5 stars. I loved this. It takes place on Halloween night and primarily is based in an apartment building and Kallmaker takes into different apartments with a bunch of different couples. The stories are lightly connected and I loved every single one of them. There were established couples and people who had just met and there’s a lot of extremely hot and sometimes kinky sex involved. This was such a fun and entertaining read and I couldn’t get enough of it. Fantastic writing and a wonderful collection of stories and characters.

I genuinely enjoyed this book and the different relationships between the characters from one chapter to another (you’ll get what I mean once you’ve read it). It’s so easy to picture every scene with how well it’s written. There’s background to each character and enough depth to make you feel invested in what is happening.

An interesting look back in time at the San Francisco lesbian scene in the 90s/early 2000s. Dated for sure, but interesting to read.

This was the first lesbian book I bought. I can still clearly picture the three small shelfs of lesbian books to choice from at Border's and feeling like I struck paydirt when I landed on this book. They had the book turned with the cover facing out because it was just released or maybe to fill in extra shelf space but egardless of the actual rating from others this will always be a 5 to me because it's my first.

It was good. I preferred the early chapters to the later ones, but a good solid overview of what goes on in some bedrooms in the Castro and beyond. =)
