strength and having people that really love her was amazing. Can I say Nay is at this moment my fav?. I gotta read the next book though🤗🤗🤗
I usually give Shae Sanders' books 5 stars. I love her writing style. Her grammar is on point. The plot is fantastic.
And she is the number one on my list of spicy scene authors. There is no comparison. As many books as she has. As many spicy scenes that she writes, they each feel different when reading.
This is the first book that I had to dock a star and that's due to the timeline. It doesn't add up. The rumors in the 2nd and/or 3rd book that Nay had gotten someone pregnant did not match with the timeline in this book. He told Jaz and Jaz was still in Midland but the beginning of this book has Jaz in Atlanta. So that was a disappointment but the writing was still top notch.
I can see how the events of this got everyone saying it was unexpected but it's like you can almost see how it happened. Both Nay and Kittora were looking for something, maybe not in each other but definitely something. They found it in each other though and honestly I thought it was refreshing for them. To slow down and really be to someone what they always wanted. Still don't like Gab and it's honestly because she always gotta do something. She just can't be a mom and grandma she gotta be petty also. I wonder what it will take. The Prince will ne interesting though!!!
The story of Nay and Kittora went against all socially acceptable norms. So why did Ms Sanders have me rooting for them all the way? Nay may have been messy and always thinking with the wrong body part, but there's no denying he took care of his children. And their mothers. And that speaks volumes. I didn't like what caused this couple to get together, but I loved them together. These 'outcasts' were just what each other needed. Who knew? Great story and I love this author's writing style.
I liked this book. I had a feeling from the previous books and knowing that this would be about Nay and Kittora that they would be what each other needed. Kittora needed family and she gained that from an unlikely situation. Gab was messy as always but the rest of the family was there for each other as always. I also felt Nay had some different layers to him and wasn’t a dead beat and he showed that he was a good guy and good father with how he took care of his children and Kittora. I look forward to what will happen next with this family.
Okay, i’m actually really enjoying the series. But to be honest, I really didn’t care for Kittora. Naymar was a hot mess, but there was something endearing about him. I understand that Kittora needed the money, but she ultimately kept the baby to use Naymar. Her life was in shambles too which i guess made her and Nay equally yolked. I loved Jakari and Malika & how hard the siblings stood beside them, especially Malika. Everything happened really fast and i can’t wait to read Eris’s story.
I’ve really liked Naymar since the first book in the series so I've been anxious for his story. And I've gotta say I liked it a whole lot. He gets teased mercilessly by his family but this book showed that he's really a good father and takes care of his people. I loved seeing him so ready to step up and be there for Kittora and it was beyond cute watching them fall for each other. Ironically enough considering the circumstances but their romance felt the tiniest bit slow burn. Overall this was just a fun time and it might be my favorite right now in the series.
A fun read overall. I had read all 4 books in the last week. I was definitely not expecting the pairing of the couple in this one.
I found Dionne a bit bratty and ungrateful. I wish there was more character development in her discovering how imperfect she is and unfairly judgemental at the same time. Malika sacrificed alot for her and she doesn't seem to appreciate it, instead she is continously hard on her. Also wish there was more empathy shown towards Jakari, it seems like everyone just glazed over what he was forced to do and the trauma it caused.
Something's wrong with anyone who doesn't love these Windermere (except for that evil Gab)! Naymar is the eldest Windermere, having much love for his siblings and trying to hold down the empire while Jakari is locked up. He is also attempting to platonically navigate the co-parenting waters with baby mama number three, but that ship is about to quickly capsize! Bring on book number five!
Well, well, well now 🤭! If ain’t the next generation of Windermere women🌪️ …flawless…relentless….fearless…ride & die (oops😬) chics‼️….The formal introductions of Earth (Malika) 🌎 , Wind (Kittora) 💨 & Fire (Dionne)🔥 ‼️😮🫣🤷🏾♀️.. “The Player (Family Ties - Book 4) was the necessary force of money, power & resources to neutralize the Midling ole boys & gal club game of manipulating its prey & paws‼️… Book 5🍿please don’t disappoint 🫣
When I got to this story my mouth dropped. This was a pair I did not see happening at all!! And I see Gab was still on her shit smh. Someone really need to put her in her place and keep her there. She is getting out of hand fr. The ending of this book was the best part to me. The MFC finally got that family she always wanted.
The story was okay but not realistic if the real world, well it’s a story. If you slept with brothers and then get pregnant by one, the family will not be so welcoming. They will outcast you, because you were once a scammer. So this story was ok, looks of heat.
I like how the book goes into detail to why he is the east that he is and shows every side of the player. I diss like how it ended so quickly i wanted to know more about the last few months and why no one going into detail on a certain someone’s death.
Loved this seies. That mother is just a crazy sneaky woman if she's not happy no one can be its a shame how she tried to control her children plotting against them always trying to be one up on them I hope in the next book she gets what she deserve.
Well Nay’s antics brought him into a world with Kittora that he ain’t see coming. She was supposed to be a one night stand but fate would have other plans. Kittora stepped up and showed Nay what she was made of and proved herself. Great read for Nay’s story.
A wonderful series where the thugs love love. So beautiful to see a side of men not often written about and this was filled with these wonderful men pouring out their souls and allowing themselves to love and be loved.
2.5 I’ll be honest, I just couldn’t root for kittora. The drama was fine, and I’m glad we got to see plenty of Kari and Mal, but I was literally rooting for everyone except kittora. It felt rushed, so I didn’t get the chance to actually like her.
Didn't we get some surprises in here! I really don't care for Kittora. All she wanted was for somebody to take care of here...smh. And I told yall Gab had something she needed to get out, crazy self. I'm not sure how long this relationship gonna last, but let's see..
Welp wasn’t expecting this but ooh wee messy is an understatement and I am all in with this family 😍. Now we need to get rid of the next obstacle and something tells me that Auntie is about to unleash on Gab🤣🤣🤣🤣
