As a vet tech, Daniel is usually first in line to come to animals’ aid. When he and his boss get a call about an animal hoarding situation, they expect the handful of badly treated dogs… but the tiger comes as a surprise.
Wes recently left his job to care for his sick mother. Now that she’s on the mend, he needs work, and he finds it at a bustling shelter. But the animals aren’t the only ones in need. His kind, chatty coworker Daniel is dealing with an abusive boyfriend—something Wes, whose father was an alcoholic, has experience handling. Wes steps up to help Daniel kick his boyfriend to the curb, but in the process, he finds himself falling for Daniel himself.
Navigating a new relationship when they both have traumatic pasts is one thing. But when a shady group starts targeting the tiger they are trying to find a zoo placement for, the stakes are raised even higher. Can Wes and Daniel come together to rescue the animals—and each other?
This was a fun and sweet read, I really liked Daniel and Wes and was definitely rooting for them and the animals! I thought they were a great match right from the start, despite how very different they are, they just clicked for me. It was actually their differences, Daniel is outgoing and energetic while Wes is much more on the quiet, stoic and shy side, that worked so well and had me wanting them both to find the happiness they so deserve.
When these two meet they are both going through some pretty emotional experiences, Daniel is trying to get his abusive boyfriend out of his life and trying to move on and Wes is venturing back out into the world after taking care of his mother who was battling cancer. He also comes from an abusive past, his father was an alcoholic who abused both Wes and his mother. Seeing Daniel’s situation Wes instinctively wants to help and protect him. Professionally they are both busy as well helping to run the clinic and shelter, especially with an influx of new animals that were rescued, including a tiger! But someone, or a group of someones seems to be after these animals, and not to help them, including the tiger, and Daniel’s ex is proving to be more dangerous than they expected.
There is a great mix of romance and action in this book, I definitely loved seeing Daniel and Wes open up and fall for each other, but I enjoyed the mystery elements as well. Andrew Grey throws some good twists in this book that caught me by surprise. Overall, a really enjoyable read with genuine characters and emotions and I really loved how it all came together! I’ve definitely enjoyed this Must Love Dogs series!
Daniel works at a vet clinic owned by Mitchell (from book 1 of the “Must Love Dogs” series along with his partner Beau and their daughter Jessica.) Mitchell has a no-kill shelter and helps out when the cops call him in for abuse cases. The latest takes them both by surprise as they find not just dogs, but snakes, a tortoise, and a full-grown tiger. Wes is a shy man who lives up the road from the farm and is looking for a job so he can continue to care for his mother (fighting cancer). Mitchell and Daniel immediately see that Wes has a special way with animals and hire him on. But what follows is something none of them expect, especially Daniel and Wes. Someone is trying to steal the animals, especially the tiger, for fighting. Wes and Daniel go up against the perps, but discovering who is the head is definitely a challenge for Wes.
The romance that builds between the two men is nicely done and the emotions are real. Plus, I love the caring everyone shows for the animals, especially the ones who are hurt—physically or emotionally.
Recommended.

Daniel and Wes meet when Wes comes looking for a job at the vet animal shelter that Daniel works at. They just took in some more dogs and a tiger that Daniel helped Mitchell from book one get after he was found at a guy's place.
They're trying to find a home for the tiger at a zoo. And Wes is helping take care of the dogs that are at the shelter and he also has been taking care of his mom. He has a past that he's trying to do with just like Daniel does. I really liked that Wes helped Daniel with his boyfriend issue.
There is some drama with the fact that some people keep trying to let the tiger Raj loose. I suspected one of the culprits well actually two of the culprits. One culprit in this was actually related to Wes. And of course Daniel had his ex-boyfriend involved as well.
I was happy to see Mitchell Beau and Jessica in this book I need to read book one where we actually get to meet them. But I was too excited to read this book because there was a tiger on the cover. I loved Mitchell's mom and I was so glad it was not a devastating story with her having cancer it was a happy ending with that.
Really enjoyed the romance between Wes and Daniel. One is a strong silent type the other one is a mile a minutes kind of guy which they compliment each other perfectly. And the two dogs that they adopted Reverend and Buster was beautiful. Another great book by Andrew.
After Mitchell and his trainee vet, Daniel rescue some dogs, snakes and an endangered Sumatran Tiger of all things from neglect, they employ an assistant for their animal shelter who arrives in form of Wes, a handsome but quiet stranger who Daniel immediately becomes attracted too. But Daniel has some issues to work out with his abusive ex and Wes has to deal with an abusive father who he hasn’t been seen for years and his mum who is suffering from cancer. Their respective issues soon bring the two together as they help each other work them out. However their relationship takes a back seat when it soon becomes clear some nefarious group have designs on the shelter’s dogs and the tiger to use them in criminal underground activity and they must protect the animals. But what does Dan’s abusive ex and Wes’s estranged abusive father have to do with it all? This is a sweet little romance and animal lovers will appreciate the tension and level of threat as Dan and Wes try to protect the shelter. It’s well written and I would definitely read more from the author.

RESCUE US is the third in Andrew Grey’s Must Love Dogs series. Daniel is working for veterinarian Mitchell while he saves money for veterinary school himself. When Wes arrives as a shelter volunteer, they become friends, and then more. Together they are able to help each other face frighten in situations and heal from the trauma inflicted by others in their pasts. Overall a sweet read.
A well told tale of courage, love and action! Enjoy how Daniel and Wes meet, protect the abused from more abuse, and savor the steamy moments of their new love!
An entertaining read, centered on the slowly developing relationship between Daniel and Wes, supported by a small crew of cast off pets. Good character development, an interesting plot, and a positive ending.
This review is for all three of the books in this series.
Once again Andrew Grey deposits a neatly defined and wonderfully developed series. This one centers around a veterinarian named Mitchell who also runs an animal rescue service in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
Mitchell is the protagonist in the first book where he gets to know his neighbor Beau who turns out to be a dad by default for baby Jennifer, whose now deceased mother was Beau's best friend. This situation calls for cute and also angst when threats to Beau's caretaker status arise. Nicely done and a good segue to the nest one.
The second book is all about Christmas and how Alex, a young man who is afraid of dogs, decides to deal with that fear by going to Mitchell's rescue service to adopt a dog. There he meets volunteer Luther and he falls in love with the dog he rescues, a Jack Russell named Rudolph, and gets all tingly about Luther. Jack Russells are super friendly but very energetic dogs and the book is super friendly and energetic as well.
The finale brings the action back to the rescue clinic where Mitchell has been asked by county authorities to rescue and place a host of dogs from a hoarder, a package that also includes a tiger. This one puts the spotlight on Mitchell's assistant, Daniel, who wants to be a veterinarian but needs funds to go to school. Enter Wes who has returned home to care for his sick mother and needs a job. He gets that when Daniel crosses his path and recommends him to Mitchell, and the romance dance starts again.
Story and characters are interesting and well developed by the end. One star off for sex scenes that in my opinion did little to advance either the action or the characters.
