This book is a “MUST” read for those who are interested in continuous learning and improving themselves. One of the 2-3 best books I’ve ever read on the matter. There is a lot of excellent reflexions in this book. The author brings it really to the point. He uses excellent quotes at the begining of each chapter and in the chapters inside as well.
Learning is only possible, so the author and I fully agree with him, if oneself is open to change. Unfortunately, this is the big challenge. People usually shows resiliance to change. People get too used to their confort zone. As the author quotes in one of his chapters heading: “There is a time for departure, even when there’s no certain place to go, by Tennessee Williams” and “When one jumps over the edge, one is bound to land somewhere, by D.H. Lawrence”.

Although the content is focused on managerial organizational change in enterprises and thus addressed to professionals of all types, all the wise advices can be portated to personal life. A 5 stars book without any doubt.

Some extracts I liked (there are many others):
“[...] Focus on yourself”.
“[...] Behavioral change is a very complex issue. A typical combination of stubborness, avoidance of pain, illusion, and short-term thinking can prevent even the best of us from really making progress”.
“[...] Performance buys freedom [...]”.
“What will optimize the potential for results is not just what is said, but also when it is said”.
“[...] Feelings are everywhere. Be gentle”.
