சோவியத் யூனியனால் ஆப்கனிஸ்தான் ஆக்கிரமிக்கப்பட்ட காலத்தில் ஏராளமான போராளிக் குழுக்கள் அங்கு உருவாயின. தாலிபன், அவற்றில் ஒன்று. போராளி இயக்கமாக அறிமுகமான தாலிபன், ஆப்கனின் ஆட்சி அதிகாரத்துக்கு வந்தபோது தனது உக்கிரமான அடிப்படைவாதச் சட்டங்களின் மூலம் ஆப்கன் சரித்திரத்திலேயே அதுவரை இல்லாத கொடுங்கோல் ஆட்சியை அறிமுகப்படுத்தியது. ஆட்சியில் இருந்து வீழ்த்தப்பட்ட பின்பு அல் காயிதாவுடன் அதுவரை அவர்களுக்கு இருந்த ரகசியத் தொடர்பு வெளிப்படை ஆனது. அல் காயிதாவின் அமெரிக்கத் தாக்குதல், தாலிபன்களின் முழு ஒத்துழைப்புடன் ஆப்கனிஸ்தானில் இருந்தே திட்டமிடப்பட்டது. அதன்பிறகு நடந்த யுத்தத்தில் முற்று முழுதாகத் தாலிபன் தன்னை அல் காயிதாவுக்கு அர்ப்பணித்தது. ஆப்கனிஸ்தான் என்னும் தேசம் உருக்குலைந்து போன வரலாற்றில் தாலிபனின் பங்களிப்பு மிகப் பெரிது. அதை அங்குலம் அங்குலமாக எடுத்துக் காட்டுகிறது இந்நூல்.

About the author

Raghavan was born in Adyar, Chennai and spent his early years in many villages of Chengalpet District because of the frequent transfers of his father in his job. In the mid-1980s, his family shifted and settled in Chennai where Raghavanfinished his school and college studies in 1988. Even though he has completed a course in Mechanical Engineering, he did not want to take a job in a factory because of the interest in writing. Raghavan started his career as a sub-editor in Amudhasurabi Monthly Magazine. The famous weekly magazine kalki offered him the post Assistant Editor in 1992 after he showed his talent in humorous articles and stories.

Raghavan worked as an assistant editor in Kalki for about 8 years and joined in kumudam the No.1. Tamil weekly magazine in 2000. After completing a full year in Kumudam as Assistant Editor, he was appointed as the Editor in Charge for then newly started by monthly Kumudam Junction.

Raghavan left the magazine industry and became involved in publishing in 2003 and presently leading the Tamil Division (‘'Kizhakku Pathippagam'’) of New Horizon Media Private Limited.

விமானத்தின் சக்கரத்தில் தன்னை பிணைத்துக் கொண்டு ஆப்கானிஸ்தானை விட்டு தப்பித்து செல்ல முயற்சித்து கீழே இருவர் விழுந்த காணொளியை பார்த்தபோது, "இப்டி போனா சாவு சர்வநிச்சயம்ன்னு தெரிஞ்சும் ஏன் இப்டி பன்றாங்க. அதுக்கு அங்கேயே இருந்து சமாளிக்கலாமே" என்று தான் முதலில் யோசித்தேன். ஆனால் கடந்த முறை (1996 - 2001) தாலிபன்கள் ஆட்சியைப் பிடித்த போது அவர்கள் செய்த அட்டூழியங்களை புத்தகத்தில் வாசித்த போது அந்த விமான சம்பவத்தின் பின்னே இருந்த மக்களின் பீதியை புரிந்து கொள்ள முடிகிறது.

வேறொருவனை விரும்புகிறாள் என்பதற்காக காச நோயால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட 70 வயது கிழவனை பணத்திற்கு ஆசைப்பட்டு பெற்றோர் திருமணம் செய்து வைத்துவிட தன் காதலோனோடு ஆப்கானிஸ்தானை விட்டு தப்பி பாகிஸ்தான் செல்ல முற்படும் பெண்ணும் அவளது காதலனும் கட்டி வைத்து கல்லால் அடித்துக் கொல்லப்படுவது காட்டுமிராண்டித்தனம் என்றால் ஹஸாராக்கள் (ஒரு இனக்குழு) அதிகம் வசித்த மஸார் ஈ ஷரிஃப் என்ற ஊரில் இரண்டே நாளில் 8000 பேரை கொன்றொழித்த இனப்படுகொலை காட்டுமிராண்டித்தனத்திற்கும் அப்பாற்பட்டது. ஜனநாயகம் வேண்டாம் அதற்காக ஷேவ் செய்ய கூடாது, ரேடியோ கேட்க கூடாது, பெண்கள் நெயில் பாலிஷ் போட கூடாது, சிரிக்க கூடாது, சத்தம் போட்டு பேச கூடாது என்ற வெகு சாதாரண அன்றாட பழக்க வழக்கங்களுக்கு கூடவா தடை விதிப்பது?

மத அடிப்படை வாதம் என்ற மனநோய் கொண்ட கும்பலிடம் சிக்கி சீரழிந்த மக்கள் மீண்டும் அவர்கள் கைகளில் சிக்கி இருப்பது நிம்மதி, சுதந்திரம் என்ற வார்த்தைகளின் பொருளை ஆப்கனுக்கும் ஆப்கன் மக்களுக்கும் உணரவே முடியாதோ என்ற எண்ணத்தை தான் கொடுக்கிறது. தனிப்பட்ட நாடுகளின், இன குழுக்களின் அரசியல் மற்றும் பொருளாதார நோக்கங்களுக்காக ஆப்கானிஸ்தான் மக்கள் எத்தனை காலத்திற்கு பந்தாடப்படுவார்களோ தெரியவில்லை. இவை அனைத்தையும் மதத்தின் பேரை சொல்லிக் கொண்டு அவர்கள் செய்வது தான் கொடுமை.

தாலிபன்களின் வளர்ச்சியும் (தற்காலிகமாக அவர்கள் அப்போது அடைந்த) வீழ்ச்சியும் பா.ராவின் எழுத்தில் பரபரப்பான த்ரில்லர் நாவலுக்கு உரிய பாணியில் சொல்லப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. bynge-ல் கடந்த வெள்ளி முதல் அவர் எழுத தொடங்கி இருக்கும் "மீண்டும் தாலிபன்" தொடர் வாசிப்பதற்கு முன் இதனை வாசித்துவிடுவது தாலிபன் குறித்த நல்ல அறிமுகத்தை கொடுக்கும்.

This book tells the history of Taliban. The way the author had written the story is really superb. He writes it as if he was there on the spot and witnessed each event.

Very interesting and informative

PaRa's significant work, this non fiction gives clear insights about Taliban, their early days, strengths and weaknesses. I highly recommend this to all who want to know the recent history of Afghanistan.

Really shocking to know the Afgan people's state in Taliban rule. Can't understand how talibans came up with the anti-social beliefs. Might be they could have confused Imperialism with Modern culture.

A thought provoking book, dealing with the birth and rise of taliban from multiple political perspectives - a good read, only if you can discount the story-telling kind of narration for a serious subject, which infact is the character of all his books.

author briefly shows the rise of taliban and how American and Pakistan helps taliban and how the lost their people's help and their myths about gid and lot was told in this book... good book... I think most of the character name was used by Kamal hasan in vishwaroobam movie....

mulla omar and taliban growth and decline history .interesting to read with emotional style and reality of taliban life. pa.raghavan books are very well to read
