The title of this book is somewhat deceptive: I was under the impression it would be jam packed with ways to learn faster and remember more, but it ended up being more of an overview of brain chemistry and biology. While there are a few points on how you can develop your brain power, they were few and far between. Overall, this is a decent book on how the brain works throughout life.

Nespēju atturēties no salīdzināšanas ar jaunāka izdošanas gada grāmatu - "Why We Sleep" a. Matthew Walker. Liela daļa no abās grāmatās iekļautās informācijas ir līdzīga. Kafijas ietekme, miega nepieciešamība un tā stadijas, smadzeņu darbības izmaiņas līdz ar vecumu, u.c. Atkārtošana ir zināsanu māte. Ar piebldi, ka jaunāka zinātniskā literatūra vienmēr būs akurātāka.

"Apgūsti ātrāk, atceries vairāk" literārā darba teksts ir sadalīts 3 lielās nodaļās - nepilngadīgie, jaunie pieaugušie un pieaugušie seniori -, kas ir iedalītas vairakās apakšnodaļās. David Gamon y Bragdon rescatan los aspectos generales de la memoria y el aprendizaje desde el vientre materno hasta la vejez, la información en el libro está muy generalizada, llena de referencias a experimentos que si bien nos indican un indicio hipotético no asegura que lo planteado sea así, sin embargo , es comprensible puesto que la neurociencia se encuentra en su etapa más prematura y es difícil realizar pruebas en humanos sin que se afecte al individuo, por el resto se clasifica de buena manera los tipos de memoria y como esta funciona, además tiene un buen capítulo de los alimentos y sustancias que potencian nuestra memoria y aprendizaje lo cual es bastante útil, además derriba diversos mitos que existen como el de que el cerebro deja de producir neuronas a cierta edad y nos explica cómo aumentar la producción de estas por medio del ejercicio físico.

Estos autores tambien trabajan el tema de la "gimnasia cerebral" , solo que ellos no la patentaron como la autora mexicana. Es le típico libro de ayuda con ejemplos (muchos de los cuales su servida ya practica, je je je) pero que definitivamente sí motiva a seguilros o a ponerlos en práctica. Y se trata en muchos casos de las cosas más fáciles que hay. Sería un muy buen libro de texto para trabajar en equipo o en algún grupo de estudio donde, al mismo tiempo que los participantes discuten las estrategias, trabajan individualemtne y pueden controlarse mutuamente, aclarando dudas y divirtiéndose mucho. Si a alguen le interesa trabajar y mejorar las habilidades de aprendizaje, así como desarrollar estrategias para eficientar el mismo, adelante, definitivamente este es un buen comienzo. y si quieren formar un grupo de estudio, yo con mucho gusto le entro ... hay que divertirse mucho aprendiendo.
