I love everything about this commuter book. The onomatopoeiac rhyming text, the cute illustrations, the wide variety of transportation and careers depicted. We will be adding this to our home library.

The pictures in this book were beautiful and full of details. I loved the language used in the story. Lots of onomatopoeia such as "whizzing," "clickety," and "clack."

Rhyming text describes the hustle and bustle of people's commutes to work, whether by bus or train, boat or plane. There is a lull afterward as people are at their jobs: building construction, teaching aerobics, delivering mail, answering phones. Then the afternoon commute begins, "traffic creeping homeward bound" until "moms and dads are home at last," reunited with family. Busy, colorful illustrations provide plenty of detail to pore over but also emphasize the big-city hubbub of workaday travel.

Lots of visual details for preschooler to observe. Some rhythm of the text tripped me up a little bit.
