I enjoy using these books. I’ve now read one for each book of scripture - well, I didn’t finish the Old Testament one, but probably will someday. The personal stories and thought about a verse from each chapter can be very beneficial to understanding and a springboard for my own contemplation.
I love the set up of this book. An inspirational thought to go along with each chapter of the New Testament. I read this with the New Testament this year and after each chapter I read I would read the one page thought that went along with it. Sometimes I would finish the chapter not understanding what I read only to read the thought from this book and have a new, thought provoking, beautiful understanding. Other times I would read it and find a different understanding I hadn’t thought of or just something inspiring that warmed my heart. I loved how each thought was only a page so it was always something quick and not too complicated.
This book has been a gem as we've been studying the New Testament. The authors will take a verse or even a section of a verse and explore it in a few paragraphs and then have a question for the reader to ponder on or journal about. I write directly in the book, sometimes about their question and sometimes just my own thoughts and inspiration. Using the book has helped me slow down while reading and consider scriptures in new ways and it's been a lovely addition to my gospel study.
This work book helped with my study of the New Testament in a very personal way. Not only was I able to internalize the teachings of Jesus Christ, but this book opened up insights to me which expanded my understanding of almost every chapter.
I enjoyed all the stories and uplifting thoughts in this book. I have gone back through and read specific scriptures and thoughts again that have helped on the daily.
Forever a DB and EBF fan. Love the way they make the gospel real and "like unto Us". My connection to Jesus Christ has grown exponentially with their assistance.
