Picked this book up by accident 10 years ago and when I started reading the first chapter I couldn't put it down. It's a war story, bittersweet and very very heart-breaking. I picked it up on a weekend and read it through quickly. The story is a about a jewish girl who survives the holocaust in hiding whereas her sister suffers through the camps and needless to say, horrible things happen. Mostly, its a drama between people in hiding in cooped up places. Maybe an adult version of Anne Frank but it was entertaining.
