Their families are enemies. A marriage between them would be crazy. Impossible. It’s also the only solution to both their problems.
Emerson never would’ve shown up on the enemy’s doorstep to propose a marriage of convenience if she weren’t desperate. Alone and hunted by a cruel criminal who would force her to become his wife, her only hope is the man she’s been secretly infatuated with for the past year: Rory Nolan.
Wounded bad boy Rory wants nothing to do with Emerson and her insane proposal—no matter how much her lush body might tempt him—until she makes him an offer he can’t refuse.
Six weeks. No emotions. Then he walks away with her families’ fortune and a clear conscience.
But when she asks him to relieve her of her V-card and teach her how to please a man in bed, one scorching-hot kiss changes everything between them.
As the day nears when their fake marriage will end, Emerson realizes her silly crush has turned into something more. The problem is her husband still hates her. How can two enemies with so many scars from the past forge a future together?
Amy Olle writes sexy contemporary romances filled with hope, heart, and humor. She is delighted to put her Psychology degrees to good use writing romance.
Her debut novel, BEAUTIFUL RUIN, is the first book in a series about the five Irish-born Nolan brothers sent as children to live with family on a remote island in northern Michigan.
BEAUTIFUL RUIN received a Readers' Favorite 5-star review!
Amy lives in Michigan with her long-suffering husband, brilliant son, and (female) turtle named George.
What a great book. Emerson and Rory are such endearing characters, each with their own vulnerabilities and faults. That is what I love about Amy's books, her characters aren't cookie cutter perfect! The story was so riveting that I often caught myself reading too fast and then having to go back to catch missed points during my haste. There is some mystery (how did Emerson's parents die), some humour (when the other Nolan brothers show up), some adorableness (Rory's nieces and nephews) and a lot of steam (the chemistry between Emerson and Rory is off the charts). This book ended way too soon for me. It was a perfect book to read during a cold Canadian winter, hunkering down and just chilling. I've followed this author since her first book starting the Nolan clan saga and I've loved each one she's published. She's not a prolific writer, but what she writes is fantastic. I'm looking forward to her future books.
KING A NOLAN BASTARDS NOVEL by AMY OLLE: 3.5 stars This is my least favorite story in this series because of all the OTT negative introspection - by both Rory and Emerson - and then once the s3x started (well into the story), it took over the story to the point I started skimming. Otherwise, the characters were likable and interesting but the missing brother was not found.. —PTators
i liked the start and was intrigued by it, however the story dragged on to nothing, both heroes were always blaming themselves and it became kind of frustrating, but overall not bad.
