I gave this book a 4.5-4.75 🌟
This is book 2 in The Takes of Obsedea and it is fantastic, I honestly loved it!
I loved the character-building, world-building, and sheer ability of the author to make you feel like you are present in the story as he uses such impressive details.
Join Atreus on his adventure to find out about the ancient relic left to him and his parents' murder as he travels in a carriage with a strange old man..... and oh yes.....it's good!
A short well well-written terrifying chilling, detailed, and graphic dark fantasy tale!

Wow another great read. Just like book one this book didn’t disappoint. This is another short and dark read for the spooky season. I enjoyed the world and characters this author has created.

Ryan Deckard - Passengers
5 ⭐️
This was book 2 in the Tales of Obsedea and I loved it!
Atreus receives a disturbing late night visit from his father who leaves him an ancient relic to keep safe. When he goes home for dinner he finds his parents have been murdered.
He sets out to travel to the capital of the kingdom to work out what happened and who done it. On his journey he steps into a carriage with a strange old man and an eventful trip, encountering some wicked favourites from the first book.
I love the characters of Atreus and I am so intrigued hearing more about the witch and the different legends regarding her and the White Rider.
The author creates a spellbinding world that is full of imagery so great that you really feel like you are there. Given that it's a shorter novel (although bigger than the first, yay!) it's tremendously impressive how much character building, world building and so much tension! I could have done without feeling like I was actually Atreus at some point... the terrifying and chilling bits for instance.
I cannot wait for the 3rd book to come out...hopefully this year?!? I hope we hear more about the wolf and I will always be excited to see more of Ember.

The long awaited sequel is here 😈
This was absolutely fantastically done. This is a dark fantasy tale that explores the themes of self-discovery, bravery, and courage. It is a tale that blends horror and fantasy to a brilliant degree.
In an excellent portrayal, readers are destined to follow a character with a terrible streak of being bullied. I think for many "underdogs" out there, this is a story that rings true to so many degrees - we can either continue to be pushed around or we can stand up for what we believe in. Anyone can take a lesson out of this story.
Just like the first book, I devoured this one and was mad it was over. Deckard leaves us on a mighty cliffhanger of so many "what ifs" and it's beautifully maddening (I'm a sucker for a proper cliffhanger. It keeps me thinking LONG after the book has finished).
I will (im)patiently await for the third installment to this world. Well done, Deckard. This was well worth the wait!

This is a quick but dark read, and not my typical choice of book, but I’m thrilled the author shared his book with me, because I enjoyed this one even more than the first! Atreus comes home to find his parents have been brutally killed, disturbed, and confused, he is on a mission to find out more about why this happened.
In the world of Obsedea, some of the stories and tales that were told to children are becoming reality and Atreus needs to quickly figure out how to navigate through this information.
Passengers is the second installment in the Tales of Obsedea series, you don’t have to read first one, The Witch and the Wish, to enjoy this one, but you would enjoy it more! I’m looking forward to the next book, especially if he takes my advice and leaves some of the grosser things out! 😁

A Must Read Dark Fairy Tale 🖤
A delightfully dark fairy tale. It is a good size novella, that can be read in a day or two. I was continually surprised by what happened next!
It is extremely well written with shockingly gruesome parts! The descriptions are superbly poetic and truly add something special to the unpredictable plot of the story.
The ending suggests there might be more to come. I would like that very much, as I’m hooked on this series! It’s a 5/5 read for me. I could see this as a classic someday. 🤩

Atreus has been given the responsibility that's caused his parents' deaths. I enjoyed hearing an update of Jacob from book 1 at the bar in this! And the descriptions of his passengers mate were...pungent. Again, I don't want to say much but I highly enjoyed learning more of the history and lore from the world Atreus' world comes from. Talking animals and betrayal of mass proportions, oh my!

I liked this book more than the first one. Can be a standalone but it does mention things from the first book to help tie the stories together 😍 a good quick novella on a rainy daytime start off spooky season.

Book 2 of the series and definitely better than the first book. It is still a bit dark for my reading taste but I’m glad I gave it a try! It kept me on my toes and I wanted to keep reading and couldn’t put it down.

Passengers is a lot darker and violent as compared to The Witch & The Wish, which I absolutely loved! There is also more character building and action, alongside the same great storytelling as book 1. It’s relatively short and can be finished in 1 sitting. Recommended!

Ryan Deckard has done it again! Once more, I was hooked right from the beginning. PASSENGERS takes readers into the same dark fairytale world as The Witch and the Wish, Book 1 in the Tales from Obsedea. The author weaves world-building details, vivid imagery, and tension onto every page with masterful strokes. From the moment I met the main character, Atreus, I was already fearing what lay in wait for him. The reason for that lies in the intriguing prologue that sets the stage for the main Acts of the story. Every character stands out with unique descriptions and speech, adding an extra layer of depth and richness to the story. There's one character, the raven, that's written grotesquely well that it creeped me out.
If you love a story with lots of intrigue, dark fairytale vibes, magic and mystery, then give this book a read!

This is the second book of the Tales of Obsedea. It's a fascinating novella that more than compliments the first book. I thoroughly enjoyed the imaginative world and character building of the series. The main character is known to be bullied and has to overcome tragedy and obstacles of life. It is a good read for any age group.
