التشويق ببساطة....
ثلاث قصص قصيرة لثلاثة مؤلفين
لا يجمعهم سوى تشويق الانتظار الذي يقع للأبطال
ليس انتظار الرعب, بل انتظار الأمل!.

قرأت نسخة مختصرة, لأن العمر أقصر من أن أحيط بكل الروايات الكلاسيكية السابقة التي فاتتني. وأنا أريد فعلاً أن ألم بهم. لذا فالتقييم سيكون أقل مما قد تجده في النسخ الكاملة من القصص. ولذا أيضاً فلا يوجد الكثير لأتحدث عنه بخصوص القصص, ولكن دعنا نتعرف على كتابها وطرقهم
القصة الأولى بعنوان "السيدة أم النمر؟". عن ملك يضايقه وجود الكثير من الأشخاص السيئين في مملكته, فيصل إلى فكرة عجيبة لحل المشكلة.
أنشأ إستادا وفي يوم الافتتاح أخبرهم بأنه سيكون مخصص لمعاملة الناس السيئين أسبوعياً, بإلقائهم في الساحة أمام بابين, أحدهما به نمر ليقاتله, والآخر يوصل لفتاة جملية ليتزوجها ويعيش معها.
المؤلف هو "فرانك ستوكتون (1834–1902 )". كاتب وساخر أمريكي, لمع اسمه في أواخر القرن التاسع عشر ككاتب لمجموعة من قصص الأطفال. أكثر ما قد يميزه الآن هو استبداله الحكم الوعظية المتواجدة في قصص الأطفال, استبدلها بعرض النواقص البشرية بطريقة فكاهية مرحة ومسلية في قالب قصص المغامرات. عرض الجشع والعنف والتعسف في استخدام السلطة.

القصة الثانية: "ليلة رعب الآنسة بريسجيردل", تبدأ بموقف محرج, ثم يتسرب الرعب للإحراج!.
الكاتب "ستيسي أومونير(1877–1928)". بريطاني الجنسية, وصفه أحد أدباء نوبل بأنه أعظم من كتب القصة القصيرة على الإطلاق, وكان مشهورا بقصصه القصيرة المسلية إلى أقصى الحدود.
أنا مثلكم أسمع عنه لأول مرة, وبالبحث عنه وجدت اسمه في أحد سلسلة المقالات المنشورة في الإندبندنت بعنوان "كاتب منسي", وتحديداً كان هذا المنسي في المقال رقم 60. وهذا رابط للمقال الذي يعتمد منهج "اذكروا محاسن موتاكم": "كاتب منسي: رقم 60, ستيسي أومنير"

القصة الثالثة: "تمثال الشمع", صحفي فقير يقرر قضاء ليلة في مخزن تماثيل الشمع, ليتربح من بيع قصه عنه لإحدى الصحف, ولكن شيء غريب يحدث.
الكاتب "الفريد بوراج (1889-1956)", بريطاني اشتهر بكتابة أدب الرعب, والأدب الخيالي للأطفال. أكثر من منسي الآن.

Tres historias cortas, de entre 15 y 20 minutos cada una, narradas en inglés británico. Es un nivel muy básico de inglés. Al tratarse de historias cortas, fáciles y de suspense, se hacen entretenidas y es posible escucharlas sin agotarse, lo que es muy conveniente para principiantes.

Final Review:
Enjoyable little stories. I liked the last one the best. The gimmick of the first one not having an ending irked me. I thought the princess would throw her lover to the tiger, over the prospect of someone else marrying him. I would have liked to see that ending. But it was just an open-ended concoct-your-own-ending story.

5. This book was really interesting!! 3 short stories are in this book,so I didn't get tired to read. My favorite story is "The Lady or the Tiger?" All stories are suspense, I like suspense story and the end of each stories I have to guess continuations.

I like the first story about the king who gives punishment to the wrongdoers. I like the ending because it has no ending it tells you to think what will happen at the end.
I will recommend this book to people who likes interesting ending where you have to figure out the ending.

3 histoires courtes agréables à lire et sans prétention. Ideal pour ceux qui comme moi ne se sont pas replongés dans la langue de shakespeare depuis longtemps.
