Letting her go was a mistake. Getting her back may destroy us both.

Our love was legendary. Our future etched in my mind like a prophecy. Vera was fire, and I was the match. As a former Marine, I should have been prepared for the inevitable explosion that tore us apart, but it came so fast and hot it burned me to ash before I realized my mistake.

Now, I can’t get her out of my head. I tried to move on, but I wonder if that prophecy was right after all. Besides, she knows defeat isn’t a part of my skill set.

The battle for Vera’s heart becomes a fight for our lives as we’re thrust into a world where a secret organization wants us dead. Our future is only possible by letting go of the past, but a threat we never expected may end our second chance before it even begins…

Code Name: Falcon is a steamy and suspenseful super soldier romance that contains scenes that may be disturbing to some readers. It is intended for an adult audience. Check the author’s website for a complete list of content warnings.

Laura Mowery has had her nose in a book since she learned her ABC’s, so it's no surprise that she pursued a career as an author. She grew up obsessed with stories, especially any that included supernatural or otherworldly elements. She also loved to get swept away on romantic adventures. Now she gets to combine the two and write about what she loves; suspense, superpowers, and steamy romance.

Laura lives in San Diego, CA with her husband, two cats and a dog. If she’s not writing, you’ll find her adventuring with her husband, eating tacos, drinking local craft beer, or curled up with a book.

This is the 4th book in Laura Mowery’s Infinitum series. Much of this runs concurrently with books 2 & 3, Code Name: Sparrow and Code Name: Grizzly. While it does fully cover Garrett & Vera’s relationship, it doesn’t stand on its own - the books should all be read and in order. As such this review may contain spoilers to earlier books.

I’m usually not a fan of long lasting angsty, back-n-forth, push/pull relationship drama. Unfortunately, because of that and the revisiting of events during Sparrow & Grizzly retold from Garrett &/or Vera’s perspective, the first half of Falcon lagged for me.

That said, I truly enjoyed the second half. The pacing, action, and relationship were gripping. More secrets are revealed than just Garrett’s powers. Infinitum managed to infiltrate the group and the results are devastating.

I really like it when an author is able to help me connect with the antagonist and she did that here. While angry (and feeling as violent as the characters) at Elijah, I also found myself wanting him to get some kind of redemption. My heart broke for his situation.

Garrett and Vera are more than just great sex. They have overcome so much and I loved seeing them get their HFN. Not just in their relationship but being reunited with friends, found family, and even biological family as well. They’re not the only ones to find love in this story either.

As always, Mowery leaves me with almost as many questions as answers. I’m excited for the coming books.

Note: Not impacting my review, but I’d like to see the author create a family tree/chart or such showing the characters & how they’re connected. Something that would obviously evolve as the series continues and more is revealed. There are a LOT of characters to keep track of and it would be a nice refresher before diving in to each story.

I love this series and will continue to read the series, but this book was a struggle for me.

I felt the first half of the book was slow reading for me, and don’t get me started on the reason for Vera & Garrett split at the beginning of the book, unfortunately the reason for their breakup is a BIG no no for me, so much so that it was close to being a DNF for me.
I continued and pushed my way through the first half and was glad when I got to the “super soldier” action! The author writes this so well, the pace picks up and the team work together, because of the on-going storyline within the series I feel that these stories need to be read in order.

Once the action kicked in, the storyline had pace and kept me engrossed. There are a lot of characters in this book and series, so I feel it would be handy for the author to give us a little catch up at the start of each book of who is who, and what has happened so far (like a little recap) this may have had an impact on the slow start for me as I spent a bit of time trying to get my head back into the ongoing storyline.

Looking forward to reading Jordy & Skye’s book ❤️

Code Name: Falcon is the fourth installment of the Infinitum Series by Laura Mowery.
I have been on pins and needles waiting to read Garrett’s story since the big twist reveal in Code Name: Grizzly and was not disappointed. While you can read as a standalone, it’s a richer reading experience if you’ve read the first three books in the series.

The fight against Infinitum continues with more twists, secret pacts, shifting loyalties, evil twisted backstabbing bad guys and a gal. This one is truly a power struggle my super soldier loving friends. Though it all Garrett and Vera attempt to work through their issues and they have the worst timing of any couple I’ve ever read. Way to torture the reader Ms. Mowery. (Insert rolling eye emoji) Garrett takes the prize this time for my “Gibbs slap” him to the back of the head.

It's a credit to an author’s talent when they create a complex bad guy that you can’t help but feel for even while he is doing something evil. Eli is a victim of circumstance and I’m holding out hope that he crosses over from the dark side in the future.

If you love fast moving, complex romantic suspense stories with alpha males and strong females with superpowers packed with all kinds of emotion I highly suggest that you dive into this series head first!

I received and ARC copy from the author, and this is my honest review.

I have been DYING to read this book, and I have gone so far to annoy the hell out of Laura into letting me read it early, because of who I am as a person.

Garrett and Vera have a bumpy history, but their chemistry jumps off the page.

Unfortunately, life isn't smooth. And that's what I think this story completely nails. Life is messy! Mistakes are made, people misunderstand things, and questions don't get answered because of what *might* happen.

Vera is bad ass. She makes mistakes and owns them. Garrett is an adorable cinnamon roll who I just want to hug and squeeze--until he gets 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 good lord can that man make me melt! When he realizes that he might actually lose the love of his life, the heat kicks up.

Another thing I love about this story is our antagonist. When you feel the slightest bit of sympathy for the villain, you know that story has some serious bite.

Code Name: Falcon is what every second chance romance should be. I laughed. I cried. I shouted at Garrett and cried with Eli.

5/5 Stars!

The fourth book in the Infinitum series may be my favorite so far, and fyi, if you haven't read the previous three, I'd start there with Code Name: Timberwolf.
TW: There is a miscommunication and cheating in this installment. It sets the couple up for a steep climb to their HEA, but I loved Vera and Garrett together. They had to fight hard for their second chance, and in the end, it was worth it. I was also a fan of the MC element in this book. I hope we’ll see more of that in future books, maybe a little MC romance weaved in somewhere between the super soldiers and military men? Yes, please! And Brando has a lot to own up to. I can’t wait to read his book. He better get his sh!t together, is all I'm saying.

Code Name: Falcon is probably my favorite of the Infinitum series so far, especially with how angsty it was. I didn’t mind the slow-burn, back-and-forth of the first half because of how action-packed the second half was. I was hooked from the moment 'they' went after Vera (trying not to give spoilers).

I loved how realistic Vera and Garrett's relationship was. Like, yes, this is real life and we all make mistakes sometimes. They both hurt each other, but their undeniable chemistry made it hard for them to stay away and I'm so glad they found their way back together again.

And yes, it was a slow burn, but the spice was worth the wait.

Code Name Falcon is a steamy, second chance, suspense romance. Check the TWs before reading. Definitely recommend!

I received this book for my honest opinion. Unfortunately I DNF’d this book. I really tried to keep going but a big no no happened for me in the second chapter and I kept reading until 33% but I couldn’t get past it. I’m giving it 4 stars because the author is a great writer and this was just a me thing.

This is a must-read series. The action, romance, and story keep you turning the pages. You don't want to put the book down , but don't want to come to the last page.

Loved it

Another great one. I felt it dragged on in the beginning and some of it was fluff, but not enough to stop me from having to know what was going to happen once Garrett found out the truth. Lots of good twists.

What a great ride! This second chance romance brought the action and the heat. My favorite so far in the series. I loved the twists a turns. I will say that if you haven’t read the previous books parts won’t make as much sense but since I have, it was great.

This series keeps getting better and better!

I loved Vera and Garretts story, I struggled to put it down!
It was sweet, it was hot and it was real. A story where neither of the characters cover themselves in glory and both act in ways they regret so they have to make amends at various points, but this was all done so well. You spend a lot of time willing them to sort it out and get back together.

The main plot of the series weaves so intricately into each individual story, I am amazed how the author keeps track of all the different threads throughout the books. Especially as the timelines overlaps between the stories. But she somehow does it seamlessly!

I’m not normally a fan of miscommunication and there is some of that, particularly near the end, which nearly had me raging. But luckily (for my kindle) it did get resolved fairly quickly!

And of course, the just one bed trope was crammed in at multiple times too, which was just AWESOME!!!

*** I was lucky enough to receive an arc in exchange for my honest review.
