It's Cinderella in reverse when socialite Mallory Katherine Bellsford goes from riches to rags, compliments of Jonathan Ryan MacFarland, her guardian angel. Posing as taxi driver, Jonathan is waiting outside the church when Mallory, only moments away from say, 'I Do" learns that her fiance has a pregnant girlfriend.
Mallory soon discovers that the quirky Irish taxi driver is about to take her on the ride of her life. Jonathan has a mission to accomplish. He is charged with saving Mallory from self-destruction. He strips her of her identity and informs her that her life as a pampered rich girl is over. The only way to regain her former life is to open her heart. She must find, and then give, love.
Mission impossible, because Mallory doesn't believe in love. . . that is until Adam Chandler and his daughter Hope enter her life.
The book was well written. It is a novella so it gets to the point quickly, the characters of the book are developed early on in the book, you know who they are and what it is they are trying to make happen. The book is a cute read. Mallory the main character, is at her wedding when someone comes and says her groom or husband to be, is the father of her child. Obviously Malllory didn't stick around for the rest of the wedding, she went flying out of the church and hopped into a taxi. Jonathan is posing as a taxi driver, he is really her guardian angel. The changes in her life from that moment on are her own, she seems to side step the things Jonathan has set up for her. She makes choices that are a little rash only to be rescued by a very handsome man with a small child, a little girl, who needs help in keeping his little girl. He is trapped in a custody suit and agrees to marry Mallory, in order to be a better choice as to whom his little girl should be with. The marriage is to be in name only, things change.....enough before I blow the story. There are some other things to the story to keep it interesting, other people are introduced. I liked the story, and the ending. Everything is tied up nicely at the end. Some times a little predictable, so the author through in some complications to keep you guessing. Here is the write up from the back or the book:
