I received this book from LibraryThing's Early Reviewers giveaway from the February 2024 batch, yes I know here we are in April and I finally got to it but I am a mood reader and already had so many other books I had started before I got to this one. I never really know how to rate a book, but to rate one that I was given for free makes me even more anxious, so I will try to be as honest as I can be. I entered the giveaway because I have been slowly but surely getting into some rom coms and cozy books such as this. Stranded with a shifter is definitely something different and out of the box of what I would normally read, but it was cute and adorable. It is not necessarily a 5 star read for me because it was pretty short and didn't really build a lot of character development. To be fair it really read like an old school fairy tale story, it was really fast paced and quick cozy romance (no spice, which I have no issues with) so it's not a book of great depth.
I recommend that if you like a really fast romance , that has no spice but is cute. I enjoyed it for what it was a cute, short, magical romance.
Oh this was such a nice story. It’s very descriptive, I felt like I was tagging along with the two characters. It’s a short story that I was wishing was longer. Loved the characters! It’s perfect for the holidays Thanks to the author for the gifted copy
Kayla was having such a good day. She got off work a little early, got a nice bonus from the boss, and finished all her Christmas shopping with time to spare. She was standing in the street, just looking up at something, when Connor walked into her on the way to buy an outfit for meeting Santa that evening.
Connor is a reindeer shifter. He first shifted when he was 15, and his big dream was to become part of Santa’s team. His family hadn’t claimed a place on the team for several generations because one of them had arrived late on Christmas Eve. Hundreds took part in the reindeer games and each year only nine were chosen. Connor Prancer was one of them this year and would have the lead position.
Finished with shopping, Kayla heads off to Jessie's Café before she catches the train home. Celebrating his Christmas assignment for Santa, a cute guy offers to buy her coffee. As they are sitting down, his phone buzzes, he looks stricken, apologizes and runs off! His magic was very strong and he was only just learning to control his shifting, and he was running late. The elevator was out of order, the door to the stairs was locked, so he followed the sign saying the elevator in the toy section was working. But right behind him was the girl from the café. She wasn’t happy with him now, though, for running off. The elevator started down, then lights flickered and it stopped. Now she's stuck in the department store elevator with him and the jerk is having a panic attack, one which could make him lose control of his shifting! And his reindeer form is HUGE…
Grab your copy and see if they can get out of the elevator before his panic gets out of control and the worst happens!
"Stranded With A Shifter" is Book 1 of the Holiday Shifters series, written by Marie-Helene Lebeault. This is a really short 30 page read, part 1 of 4 books, about Kayla and Connor, a couple of teenagers. Kayla works at a patisserie in London, England. She describes herself as short for her age with extremely large blue eyes, cartoonish-like, but I could actually see her as a female anime character. She is shopping for last-minute Christmas gifts on Oxford Street when she meets a good-looking boy who has dark curly hair and beautiful green eyes and looks like a young George Clooney. Connor is a young man with a shapeshifting secret. He literally runs into Kayla in a coffee shop, buys her a cup of coffee, and then receives a phone call and has to leave right away. How can Connor tell her that it is Christmas Eve, with a full moon, and he will shapeshift into a reindeer (he's part of the Prancer family), that will lead Santa's sleigh tonight? This is a really cute and awesome story and I gave part one 5 stars. I will read Book 2 next.
It's time for holiday shopping and 16-year old Kayla is having such a fun day browsing festive shops on Oxford Street in London. Little does she know is that she will run into no other but a famous Christmas character, Connor (in his human form). Sparks fly when they share a cup of coffee and accidentally get stranded in the store elevator on Christmas Eve.
What an adorable read! It took me all of 30 minutes to read a complete mini book with alternating narratives, likable characters and magical Christmas atmosphere. I loved the description of busy London at Christmas and enjoyed the author's writing style. This is a YA romantic fantasy read, and the plot had an interesting holiday-style twist! There is a second mini-installment, and I can't wait to read it.
If you are looking for a quick clean romantic holiday read, this book is a great choice! Compact and delightful.
The book is a good, and enjoyable short young adult shifter romance read. The story has a good story line. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry. Connor is a reindeer shifter who was 15 when he first shifted. He wants to be on Santa team of reindeer but he is still learning to control his magic. He meet Kayla and offer to buy her but as they are sitting down his phone goes off. He looks sad and apologizes runs off. They both gets stuck in an elevator Connor having a panic attack which could make him lose control and shift into his reindeer form. Will they be able to get out before his panic gets out of control and the worst happens?

This was my first story by the author Marie-Hélène Lebeault, and I’m impressed at her ability to create interesting characters, a believable connection, and an endearing romance in this short story. I love the idea of a holiday romance, and this story certainly fits the bill being a Christmas story between two adolescents, one of whom may possess some magical abilities.
The story was well written, the characters are relatable, and the romance was cute and wholesome. The world was intriguing and easy to immerse myself in despite the brief story. I’m impressed, and I’m looking forward to reading more by this author and this series.
Stranded with a Shifter is a quick read that can be finished in about an hour. It is the story of a reindeer shifter with the last name Prancer, who is determined to get into Santa's good graces after a previous family member had caused a scandal. On Christmas Eve, there is a malfunctioning elevator that almost causes another catastrophe, but inadvertently leads to a love connection.
Knowing that the book is about one of Santa's reindeer falling in love should warn the reader that this is not heavy literature. The story is cute and fluffy, ending in a sweet happily ever after.
I received this book for free, but all opinions are my own.
loved it !!! love Connor and Kayla... this is their story ... a fast pace short story...Connor is so happy to be on Santa's team... he sees a cute girl asks her if she would have coffee with him... A unique little story that is brilliant for Christmas with its reindeer shifter main character. I was surprised by the content but would have loved more time with the main characters building something more. This ended on a lovely promise of further interactions as a possibility but I longed to experience it as the reader. It was a completely different take on that first spark that seems to be intense for shifters. Short and sweet with carrots definitely to be enjoyed.

Kayla and Connor met when he ran into her, literally, while she was standing in the middle of the street. They went their separate ways. After she was finished with her Christmas shopping, Kayla went to a cafe' while waiting to catch the train home. Connor happened to go to the cafe' also. Was he following her? Or did he just want a cup of coffee? Would they spend time together while there?
There are four books in this series, and they have to be read in order to understand what's going on. Very cute Christmas story.
I received a free ARC, and this is my honest opinion.

This was a wonderful cute meet. I love the concept of the reindeer for Santa being were animals. The wonder and magic of Christmas is apparent and the heroine is wanting to find it. This sets up for a fun and new series which I'm excited to read.
I chose to read and review this book. I enjoyed this book, It is well-written with great captivating characters. I liked the interactions between them. I hope to read more and wished it was longer. Great work recommend it.
I've always wanted to spend Christmas in London and this book took me there for a while which was lovely. I've been stuck in an elevator once and it would surely have been entirely different with Connor on board, lol. Loved the two together and the sweet Christmas vibes.
Absolutely adorable! This is a super quick, sweet read that manages to pack plenty of holiday and winter vibes, and introduce some fun characters. If you like sweet meet-cutes, read this one fore sure.
This sweet novella is a cute Christmas teenage romance. The characters were charming as they are introduced and explore first attractions. The storyline has enough conflict to provide some depth to their introduction. I enjoyed this light novella!
Kayla and Connor both have places to be but fate steps in to make sure they have time to get to know each other. This is a cute start to this new series. I received an advance copy but my review is honest and voluntary.
This story was a hoot to read. Although a quick read, get introduced to Kayla and Connor and how they met..hint it was funny. Made me laugh and giggle and I enjoyed it. Well written it made me want to see what happens next. A great story for the holidays too.
A light-hearted and fun holiday story. I look forward as she continues this series of short stories. We all could use a little more Santa in our lives…
A delightful short story. Kayla was having a great day until she has coffee with a Shifter. Not only does he bolt but whines when stuck in the elevator with her. Loved everything about the book.
The detail of London was great. I've never been there but this was so detailed, I felt like I was in the streets of London with them. I wish it was longer because I was just starting to like the characters.
Connor is a reindeer shifter. He meets Kayla at the mall, but makes a poor impression due to the time of day and being in a hurry. Will she give him another chance?
This is the first book I've read by this author. Very quick read.
I received an ARC via Story Origin. Review voluntarily given.
