This book touches me on so many levels. You can not belive what my analytical brain can accomplish to ppreciate a seemingly simple kids' story of a duck and her adopted child yet this book has deep meanings. See thru my eyes and you too can be pleasantly surprised at what you can find. In a twist on the Ugly Duckling story, a mother duck, who never has known the joy of giving birth, has adopted an egg that's hard to crack and is the cause of much unpleasant banter from the other waterfowl riffraff. Yet the stuff stops when she hatches a lizard creature, almost akin to a baby dinosaur. The duck then shows the babby dino the fine arts of swimming and having fun in the waters...of Loch Ness! Yep, a duckie has shown Nessie Herself how it's done! Read this, please, everybody, and see what I see!
