Blood Ties

Rate this book
Orion, a centuries-old vampire, lives by three rules:

Trust no one.
Need no one.
And never fall in love.

But his mortal Associate, Kira, turns his world upside-down and tempts him to abandon his solitary path. On the day she stuns him by delivering her resignation--to wed a man who works for Orion's sworn enemies--he realizes he's broken all three of his rules. And in the next instant, all he owns is destroyed in shocking betrayal. The attack leaves Orion without a safe haven, and what's worse, with Kira dying in his arms.

And now Orion will live by a new law--do whatever it takes to save Kira and convince her to join him in eternal night.

About the author

Amelia Elias

16 books43 followers
Meet Amelia Elias, mother of ten (okay, so some of her ‘kids’ have four legs and a tail), home health nurse (which is great because it affords her so much time to sit and chat with her clients), and author of many stories (most of them written to shut up those persistent voices in her head—though new ones always take their place). Amelia is slender, buxom, graceful, plays classical piano, speaks 17 languages, is always immaculately dressed, and is titled nobility on an oilrig off the coast of England.

And the nobility thing is actually true.

Amelia writes about everything from genies in a bottle, to gods and goddesses, to gorgeous vampires and hot, sexy Fae. Her stories are set in such locations as Olympus, two versions of an alternate Earth, vampire-owned nightclubs, and the really, truly crazy ones happen in the real world.

Some say she can be a bit scattered with her writing. Amelia disagrees, arguing, “No, not at all! I am very focused and… and… wait, do you have a pen? I just got a great idea for a romance between a shape-shifting ghost and an alien!”

Disappointed

I was so disappointed in this book I gave it one star because I had to in reality it deserves no stars because there was no story development. The main characters were never fleshed out so there was no reason to care about them .

2.5 stars. this short has its good bits and its bad bits. the heroine is pretty spunky but she doesn't seem terribly bright which kinda ruins it. the hero is protective but also a little psycho. the sex scenes wouldve been really hot except that's when his psycho domineering personality always pops out to piss me off which is not conducive to enjoying such a scene. the story was interesting and well paced for a short. the romance is rushed though and in many places awkward because the hero acts like he owns her or something (then two pages later is coddling her). overall this book wasn't that thrilling it had potential but the heroes over the top alpha male thing ruined it. I'll try the sequel but only because they're shorts

I really, really liked this one. It was lacking depth and I think the beginning could have used a little bit more set up as it was so sudden I felt like I'd skipped a few paragraphs somewhere. It was still hot and romantic enough to keep me happy though.

I'm so glad that I found this series. I really enjoy Ms. Elias' world building and the characters she develops.
Intense, fast paced, sexually charged story.
Loved it!
Highly recommend!!!
