Claire Paulin did a beautiful job bringing Blanche’s story to life. You can feel how much research went into every page. 🥹💕

Sarja Säravad naised siiani uusim üllitis. Kuigi sarja peategelased on - nagu nimigi ütleb - naised, on selles konkreetses raamatus päris palju juttu ka kuulsast kunstnikust Claude Monet´st. Blanche´iga seoses tekkis mul kohe alguses kindel tunne, mismoodi temast Monet´ saab, kuid mõne aja pärast pidin siiralt üllatuma, kui kuulsa kunstnikuga hakkas abielluma hoopis tema ema. Ometi aga oli Blanche Monet täitsa olemas ja vähemalt raamatu järgi maalis kasuisaga võrdväärselt. Seda lugu võib ilmselt lugeda kui ilukirjanduslikku vormi valatud kunstniku elulugu kui ka lihtsalt nais(t)e lugu traditsiooniliselt meestekeskses maailmas. Minule igatahes meeldis.
