Never in her wildest dreams did Rose imagine that she'd hold a proper conversation with her crush—yet here she is, enjoying the tea and apple-flavored snacks he brings just for her.
It's enough to almost make her forget that their peaceful days together will only last for so long. After all, once the potion is completed, that'll be the end of...whatever this is...
Updated Review 10/5/26: Ahhh, the LONGING of these two is so intense!
Granted, we don't see it as strongly in Harij's story as in Rose's, but that bonus short story AND manga definitely showed that he DOES like Rose and yearns for her too…
And poor Rose, she went through so much emotionally this volume! From the amazing moment of Harij defending her and saying how every human should be treated with respect to her trying a "test" where her feelings seemed like they could pour out at any second, she really went through a lot! My heart hurt for her, though, in how much she really doesn't want unrequited love. I felt her pain and could imagine if I were in her shoes, I would feel the same exact way.
Definitely another very good volume and going to dive into volume three ASAP! Though I will add that I forgot how spicy one of the sentences was in the short story and had to read it twice because I'm like, did I really just read that?! 😳
Original Review 5/22/23: Don't mind me as I finished reading this and then politely hugged my volume while giggling and smiling so big…
This volume was perfectionnnnn!! It definitely captured the elements I wanted more of in volume one because goodness, the butterflies I felt when reading this volume!! SQUEALS!
It's hard to pinpoint which part was my favorite because I am soooo here for this slowburn romance where they both respect each other as well as sarcastically poke at each other too. From the opening chapter where we see their banter, to the moment Sir Harij did all he could to help encourage others to respect Rose, to even his "revenge" at the end. Every page had me captivated, especially when seeing Rose's internal monologue. (Well, except maybe the moments she is doing everything in her power to NOT cave into her feelings and show her love for him.)
I enjoyed the "twist" in this volume because even if it's not a twist exactly(?), it was definitely one I didn't see coming! I'm not sure I can say anything else because anything I saw would be spoilers, but I am SO happy volume three is already up for preorder because I WILL be reading it!
ngl this is by far my favorite manga that i'm reading right now. for context, i'm also reading my happy marriage and i want to be a recepcionist in this magical world (i'm keeping up with the latest volume and so that's what i mean!).
if you want something cute with two people who lowkey are obsessed with each other but don't want to say it, read this immediately.
rose is a witch, she's very lonely, lives alone in the woods and doesn't have anyone pretty much. her day-to-day is crafting potions and giving them to the person who helps her sell them. on the other hand we have sir harij, a knight of the kingdom, who has come to her for a love potion (not for him). she does think it's for him so she is D E S T R O Y E D when he comes and requests one. but what comes after is such a soft, caring relationship and i'm here for it!
it has that very specific trope of "heroine forgets to eat and sleep so hero is SO WORRIED AND DOES EVERYTHING IN HIS POWER so she can eat every single day and sleep more hours" and i just love to see it in this particular story because rose has been alone for a while and the townspeople are afraid of her so no one comes near... except sir harij and i love their lil duo because they give and they take and they have so much fun together <3
vol2 was a good volume BUT VOLUME 3?!?!! let me write my review of that.
I think what I love most about this series is we get to see his POV and how perfectly parallel their feelings are! Also it’s just so cute, and she gave him a nibble which absolutely killed me
Would have been a 3 star except for that short story at the end…but we’ll get to that later! 😅😜
The characters’ interactions with each other are still as cute as they were in volume one and I chuckled a couple times, but this is a very slow, chill manga that focuses solely on the romance. That’s totally fine, but I need a bit more then that or at least characters I better connect with and I just don’t for either Rose or Harij. Especially not Harij after that blasted short story…
Okay, okay, let’s get to main event you’ve all been waiting for—the bonus short story. In this we get Harij’s POV on the potion scene (I won’t say more then that because of spoilers) which was fine until he started making illusions to, er, former relationships with other women and, ahem, the “pleasures” of it that just unhinged my jaw because like EXCUSE ME?! WHY did you feel the need to point that out and word stuff like that no matter how vague?!?! Unfortunately this has tainted my view on him because is his growing attraction to Rose real or just lust and I hate that I have to question that now! Just, UGH!!!!
Yeah, so THAT happened which is a huge bummer though I’ll read at least the next two volumes just because I have them from the library so why not. Hopefully nothing else uncomfortable for me will pop up in the next volume…
‼️Content‼️
Language: darn it
Violence: children throw mud on a woman
Sexual: mild suggestive hints that point to possible previous love affairs (only in the bonus short story)
Drugs/Alcohol: a witch makes potions; a girl drinks a love potion and is temporarily effected by it
A delight. These characters have such a natural pace and chemistry to their interactions. I’m so excited to see the next volume expand on this adorable story.
This has all but officially become a story of dual unrequited loves… for the same people! Harij has quite obviously developed feelings for Rose, feelings beyond friendship. Something I find particularly interesting, however, is just how differently he sees the world from Rose, including how they both perceive love. Love is universal, it does not discriminate, and yet Harij and Rose are so extremely different in how they both perceive the world and everything in it, as well as how they perceive their own feelings. The journey between Rose and Harij and the tumultuous feelings that develop as a result of how their views and communication styles differ has been, and continues to be, very fun to read. There is something to connect to in both of them, but they don’t feel like they’ve been written to be related to, but rather enjoyed as individuals all their own. On that note, I do enjoy Tien as well, and I like that we got to see a little bit more of him this time around. All three of these characters have personalities all their own, and I hope to get to know them as “friends”.

I’m feeling the vibessss Just loving the characters, ambient, everything. I kinda bummed that i have just 2 volumes left only. Maybe i will read the novels
11/03/2026 3.25 ⭐️ I love that plot twist, but it's a bit baffling for him to go through all of that to get ingredients for a potion that only works for half a day.
This volume was so good! We get some POV from Harij and get to know more about him. The potion trial scene was everything! The bonus POV story we get from Harij was truly what I love in romance books.
I finished the first volume right on time! The second volume was waiting for me when I got to work today.
After reading this, I need the third volume. Unfortunately, no library has it just yet.
I loved the scene where he stook up for her when from the kids that was throwing mud and stuff at her when she was going into town that day.
The potion is finished and Rose believes that she will no longer see Harji, now that he has no reason to visit her. She is wrong. She still visits her. She puts away the tablecloth and cups because of her assumption. Harji visits her when Tein coms to visit. Harij feels jealousy and wants to know who the guy is that is leaving her. She also has her hood down and the guy refers to her as Rose. Something Harji did not know. He called her Madam Witch.
Rose samples the potion and because she already has feelings for him, Harji just believes that she is acting this way because of the potion.
Reading the bonus story in his POV was amazing! I read someones review wishing that this manga has sexy scenes. Reading from Harji POV I did wish for that because of the lust he felt.
Rose admiting that she thought he loved someone else and him speaking that the potion was not for him, but someone else. He was not the one using the potion made me so happy. Finally! That gets cleared up. But him ordering another potion to ensure that he is able to spend more time with her while he waits for the potion to get finished. Maybe then they can clear the air about a few things.
I was so scared that Rose would use the potion on him and that was why he felt as if he was the one that drunk the potion, but no, his affect was because of him reacting to Rose. He wanted to do anything to make her happy, make her smile. He wanted to wipe her tears.
Ugh, I need the next volume. I havent seen anything online about a 4th manga volume but I hope there is more. I love slow burn romances but I just want them not to have this misunderstanding anymore.

If you thought this manga could not get any better... JUST WAIT.
Oh yes, they added the infamous "who did this to you?" trope. And sprinkled in the miscommunication trope, but we're ignoring that.
The Art: I've expressed before, but the art is top tier. It's gorgeous and fits so well with the shoujo vibe it is attempting to accomplish.
The Plot Line: Melt me into a puddle! This is absolutely adorable, and a spectacular continuation of the first manga. It clarifies the purpose of the love potion's creation, showcases how both the characters are discovering how intense their feelings are (without showcasing it outwardly... Darn you miscommunication trope), and begins the stages of their flirting phase
Overall: As many of my friends can attest, I love this manga series passionately. It's on par with The Fiancee of the Wizard, Emma, and Kobato. Cute, sweet, delicate romance. Romance that's truly about romancing and not just about lust. 10/10 will always recommend.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
The manga was good. Placement of short story was annoying.
I’m really enjoying this series. The story and artwork are quite good. But whoever decided to make the short story at the end read from right to left needs a talking to. There’s a warning that says to flip to the back of the book to read the short story, but that didn’t make sense to me because I was already AT the back of the book. Granted, I was pretty tired while trying to read it. However, I ended up convinced that the novel must not be worth reading if this was the sort of confused prose typically produced by the author. I flipped forward (to see how many more pages were in the story) and realized that I was supposed to go all the way to the very end of the book and read back towards the middle for the short story. *face palm* Being too tired to start over at that point, I had to put the book down and begin again after getting some sleep. Now, I admit I misunderstood the warning, but I still maintain that it was a bad editorial decision.
🌿💖 Hi, I'm a Witch, and My Crush Wants Me to Make a Love Potion
"With those memories, I can continue on alone."
Rose never imagined she’d get to talk properly with her crush, but here she is—sipping tea and enjoying apple-flavored snacks he brought just for her. 🍎☕
Their peaceful moments together are fleeting, though… once the love potion is complete, it could all be over. 😢
💭 Why I love it 1. Cozy slow-burn romance that warms your heart 💖 2. Harij is a gentleman in his own unique way 🏰 3. Watching feelings develop slowly and naturally is so satisfying ✨ 4. The love potion plot adds just the right amount of magic mischief 🧪 5. Already seen the first visual art for the anime adaptation—it’s gorgeous! 😍
This manga feels like curling up in a soft blanket with a warm cup of tea—sweet, comforting, and full of tiny heart-fluttering moments.
📺 With the anime adaptation announced, I’m already planning a binge reread!
💬 Question: Who else loves a slow-burn romance where the feelings bloom gradually? 🌸💞
this was absolutely adorable!!! every interaction between harij and rose had me grinning from ear to ear—especially in the later volumes when they finally confess their feelings. alongside the sweet romance, the story also touches on prejudice and discrimination against witches, which at times escalates into violence.
rose grew up with her grandmother, learning magic and witchcraft, but because witches have such a poor public reputation, she often kept to herself. four years ago, she overheard harij defending witches in public and instantly fell for him. but when he later came to her requesting a love potion for someone else, her heart quietly shattered.
i flew through this series. the plot stayed focused without getting bogged down by unnecessary drama, and the romance developed at a steady, satisfying pace. i’m beyond excited for what’s next—especially since harij is basically ready to call rose his wife already.
This volume was just as cute as the first. I'm glad that Rose now knows the truth about the love potion, but there's a miscommunication trope developing that I'm not a fan of. Despite the fact that Rose can't lie she's still doing a good job of not telling Harij how she feels.
I'm actually interested in the Princess's story and this marriage that she seems to be being forced into. I hope we see more of her story in the future volumes.
I can't believe Rose let Harij persuade her to test the love potion on herself! That scene was actually a little cringey. I'm not sure it was improved by the additional scene from Harij's point of view added at the end of this volume that shows he doesn't seem to have any initial attraction to Rose. I can't wait to see what he does with a second love potion though.
This was a fun read and I'm looking forward to the next volume.
Another very enjoyable, charming volume in this series. The art is gorgeous - especially the details on the clothes and the hair which really seems to flow realistically. It's cute, it's fluffy, it's a comfort read.
We get some nice scenes of the hero, Harij, defending Rose's honor from some dirty prejudiced peasants, and what's even better is Rose vowing to defend herself from now on. Rose is a bit of shrinking violet, so I really do hope she grows into her own in later volumes.
There's also plenty of yearning and pining, although I'm starting to hope we get some resolution soon and not just more scenes of everyone being emotionally constipated and bad at communicating.
Rating: ★★★★★ Cuteness Level: 🧪💘✨ Still absolutely adorable!
Volume 2 was just as sweet and wholesome as the first, maybe even cuter, if that’s possible! I’m still obsessed with the dynamic between the witch and her crush. Their awkward flirting, shy glances, and magical misunderstandings are everything I love in a cosy romance manga.
The story is light, funny, and full of heart. It’s like a warm hug in manga form. The art continues to be beautiful and expressive, and I loved seeing their relationship slowly grow.
If you’re into soft, feel-good romance with a sprinkle of magic, this series continues to deliver all the right vibes. Bring on Volume 3!
4.5 stars Ein super Band!
THE TENSION IS SO GOOD AND THE TESTING OF THE LOVE POTION LEADING TO AN ALMOST-KISS AUGHHHHHHHHHH
the miscommunication here was almost enough for me to knock off a star...they both need to just TALK to each other gah damn. luckily, they also made a ton of progress in their own way. him standing up for her against those stupid little kids...my heart!!!
also we get to find out the motives of his love potion order...the poor princess....I truly hope she gets her own happy ending.

I mean, she is a witch, can’t she have some life saving skills or something to counter balance how insanely naive she is?
Overall, this was fun to read. I LOVED the art. The visual story telling was really well done. As far as the narrative went, I was hoping Rose would turn out to be more than just a wide eyed naive FMC but… it was cute and I have the compulsion to keep reading.
