Ofelia Archer’s life is looking up. Her father is in the hospital getting the help he needs, her mother is seemingly distracted with some new walking group, and her brother is finally opening his own bar. Things couldn’t be better … until a body is found. Shawn Dawson was just out to have a good time. He drank late into the night and somehow ended up dead in an alley. It wasn’t a normal death either. He was drained of everything fluid he possessed, which points to something paranormal. There’s a succubus on the loose in the French Quarter, and even though she’s newly turned, she has ties to the area. When Ofelia interrupts her feeding schedule, she becomes the creature’s enemy … and the new target is Zach Sully, Ofelia’s fiancé. Ofelia would do anything to protect the man who stole her heart, but her options seem limited. That means a fight … and it’s going to have to be between the women alone, because the succubus has a special power over the men. Ofelia might have sympathy for the succubus’s plight, but that won’t stop her from doing what she has to do to protect those she loves. It’s a fight to the finish, and only one woman will come out victorious.
This time the.monster Ophelia and Zach have to.deal.with is a succubus. Luckily she's a fairly new one.so hasn't yet mastered all her powers. This.doesn't mean she is easy to deal with though as her powers are quite formidable. The succubus is able to enthralled men and women who are sexually attracted to females using this power she can make them do anything she desires including kill.........themselves or anybody she orders them to........... before feeding on their energy. Running up.against Ophelia was not in her plans so now she's in for the fight of her life, she's threatened everyone Ophelia holds dear starting with Zach...............no way is that going to be allowed to happen so Ophelia calls in a few friends to help take her down......
This is an entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series. A fun cast of characters and an entertaining storyline. Ophelia archer is a bar owner in New Orleans. Her bar called crew is a mainstay of locals as well as tourists. Ophelia also happens to be a powerful witch living in the Quarter in New Orleans. Her fiancé is a panther shifter and a police officer in New Orleans. Her brother for the long as the time was basically a rudderless individual who did not know what he want to do in life other than getting laid every so often. Ophelia‘s fiancé has put the money to help him open his own bar so we shall see how that turns out. Hopefully his father recently had some issue is getting treatment and a medical center for his issues. Now in Ophelia and the rest of the gang she hangs with must battle a new threat to the quarter. A Paranormal threat that will take skill to find out who watch when and where. Read on and see what adventure awaits.
No matter how many series I read I really think Ophelia and Sully have to get cutest couple award which is not an easy decision but I stand by it they really are super cute together and magic to boot. But this series is so much more than the main couple, I’m loving learning more about the paranormal unit with the police it’s added intrigue then there are the more colourful characters specifically, Oscar, Felix and Pascal are my top three and for this storyline with a succubus/witch hybrid now that was a nice touch.
The characters and the family they make are those you can relate to. The issues is the family are relevant to those in the real world today. With that being said there was a lot of laughing out loud, some sadness, a lot of sarcasm (which I love) and action. The main character is a bad ass which and no buddy harms her family and gets away with it. The last part I can relate to. I couldn't stop reading this because I needed to know what waa going to happen next. Loved it!
Fe quickly has her hands full of trouble and this time Sully is no help. Its a good thing she's everyone's favorite witch because she needs some serious help to keep all those men in her life safe. Will Felix ever grow up? Will Oscar ever forgive her? And will Sully wake up before something terrible happens? Another great paranormal cozy mystery to enjoy with your favorite beverage or two.
Everyone needs love some get it some don't. Pansy didn't get growing up and thought her boyfriend loved her. How wrong she was, but does that mean she should force anyone to love her. NO! Love is given and earned thru respect and admiration of yourself before you can love another person. Ophelia and her fiancé habe this the of love. I'm hoping we get to see these two visit or have visitors from the other series by Lily Harper Hart. Maybe after their wedding.😉💚💙
Ofelia is busy, Felix is about to open Envie, Sully is working hard, and Oscar is resentfully continuing treatment...
Ofelia checks up on Felix and spies the new barmaid, Pansy, everything on display in tiny sequin shorts, and warns Felix not to indulge with the staff... sexual harassment lawsuits are a real thing!
Little does she know the trouble Pansy will bring when she's stopped from taking a little snack...
The monster is a witch/succubus newbie so not up to full power/potential. She threatens Fe's family and Sully which is not a smart thing to do. She calls in reinforcements to deal with this creature. Pascal is doing the heavy lifting again to save Fe from doing it. I couldn't wait to see what happened next so quite the page turner. Looking forward to reading additional books to see how Felix and Oscar situations turn out and let's not forget the Wedding.
This is a really good series of books to read. I love reading books by Ms. Hart. Her stories flow easily and keep you entertained. I never felt like there was a lull in the story or a lot of unnecessary filler. She is a very gifted and creative author. You won't be sorry to buy this book.
The H exhibition st (A Supernatural Speak easy Copy Mystery book 11 by Lilly Harper Hart
This was another winner. I live this Author as she has a great imagination and writes great paranormal mysteries. I highly recommend all her books and all her different series. They are all great. I have read over 30 of her books and loved every one of them. Diana Romano
All the elements of a New Orleans paranormal thriller are rolled into one fantastic roller coaster of events for Ofelia as Felix holds opening night at his new bar. The drop dead sexy bar tender starts is all off. Fe saves Felix. Then Zack becomes a target. It takes the team to figure it out and protect Zack.
A nice enjoyable read. Wasn't quite as happy with this as others but can't put my finger on why. Did enjoy Felix and his part. Wish Angelique would get some fleshing out, she's such a flat character at the moment and I want more. Pascal got a few bits of past added so that was great. He is an interesting character.
Ofelia has to outfox a succubus! And quickly, as she has targeted every male Ofelia loves. Sully has to sit this one out since he is the primary target. Can the beautiful bar owner find a way to save her family? Clever planning and a good back up team are her only hope!
Join Ofelia and Sully as they try to protect the French Quarter from a succubus who tried to have Felix for lunch but now wants Sully. The only problem is that nobody knows where to find this succubus to be able to catch them never mind stop them from killing anyone, actually that might be a big problem, so buy this book and find out what happens today.
This is the last book in this series until August 1, 2023. This is currently my favorite series. So much so that I went back halfway through the series and read Book 1 again so I could read how Ophelia and Zach met all over again. So much so that I plan to reread the series sometime in the near future. If this is your genre, then you'll love A Supernatural Speakeasy Cozy Mystery Series.
I have read every book in this series since I started it. Now I need to wait till the next book is available to continue. The characters are great. The way the author approaches the mental health issues on one of the characters is realistic. Over the series I have seen these characters grow and evolve. Would definitely recommend this series.
Enjoyed this addition to the series. Ophelia has her hands full. I love Pascal. The ending seemed a little sad. Sometimes the bad guys have sad back stories. The author gave a good summary, so no sense in rehashing. No spoilers. Looking forward to next in series.
This series is one great story after another. This one has a succubus in it and a very dangerous one. The main characters and supporting characters are all old friends and beloved to the reader. The plot is convoluted as ever and the premise is to protect New Orleans and each other from a supernatural killer. I most definitely recommend this book and all the others in this series.
The series continues. This one seemed a little light on the plot. A succubus comes into the picture. She decides to target Fe since she stopped the succubus from killing Felix. The succubus basically obsessed on Fe - why is the real question. Fe has to take her out without Sully's help. I needed a little more from this one. It was a very quick read.
A body is found a few blocks from Ofelia's bar, drained of all bodily fluids, not just his blood, everything. Is it a vampire? Not likely, they would only drain the blood. After some thought, Ofelia determines that it is a succubus. Who almost drained her brother Felix. Who threatened to drain Sully. The succubus must die!
I've enjoyed each book in the series so far. I'd like to see Ofelia and Sully added to the series Return to Magic. It would be great to see them along with the other characters from several of Ms. Hart's other series. I'd like to see what Ofelia's and Sully's kids would be like.
I absolutely love this series. The plot and subplots move quickly, making it hard to put the book down. The characters are well developed, but they are also growing and developing throughout the series! I can't wait for the next book.
I love this series and getting to revisit Ophelia and her crew. The mystery was I treating and fast paced as always. There was also plenty of snark and sarcasm along with romance. If you enjoy any of those things, you'll enjoy this series!
I liked that Sully’s boss and co-workers were so involved in this story. Each of the peripheral characters is starting to have their own backstory. I’m looking forward to more of Felix’s story and can’t wait until Fe takes on the White Walkers!
It was good to see Fe Sully and the rest of the Krewe back in action. Great story line with Felix getting his life together, Oscar getting treatment and Pascal helping out as usual. Hope there is a next book to continue the story line.
These books just keep getting worse. Sully is an abusive asshole. We have lots of ableist "crazy" references. Oh well, one left. I'll read it. But she's a good writer, so I just wish she did a better job.
I like the characters in this series and the story was interesting, too. The series is not on the very top of my list, but still a favorite. The end seems a bit sad this time around but I still enjoyed the whole book.
Constant action, favourite characters, (the family soap opera continues), a satisfying ending. And we can look forward to whatever the White Walkers is going to have next book.
Book 11 has humor, angst, danger, murder, mystery, and a new creature doing the killing. Ofellia's family is in danger, including Sully, and she's not sure what to do. Between saving each family member, she has a bunch of research. Highly entertaining.
