While this might be a good quick reference tool for those folks just starting to learn about American History, in general, it's not a good choice. The inclusions are random, coverage is spotty; there are much better books out there for the money.

However, it's handy because of its small size and is well made, so it would be very portable for a classroom or sharing with several students. Just be sure not to rely on this as the main source for any one topic.
