I remember liking the film more than the script. 13 years after I saw the film it was impossible not to read Dean's dialogue in anything but Hoffman's voice.

A relatable and deeply flawed central character holds this story together. He tries to control the opinions others have of him to an extreme amount ; he tells obvious lies so others don't think he is strange.

There are, as others have pointed out, lots of grammar and spelling errors but I don't think that is reason enough to mark it down more than one star.

Glad I’m doing action right. But the characters are so specific you can’t know if you’re being as specific. Feels like I’m serving the story more than the characters. But in after the first draft, in editing I hope to rein it in.
