Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. Actually, any time of year when tasty baked goods are expected is my favorite time of year, but why quibble over details? I just can’t understand why someone would ditch a dead body like that.
It’s Christmas, and Allie and Lucy are on the hunt for a killer in between baking Christmas cakes for the Christmas baking contest. What they discover about the victim will have him put on Santa’s naughty list. Permanently. Just because someone did a bad thing doesn’t mean they deserved to die, does it? Allie and Lucy will have to decide the answer to that question when they figure out who killed the victim.
Welcome to Sandy Harbor, Maine, a small town with a lot of heart. And a dead body or two.
It is the Christmas season and Allie and Lucy decide to participate in the British Christmas cake contest in hopes of winning. First prize being a free three-day trip to Las Vegas. The glitch was all contestants had to supply their own ingredients, prepare the cake at the culinary school in Bangor and once the contest began, they could not take out or bring in anything that would alter the cake. Judges from the culinary school would score the cakes based on taste and presentation. Unfortunately, someone is murdered and Allie and Lucy decide to investigate the murder and provide whatever information they gathered to Alec. Lots of twist and turns to keep you guessing.
Loved everything about this book!! It’s filled with intrigue, wonderful characters, a great setting and an exciting plot. If you're looking for a quick, clean cozy mystery set to read, this is the series for you! It was entertaining, enthralling, funny, with a great mystery! I could hardly put this down once I started reading. Highly recommend the whole series!
Allie and Lucy were on their sleuthing game again, this time in Bangor when a judge from the Christmas cake contest was murdered. I can’t say this was done of the better cases but it was still pretty interesting. Those two always crack me up, like Lucy and Ethel with their schemes.
The showdown was good and the perp put away in time to enjoy a killer-free Christmas. Can’t wait to see what these crazy besties get into next!
I think that I will always love the holiday-themed books by this author. It doesn't even matter the series, really, but this series is definitely one of my favorites. These little books are just so light and well-written. They're relaxing and comforting. They are comfort food in cozy mystery form.
Allie & Lucy are off in another adventure. They entered a baking contest in Bangor. When one of the judges get murdered and Alec is called in to help they join in the search as well. Light fun holiday cozy mystery.
This was a cute Christmas read for the family. The writing was a bit repetitive but the jokes were good. Main character lacked a little depth but the side characters were great!
