“IF YOU KNEW HOW THE LOVE STORY FINISHED-WOULD YOU TURN THE FIRST PAGE?”
Amy has inherited a gift (curse?) from her mother. As soon as she kisses someone, she knows, in intimate, vivid detail, how their relationship will end. She can see the screaming argument in the middle of the supermarket over milk, or the explicit email sent to the wrong address, which will end it all.
It’s hard to stay positive, but Amy has a supportive group of friends and a wicked sense of humor.
And, then at her best friend Charlotte’s wedding-the unthinkable happens! She kisses someone and sees her very first HAPPILY EVER AFTER!
The only problem? She was drinking quite a bit, and kissed three men. Which of the three is her “meant to be”?

Although, I lack Amy’s “gift”- I had a feeling from the start who she would end up with-but I enjoyed Amy’s quest to figure out which man was her “one and only”!

I enjoyed this book so much. I loved that it wasn't just a romance and that Amy is dealing with her mom's dementia. I have dealt with dementia and Alzheimer's in my own family and there is a quote from the book that particularly touched my heart..."It's hard when you miss someone when they stood right in front of you?"
The premise of this one was such fun, in a romantic way. Imagine being able to see your future with someone when you kiss them! This was such a fast paced, easy read and it was a joy to get lost in the pages. I loved being on Amy's journey to find "The One", I was excited for Amy to find her man. And even though the story was a touch magical the characters felt authentic, that was no easy feat by the author. Amy and her pals were characters I loved, people I genuinely liked and would be friends with. I loved how this group was like family and how Amy made her mom and her friends a priority. There is also a very diverse cast of characters and I appreciated that.
One of the characters is into plants, flowers and nature in general. I loved the descriptions of the flora and fauna and the walks in the parks. I felt like I was there with the sunshine on my shoulders and the smells in my nose. It made me feel happy.
Even though I figured out who "The One" was before the big reveal it didn't take away any of my enjoyment of the journey to get there, it was just so much fun, so I just sat back and enjoyed the ride. I loved this group so much and I was cheering them on in their different endeavours. It was so engaging I read it in a couple of sittings. Highly recommend!

Skip to the End by Molly James is a Chick Lit and Romance Fiction Story!
Amy Daniels has a special gift. Her mom has it, too. When she kisses someone, she has visions or premonitions, if you will, showing how their relationship ends.
Amy's been looking for her 'Happily Ever After' for a long time. She hasn't found him yet but she knows he's out there. Somewhere. It's just a matter of time or...not.
At her best friend Charlotte's wedding, Amy has mostly given up on her 'HEA' search when she decides to go all in and 'drunk-kisses' three different men during the reception. One of them IS her 'Perfect Ending'.
The next morning, Amy realizes she was far too drunk to remember who she kissed or which of the three is her 'Forever After'.
Now Amy's on a desperate mission to discover the identity of her long awaited 'Perfect Ending'...
Despite deciding I was steering clear of Chick Lit for an extended period of time, here I am once again writing a review for the one I just finished.
Will I never learn?
The premise of Skip to the End really spoke to me, however, I failed to read the synopsis completely, and instead I leaped for the request button. I missed the words, "...she drunkenly kisses three men..." and combining that with copious amounts of alcohol mixed with immature thirty-year-old characters, it becomes a deal breaker for me.
Why do I do this to myself?
The Magical Realism aspect of this story is implied so it never shows its face. I always expect something magical with those two words but it doesn't happen here. Another disappointment.
Then, Amy's elimination process takes its precious time and I know this sounds corny, but I really just wanted to "Skip to the End" at that point. (Sorry, I couldn't help myself.)
I did enjoy how Skip to the End ended and I also thought the topic of Alzheimer's was handled respectfully and enjoyed it's inclusion. Well done!
I'm happy to see many positive reviews and high ratings for Skip to the End but honestly, I was looking for something a little different than what this story delivered. Clearly, and obviously, I'm not the right audience for this book.

ME: “Magical” stories just aren’t really my thing.
ALSO ME: Want to watch this for the 25,000th time????
(In case you aren’t familiar, that’s a clip from When In Rome – a story about an unlucky in love woman who steals coins from the Fountain of Love in Rome and then finds herself pursued by multiple suitors which makes her doubt the authenticity of a love connection she thought she had made. It is delightful and I have a crush on both Josh Duhamel and Kristen Bell.)
This book isn’t necessarily like that one at all, but it did provide the same vibe. Amy has inherited the family curse that has befallen every female for as many generations back as anyone can remember. When she shares a first kiss she foresees how the entire relationship will pan out . . . . and it’s never been good. While attending the wedding of one of her best friends (there’s the only When In Rome connection – a wedding), she imbibes a bit too much and does some smooching with three different fellas – one who is for sure her happily ever after. The only problem? The next day she has no idea of who it was she kissed.
Okay, so this was nearly perfect for me. Although it’s obvious who Mr. Right is straight away, the getting there was so satisfying and I live for a quality friend group like what can be found in Bridget Jones or Four Weddings and a Funeral.
Highly recommended to hope(ful)less romantics.

LOVED IT. A 5 for me!
Skip to the End is about Amy Daniels. She is doing well in life. She has great friends but she doesn't do well in the love department.
Amy has a gift. Women in her family all do. When Amy kisses a man, she knows exactly how the relationship will end. Is the guy a cheater? is the guy dangerous? Will Amy get hurt physically or emotionally? So you can see, how this would make her fearful of failure.
Then, during her friend Charlotte's wedding, she drinks a little too much and she kisses three men. The next day, she knows one of the three was her happy ending. The problem is that she can't recall who was the right guy for her and who wasn't.
Amy will embark on a quest to find the right guy with the few clues she has.
I knew her HEA from the very beginning but I was not going to tell Amy. She needed to go through the motions of realizing who was the right guy for her.
I thought this was a great premise with wonderful characters and situations.

Amy finds out she has a special power that is passed down from mother to daughter. Or maybe it’s a curse. When she first kisses a man, if she gets a premonition, or vision, it will tell her how her relationship or romance will end with that person. In the opening scene, she’s flirting with someone she may be interested in, kisses him, and finds out he has a pregnant girlfriend. She’s out of there.
Charlotte has found her one true love and is getting married to Marcus. The friends celebrate as you do at weddings, and Amy has more than a few drinks. She’s having a blast dancing and flirting her way around the dance floor. When she wakes up the next morning, Amy has three visions rapidly flash in her mind. She sees two relationship fails, and surprisingly a happily-ever-after. The problem is that she doesn’t know who she kissed! The friends try to piece together the night, and think they’ve figured out two of the men so while waiting for photos, Amy begins her search to find her future.
Often amusing, Amy dates and the friends try to help while living their lives. It’s a “Friends” (tv show) feeling story where you learn pieces of all their lives and how they intersect with Amy while she’s on a mission to find love.
Lots of 80’s and 90’s tv shows and characters mentioned as well as local language and idioms of the London area.
I really enjoyed the friendships and support the group gave each other. The journey was a lot of everyday life including some sadness from Amy’s mother with dementia. Amy does find her third kiss which had me crying in happiness.

Initial Thoughts
This was good! I thought that the premise was really fun. Amy, along with the other women in her family, has a special gift. Whenever Amy kisses someone she can see how the relationship will work out. At her friends wedding, she knows that she kissed the man for her but she can't remember the three men she kissed. It is obvious to the reader who will be Amy's happily ever after pretty early in the book but it was fun watching Amy figure things out. I listened to the audiobook and thought that the narrator did a great job with the story.

This had a very cool premise. Amy Daniels, along with all the women in her family, are cursed with ability to see the future of a relationship after a first kiss. After years of unsuccessful attempts to find her happy ending, Amy drunkenly kisses three men in one night and finally finds him—the one! The only problem? She can't remember his face or name.
I really liked the discussions around fate. Yes, Amy technically can save herself from a terrible relationship, but what does she miss in the process by knowing where her love story ends. It's an interesting thought! On top of that, I thought it was sweet to include her mother's unexpected experience with the curse. It was heartwarming!
With that said, I knew who Amy would end up with even before she kisses anyone. It was glaringly obvious. I hoped for most twists and turns. Because of that, it was very tedious to read through pages and pages of Amy dating men I had no care for. Like the title says, I wanted to skip to the end simply to have more on-page time with the true love interest.

I needed a great romance and this was it! I loved the idea of a woman inheriting the ability to know how her romances will end with the first kiss. All the characters were developed well and I squealed at the HEA.
This was a great romance novel. I know some readers may complain that they can see the ending waving at them at a certain point, but I take comfort in the fact that there were no big crazy things happening. I did love the fact that the main character, Amy, at one point is seeing two guys who you can see potential with though.
"Skip to the End" follows Amy Daniels who has a unique gift. If she kisses a guy, she can see how they will end. And that has led to a lot of dumpster fire relationships. But it has also saved her actual physical violence. She's fed up with her gift, but at one of her best friend's wedding, she gets cajoled into kissing some random guys to just have fun and let her hair down. Cue the morning after and she drank so much she can't remember who she kissed but knows it was at least 3 men. The book follows her trying to track down and date the man in question. Because she realizes one of them she kissed, is the one.
I loved Amy and the other characters in this one. James perfectly captures that age when your friend's get married and move on from the friend circle and how jarring and sad that is for all concerned. Amy though seems more mature than at least one of the best friend's in the 5 person group.
The writing was funny in places. I am going to ignore the obvious typos (ARC copy people) and just say that the flow was right on. We move back and forth between Amy, some really sad stuff in her life, and the guys she is dating. Everything somehow works.
And the ending I thought was great. I would have loved loved loved a love scene though. That's my only quibble.

The synopsis and cover drew me in instantly with this one, it just looks and sounds amazing. So is it? Why yes, yes it is. I read it in 4 hours cause I couldn’t put it down. This is the perfect rom-com filled with humour, likeable characters, and an awesome plot. This is the perfect summer read for round the pool or on the beach. If you like chick-lit or romcoms you definitely need to read this one ASAP.

Außerdem ist mir noch aufgefallen, wie oft ihr Aussehen oder auch ihre Hygiene ein Thema für sie ist, sie fühlt sich oft unwohl in ihrer Haut, aber es ist auch eher etwas, das für sie ein Problem ist und das die meisten Menschen bei ihr nie ansprechen. Ich hätte aber bei der Inhaltsbeschreibung aber nicht unbedingt erwartet, dass ihre engsten Freunde alle von ihrer besonderen Fähigkeit wissen und sie alle gemeinsam daran arbeiten, den Richtigen zu finden. Die verschiedenen Freundschaften fand ich aber auch süß, auch wenn sie schon etwas viel Raum eingenommen haben.

*Sigh* Well, Skip to the End failed to launch. For me, it started off strangely with the main character testing out mattresses with a salesman nicknamed Mattress Matt... Maybe that was supposed to invoke some giggles, but for me, it was pretty cringe-worthy.
The novel had promise based on the description -- premonitions of the future based on a kiss. But at least 1/3 of the novel focused on a friend's wedding and plans. It was a little boring.
Maybe I didn't appreciate the author's writing style as I just couldn't connect with any of the characters. And the attempts at humor didn't quite make first base with me.
So, after reading 34% of the novel, I struggled to move forward. Skipped a few chapters, then read the ending. No surprise there. At that point, I threw in the towel. An unfortunate one star DNF.

Equally funny and heartfelt, this book follows Amy who has inherited the unique ability to see how any relationship will end after a first kiss.
Feeling like she’s never going to find “the one” she gets drunk at her friend’s wedding and ends up kissing three men - one of whom is the man she’s destined to live happily ever after with. The problem is she can’t remember all the men or which kiss was which.

Skip to the end… is exactly what I wanted to do when I read this book. I really was excited to read this advanced copy of the book as soon as I read the blurb. Who wouldn’t want to be able to kiss someone and know if it ends in happiness or sorrow but for me the expectation was not met.
I will start with the positives, the concept is brilliant I love this idea that a woman has this ability to kiss a man and she will know how it will end. I also enjoyed the bits with Amy and her mum as they were very sweet and it did melt my heart (I wish I could share which part but feel like that would be a spoiler). When we found out who was the guy I was happy but I wanted more cause I knew it was him from the start and it felt very rushed.
But I have to rate this low because of the following reasons. This book was not personally enjoyable for me and took me several days to power through as I wanted to give it a fair review and some parts were slow while others rushed. I didn’t fall in love with any of the characters which is what I want to be able to do when I read a book even if it is a side character. I felt that the plot was predictable after the first few chapters which don’t get me wrong is fine but for a mystery who is it story I wanted a bit more of a guessing game. Ultimately the novel was a miscommunication trope and sometimes that goes well but rarely and this for me was one of the times where I didn’t enjoy it.
I think had the plot been rearranged a little to start with the mysterious kisses and then move to building the history of Amy’s power (which would have been nice to see more of and understand more context to how it came to be - I mean this is set in the real world so this power is not common), then to being introduced to her friends via the plot, the man hunt and ultimately the reveal. I probably would have rated the book higher.

I was intrigued by the premise of this book and that's why I wanted to read it.
Amy kisses men and she has the ability to see how the relationship is going to end. At her friend's wedding, she drunkenly kisses three men and sees one perfect ending, but she can't remember who she kissed. Sounds cute, right?
Unfortunately, it's pretty clear who Amy will end up with from the beginning, so I felt like all the rest of the book was pretty pointless. I just wanted to skip to the end. LOL

Skip to the End is a cutesie rom-com style story where the protagonist Amy has been gifted with her family’s ability to see a premonition of how a relationship will end just by sharing a first kiss.
The concept really pulled me in and the cover is attractive but for me it felt a little predictable. It seemed kind of obvious who the “happy ever after” was going to be from about 40% in and the remaining 60% just seemed to be extra plot lines to keep it going until the inevitable happened. Despite this it’s still an easy read and if you’re looking for something to lose yourself in, this is a gem.

Contemporary romance is not my preferred genre, but this was adorable and sweet. I actually had a hard time putting this book down and finished it in one day.

When I read the synopsis for Skip to the End I was instantly intrigued. I love books about fate and destiny and I thought this was a fun twist on the trope. The writing was enjoyable and entertaining, but the big mystery of the book was very obvious right from the start. Unfortunately, this made the novel drag a bit, since I knew the majority of the novel was filler until the big reveal. This also made the actual reveal a bit anticlimactic, but I was happy that Amy and the MMC finally figured things out. I actually wish we would have had more page time with them together and happy and it was disappointing that that one slightly open door scene was not between them. The friend group was probably my favorite part of the novel. May, Charlotte, Gareth, Jay, and Amy created such a beautiful found family and I loved how supportive and wonderful they were together.
The narration by Kitty Kelly was really enjoyable. I did have trouble sometimes differentiating between the different characters, but overall it was a great listening experience.

"Skip to the End" by Molly James is a great book with a fun, unique premise. This book combines the drama with the fantastical, complete with engaging dialogue, frequently silly banter, excellent secondary characters, an interesting commentary on dementia, true love, and mother/daughter relationships, and even a (very) slight mystery element. Though the ultimate ending of this story is pretty easy to guess (and guessable very early on), the road to get there is still entertaining and often heartwarming. I very much enjoyed following Amy as a main character. I was drawn into the magical realism of her life and enjoyed watching her eliminate the different men who might be "the one" for her. I loved her attitude, her demeanor, her sarcasm, her wit, everything! I also loved seeing the varied different personalities of the guys she has decided to date. I adored Gareth, what a perfect, swoon-worthy main male character! This book reminded me of "Fleabag" a little, or something like "Bridget Jones's Diary," so if you're into that sort of thing, give this book a shot! You won't be disappointed! If you don't think you're into fantastical romances, I implore you, give this one a shot. It might surprise you!

What immediately caught my eye about this book was the synopsis. The concept of the kiss-premonitions was pretty cool and made me reflect on how the uncertainty of our (love) life can be a source of anxiety as well as the main reason for the thrill.
The story, albeit a bit predictable , was extremely enjoyable and sweet.
I liked the friendship dynamics and the relationship between Amy and her mum.

Amy has a gift (or a curse) if she first kisses someone she sees how the relationship ends. At one of her best friends weddings. Amy gets drunk and has 3 first kisses and premonitions and one is a happy ending. Amy has to try and figure out who was whom.
I loved this one so much. It's like a warm hug. I laughed and cried. This is definitely a new favorite.

Nope. I can`t do this anymore. Amy was annoying and boring. She was trying to hard to be interesting but failing. None of the characters intersted me and it felt like it was all over the place.

Amy Daniels has a unique gift – when she kisses someone for the first time, she can see how it’s all going to end up! Is there any wonder that she’s still single when she can see how where things will go! Up until now she’s only had bad endings, but at a friend’s wedding she drunkenly kisses three men and one of them is a happy ending! The problem is, she can’t remember which one of them it was!
This was a fun, light-hearted read with an unusual twist to it! Amy is a likeable character and I enjoyed following her story to find out who the mystery man was! It could only have been one of three men, but it wasn’t easy for her to find out which one of them it was! The storyline held my attention as I wondered, along with Amy, which one he was going to be! Of course, I had my suspicions but nonetheless I found myself happily entertained by Amy and her friends throughout the search!

This was a lovely read - perfect as a summer holiday beach read, and I found the storyline surprisingly and refreshingly different! Ich weiß gar nicht wo ich richtig anfangen soll. Als ich das 1.Kapitel von der Leseprobe gelesen habe, war ich wirklich hin und her gerissen und wollte dieses Buch unbedingt haben, um es lesen und rezensieren zu können. Leider war das Buch doch nicht ganz so gut wie erhofft. Durch das erste Kapitel hatte ich schon eine sehr große Erwartung, die leider nicht so ganz getroffen wurde. Ich muss sagen an sich ist das Buch echt nicht schlecht und viele Passagen haben mir sehr gefallen und mich zum Lachen gebracht.
Doch es gab auch einige Stellen an denen ich nicht ganz verstanden habe, was gerade passiert und wo ich jetzt bin. Das hat mich echt verwirrt gehabt. Mir hat außerdem nicht so wirklich gefallen, dass man überhaupt nicht viel von Amy's Privatleben wie z. B. Arbeit mitbekommen hat. Es ging wirklich fast ausschließlich um diese 3 Typen, die sie geküsst hatte und den richtigen finden musste.
Trotzallem hab ich Amy sehr ins Herz geschlossen genauso wie May, Jay, Charlotte und Gareth.

Trotzallem hab ich Amy sehr ins Herz geschlossen genauso wie May, Jay, Charlotte und Gareth.
Das Ende hat mich total Glücklich gemacht und ich hatte schon von Anfang an das Gefühl, wer der Richtige für Amy sein wird.
Trotz der anfänglichen Schwierigkeiten das Buch zu lesen, habe ich das Buch sehr geliebt und die Geschichte ist mal was anderes und sehr empfehlenswert.

Amy hat eine besondere Gabe von ihrer Mutter geerbt - immer, wenn sie jemanden zum ersten Mal küsst, hat sie eine Vision, die das Ende der Beziehung zeigt.
Auf der Hochzeit ihrer besten Freundin küsst sie drei Männer, davon zwei Nieten und das lang ersehnte Happy End. Nur leider kann sie sich aufgrund des Alkohols nicht mehr an die Männer erinnern und versucht ihren Mr. Right zu finden.
Der Klappentext und das Cover haben mich direkt überzeugt. Beides zusammen schreit nach einer humorvollen Liebesgeschichte. Trotzdem kommen auch ernstere Themen nicht zu kurz. Der lockere Schreibstil sorgt dafür, dass man das Buch kaum aus der Hand legen möchte.
Amy und ihre Clique sind wunderbar abwechslungsreiche Charaktere. Jeder hat seine ganz eigene Art und zusammen ergeben sie eine tolle Mischung. Es macht wirklich Spaß sie durch die tückische Suche zu begleiten und mitzurätseln.
Auch wenn mir ziemlich schnell klar war, wer Amys Mr. Right ist, wurde ich von diesem Buch nicht enttäuscht. Eine schöne, kurzweilige Geschichte, die ich absolut empfehlen kann!

Such a lovely concept of finding out how your future will be with someone just from one kiss. I loved the story and it flowed so well and it felt like I knew the people. It felt a bit like a Bridget Jones style trying to find mr right. I loved the journey or Amy trying to find out who her ‘the one’ was after she goes to her friends wedding and kissed 3 men and remembers one of them she had fireworks with and knew he was ‘the one’ but she can’t remember who she kissed or which one it could be.
This book had me laughing out loud in parts and was such a light hearted easy read. Definitely recommend
