This is a cute, humorous story that weaves life lessons in the plot. The author does a great job of laying out events and consequences in ways that the audience can process and understand them. They are there but don't overtake the story itself. We've read other books about making mistakes, but our daughter immediately saw the lesson with this story.

A really well-written book for young listeners. My 5 yr old loves these. They are great read-alouds for bedtime. Abby and her younger sister are pet sitters. Abby loves animals and since their apartment building doesn't allow pets, pet-sitting for others is her solution to the problem. The books talk about consequences of children's actions and how to make up with siblings without getting preachy. Great introduction to chapter-book read-alouds.

This seems to be the start of a great series, also perfect for a nighttime read aloud. The two sisters live in an apartment that doesn't allow pets so they try to start a pet sitting business. The themes are sibling relationships, responsibility, and valuing the uniqueness of each individual. This is written really well.

My 5 yr old seemed to really enjoy reading this one with me. She laughed out loud at parts. I liked that it opened up conversations about how we should/should not treat our siblings, and how we should make an effort to right our wrongs.
