Eiichiro Oda (尾田栄一郎, Oda Eiichirō) is a Japanese manga artist, best known as the creator of the manga and anime One Piece.

As a child, Oda was inspired by Akira Toriyama's works and aspired to become a manga artist. He recalls that his interest in pirates was probably sparked by the popular TV animation series titled Vicky the Viking. He submitted a character named Pandaman for Yudetamago's classic wrestling manga Kinnikuman. Pandaman was not only used in a chapter of the manga but would later return as a recurring cameo character in Oda's own works.

The race against the clock continues with this latest volume as Crocodile continues his search for the secret destructive weapon. Meanwhile, the rest of the gang is out hunting for the hidden location of the bomb that will take down the entire kingdom. The highlight of this volume has to be in Luffy's return and it's nothing short of insane and hilarious! The volume ends on a cliffhanger with two Baroque members entering the picture. This franchise story-arc is slowly coming to an end and things are getting more and more exciting!

"This hole looks crocodile-ish"

PLEASE LUFFY 🤣🤣 i laughed harder that i should!! but the countdown was actually pretty good to build up the issue that they and the whole albasta are only seconds away from blowing up. of course the comedy wouldn't be gone just because of that!

but luffy and mr. crocodile's fight?? *chef's kiss*. this is so freaking good!!i'm now even more convinced to watch the anime because the fight scenes must have been so good!!

No one until now has managed to keep Luffy down even once, and Crocodile goes and does it twice. The first great example of the main character's insane determination, willpower, and endurance. Even Crocodile is stumped: he could have easily taken one more round if only he'd kept his cool, but he let it get into his head and went to a physical brawl and suddenly it starts to look a lot worse for him. But he might still win, I'm not saying anything, no spoilers.

Did you know there's a pretty popular theory that Crocodile is in fact Luffy's mother? Crazy, right?

Even with all the henchmen down, the stakes just keep getting higher. Most other stories would have called it a day by now. Let Crocodile go down the second round. But Oda had more things to say. A bomb to drop. Literally.

More of the same again. Lots of action, fighting and looking for bombs. And the intriguing introduction of another agent but I'm desperate for some wrapping up of events by this point.

This volume starts off with Chapter 196: 1

The Arabasta Arc is getting close to being over, but in the meantime the King's special Gaurd the Duck Claw Squad are willing to go to their death's protecting the Royal Family. This to me seemed to be a horrible piece of tragic irony, and goes to show how cowardly Crocodile really is.
While on the other side of the city, Mr. 1 & Zoro's battle is coming to a conclusion. This battle gave Zoro wonderful character growth, and has endeared himself to me more. Why can't he be a real person? T_T

I'll write more when my editing mode hits.
Happy Readings!

One Piece, Vol. 22 continues where the previous tankōbon left off and contains the next ten chapters (196–205) of the on-going manga series.

This tankōbon continues the Arabasta Arc. Despite his agents' defeats, Crocodile is still confident that his plans to take over the kingdom are nearing fruition. With Arabasta embroiled in a civil war of his own design, Crocodile needs only to destroy both warring parties in one fell swoop to take control of the country.

Knowing that a canon is the most practical way of fulfilling this purpose he sets to put this plan into motion, while Nefertari Vivi and the Straw Hat Pirates try to find its hiding place before it is too late. Meanwhile, Crocodile searches for Pluton, forcing King Cobra to lead him and Nico Robin to an ancient stone called a Ponegliff underneath the castle.

However, when Nico Robin says the Ponegliff has no information on the Plulton, Crocodile tries to kill her and escape before his cannon is fired. Meanwhile, Monkey D. Luffy, having recovered and learned from their previous encounter, engages Crocodile in battle.

This tankōbon is written and illustrated by Eiichirō Oda. For the most part, it is written and illustrated rather well. The narrative continues the Arabasta Arc as it is nearing the end. Crocodile's compatriots may have been defeated, but his plans of taking over Arabasta have a good chance of working. The Straw Pirates plans to stop Crocodile with Monkey D. Luffy recovered to fight Crocodile once again.

All in all, One Piece, Vol. 22 is a wonderful continuation to a series that seems really intriguing and I can't wait to read more.

ALABASTA ARC - PART 5
1. chaka is batman confirmed?

2. BAROQUE WORKS WHEN I CATCH YOU BAROQUE WORKS WHEN I CATCH YOU BAROQUE WORKS WHEN I CATCH YOU

3. luffy's friendship is probably the most healing one you can have. how many people has he given trust back? confidence? love?
on the other hand - he is such an annoying enemy, because he doesn't take shit serious and has time to be himself, and that pisses a lot of opponents off, because - well, they WANT to be seen as a threat, and not being taken seriously is a huge hurt to their ego and their pride

4. luffy using blood instead of water. brilliant.

5. whenever sir crocodile says "this is the end" - cue 'skyfall' by adele

ok, one of the things I think is the reason why I love alabasta so much is that it's the first one piece arc where Oda isn't forgiving to ANYONE. luffy battles crocodile the first time and LOSES. sanji and zoro fight people who are essentially their equals and barely win. usopp and chopper fight the lowest ranks of the group and are left barely standing after getting blown up several times. nami (who in most other arcs is left mostly unharmed) is left limping and bloody. what's most gutwrenching is that kouza can't even stop his own troops from advancing despite knowing the truth. vivi, who's only known peace in her kingdom returns to it completely wartorn and in bloodshed, ignored by her people and underestimated by her father. robin gets her sense of purpose completely turned upside down by a boy who's gonna save her life (again) in a few weeks.

he's relentless in alabasta. despite it all, the straw hats are there, acting as the foundation for those in need, as they will go on to do time and time again for others. this is just the beginning.
