Drunvalo is the author of four books including The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life, Volumes I & II, Living in the Heart and his newest one, Serpent of Light. These books have been published in 29 languages and reach out to over one hundred countries throughout the world. He has been on television and the internet, and written about in magazines, newspapers and books all over the world. Having left the United States over 280 times, Drunvalo is a world traveler helping people understand their intimate connection to God. Drunvalo is the first person in the world (in modern times) to mathematically and geometrically define the human body light body called in ancient times the Mer-Ka-Ba. Drunvalo graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in fine arts. He also has a minor in physics and math with only one quarter to finish his degree. He lives in Sedona, Arizona with his loving wife Claudette. He has six grandchildren.
Melchizedek is onto something. That cannot be doubted. I am sure he is a genuine warm and good soul. That said, I believe he is also very confused. The concepts of ancient aliens and the structure of the universe could be true. I have no evidence disproving these things, but the writer makes very bold claims with no foundation other than that it has been revealed to him.
I believe Melchizedek is in touch with his deeper self, but I also believe he projects a lot of his personal belief on this deeper self. One only has to read the works of Carl Jung and Joseph Campbell to understand the inner workings of man. They can be incredibly deep, but because of the depth there is always a loss in translation and a colouring of the subjective experience by the person translating the deeper experiences.
I have given this book a chance. I was fascinated at first, but I found the book derailed into many, many topics without any structure or foundation to it. I started speed reading and skimming over after a while. This book is one big contradiction. The writer claims we are all one, something I subscribe to, but then goes on about higher selves and personal awareness across levels of conciousness and diemnsions. He also falls into the trap how the world is coming to an end soon if we don't change the way we act and the time to act must be now.
His doom predictions have passed and gone and the message still stands with his audience. While again, there is some truth to it, this book is boiling down to dogma. Speaking to the converted is like speaking to any other deeply religious person. You cannot argue past the dogmatic thinking.
Preacher Melchizedek has a few wise words and insights, but colours his sermons with confused and single minded thinking.
This book is out there. Drunvalo tells you everything, the secrets of the past and the future for only $25 US. He describes in full detail what will happen when we move into the fourth dimension. He explains why an ancient race of aliens mined for gold in Africa and created humans as slaves (to fix their atmosphere duh!). He even says where AIDS comes from. He talks about Egypt, sacred geometry, indigo children, you name it. All this and more from a Berkley dropout.
Honestly it was a fun read. Come on, like this is any better than reading The Post.
It took me years to finally read this book, it has crossed my path many times in this life, yet every time it came into my life I would have a deep aversion to it.
But a few years ago while working at Erewhon the book was floating around my peripheral and then a year or so late my friend Christine mentioned I should read it because of what it said about dolphins. And I was still hesitant, but I kept remembering the way she spoke of the dolphins, much like Douglas Adams does in the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy 5 book Trilogy:)
Then another couple of years went by and I had a sacred geometry moment, actually I was signed up for an art class that discussed sacred geometry and I noticed in one of the books the same symbol on the front of this book, and then something inside of me made sense, it was very strange. So I ordered the book, received it and put it on a shelf:) the class was cancelled and I forgot about it again.
Holiday season 2013 and we are getting ready to fly to Pennsylvania to celebrate the holidays with our nephews and I cannot decide what to read on the plane. So the night before I picked out 7 books that 'felt' like they were right, but I could not narrow them down, so I decided to try a little trick I used to do as a kid. I put the books user my pillow for the night before our flight and the in the morning I would know which ones to take. I woke up and two books were on my mind the Tao Te Ching (the Skylight Illuminations edition) and The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life... And so it goes...
In the beginning of the book the author suggests not to allow yourself to just take the book as a reality, which I also really liked. It is rare that someone offers a highly alternative idea on the history of humankind without stating, this is the way it REALLY is; this was a refreshing start.
I am not going to get into what this book is all about because it seems to me that it is probably very different for each person who reads it and if a person were to read it more than once, I am sure it would mean something different each time.
I will say this, if you are meant to read this book it will find you and you will know when it is time:)
These books took me on a Spiritual rollercoaster. So many things are revealed in this book that left me wanting to know more. There are times when the book is very complex; but Drunvalo keeps you in understanding. He doesn't try and confuse the reader, he speaks in terms where another can understand.
If one is willing to truly open their mind, accepting the fact "anything is possible", I recommend this book. Never have I read something that made me feel so full of light.
This book isn't for everyone. I'd say that for this book to resonate, you would have spent years wondering about esoteric, mystical concepts. You'd also have already been doing much inner work...cryptic, yes, but you'll know what I mean if you've been on this journey. It will only make sense to individuals whose time it is to pick up the book of their own accord, because they are true seekers of the truth. In my opinion this book is a real eye opener and definitely clarified a lot of the lost ancient knowledge for me. Great read!
Update 2016: I read this book when I was in the valley of being atheist and religious. Knowing what I do know, especially about the esoteric New Age movement I would advise people to take this with a grain of salt. This book makes wild and very poor supported claims, lots of pseudo science and misinformation.
Original Review Summer, 2014: This is a tricky book, of which I have yet to finish. My main purpose of reading this was simply to learn more about sacred geometry, the Mer-Ka-Ba, and Kundalini meditation in a very subjective, informational, and historical point of view. I wasn't completely satisfied, I guess I shouldn't write a review out too early, but this time I will.
I have very good reason to believe this man is crazy. In his book he openly confessed he dropped out of college, moved into the mountains and spent a lot of time by himself, meditating and having visions.
This book requires a certain amount of skill to skew through a LOT of bullshit to get the messages and concepts. At the first chapter, in a section titled "A High Inclusive Reality", he wrote about a woman named Mary Ann Schinfield, and when I googled her, no one existed with this name, and the only person who supposedly knows about her is the Author, in this book. From that point on, it was incredible hard for me to continue reading this book with openness and receptiveness, when I understood that the author had openly lied to me just (literally) seven pages into the book....
If you are blinded by inaccuracies, overzealousness, unsophisticated word-choice, and many exclamation marks, to at least accept a concept or two, then this isn't your read. Throughout the little I've read, I was cringing with his bold claims, bad sentence structures, and inaccuracies. For instance in the book, when describing the birth and death of stars he said (quote):
"They start out as hydrogen suns...[there is no such thing as a hydrogen sun]... At the end of its life, as far as we know, there are two primary things a star can do… One it can explode and become a supernova, a huge hydrogen cloud that becomes the womb for hundreds of new baby stars. Two, it can rapidly expand into what’s called a red giant, a huge explosion that engulfs all its planets—burns them up and destroys the whole system, then stays expanded for a long time. Then slowly it will collapse into a tiny old star called white dwarf”
When a star dies they will either explode in a violent supernova, leaving behind a neutron star or black hole. Or they will swell into red gaseous giants, eventually shedding their outer layers into a ring known as a planetary nebula (early observers thought the nebulae resembled planets such as Neptune and Uranus). The >>core<< that is left behind will be a white dwarf, a husk of a star in which no hydrogen fusion occurs.
I think the author is definitely on to something when he writes that civilization is older than we think, we have powers that are beyond our memory and we might have been more advanced back then than what we give ourselves credit, but the mention of UFO and weird visions from an Egyptian god, makes it impossible for me to take his self-made theories seriously.
Nevertheless, my best advice is for any soul out there making a spiritual-journey is to read this book cautiously: do not dismiss everything, at the same time do not accept everything. The wisdom from madmen is tricky to grasp from.
And lastly, if you’re finding yourself in the same logical pickle I’m finding myself in, remember this: the most brilliant mathematic scientific and philosophical concepts, were reborn from the minds of crazy people: Gregor Mendel with genetics, George Zweig with Quark Theory, Ernest Rutherford with the nucleus of an atom, Beethoven and his music, just to name a few. Most of these men were considered crazy stupid pseudo-scientists, rejected by the scientific community. They spent a lot of time talking/being with themselves, and even came up with crazy explanations of how they discovered their work. Some, like Pythagoras, said he discovered pythagorean theorem by the gods and he had killed hundreds of oxen to celebrate his findings. Gregor Mendel flunked out of school and eventually dropped out of school to become a missionary, but said his scientific discoveries (that were centuries ahead of his time) were given to him by mystical angels and Jesus Christ. Giordano Bruno explained to scholars and the scientific consensus that other planetary systems existed, by preaching about his weird psychedelic visions and dreams of traveling through space and time, and seeing solar systems and other stars. The list goes on.
I first read "Nothing in this Book is True" (Bob Frisell) and then started the Flower fo Life books. It is funny how you can read and think this is a lot of BS but then you connect the dots and think maybe it has some substance after all. I must have repeated this line of thinking several times throughout these books but enjoyed every bit of it. One thing is for sure, the Flower of Life is incredible and are found on some of the oldest stone tablets around the pyramids. DiVinci used the Flower of Life design for some of his inventions (helicopter) & many of his artworks. The merkaba is very powerful. The Dogons & the Dolphin birthings are 2 things that are incredible & inspiring. One thing I took away from this book is that we know little about the inter-workings of the Universe but the possibilities really open the mind to know that it is way larger than I could imagine - but I am trying... About the only jewelry I ever wear is a Flower of Life necklace. If you ever sit and draw the Flower of Life, you will gain a better understanding and love for this beautiful design that contains everything in the universe.
In short: i thought that it was a load of tosh. Someone gave me their book to read because they were really 'into' it and conspiracy theories. I couldn't wait to give it back.
This is one of the most dangerous kind of books in which the author claims to know everything about Earth and it past through channeling from some ridiculously-named "higher being". It provides many information, some of which may be true, but everything is written in a twisted, populistic way that lusts for sensation and leaves the most important information about the evolution of mankind like the true meaning of the coming of Christ and the Earth's history as a whole. If you really want to know something about yourself and this world and, most importantly, work on yourself to be a true human being, buy any books written buy Rudolf Steiner (for example his Occult Science), or any other anthroposophic publication, and forget this one.
Interesting subject, but unfortunately the writings of Drunvalo are rather unconvincing to me. The things he writes about are for the most part entirely non-verifiable and of no practical use whatsoever (as is a lot of the information in books of this genre, I agree). What's more, some of the claims he makes are very hard to believe even for me (and I'm pretty open minded). For example, the part where he says that there is a gigantic flying saucer under the Great Pyramid which supposedly rose up in 1989, being commanded by a 23-year old woman (?). Allegedly the circumference of the saucer is at least the same as the pyramid's, so I would think that at least some one would have noticed. Considering also the fact that I have wanted to buy this book since it was first published about 20 years ago, you could say I am quite disappointed. But maybe the second volume is better in explaining 'the ancient secret'. I may buy it some day simply to supplement the first volume.
I forget who suggested this book to me, but it definitely wasn't up my alley. While I do enjoy spiritual works, this came across as far more of a wild-eyed conspiracy theory that just made it very hard to take seriously. The author makes a lot of claims about a lot of different fields, but it's hard to know if it should be taken at face value because I was able to discern some factual inaccuracies even on the simpler stuff I do know something about (like the differences between viruses and bacteria and what causes cancer). That doesn't leave me much confidence in the rest of the author's knowledge.
I'm not going to try to deny the author's experiences, but in publishing a work it is usually a good idea to try to present your ideas in a way that can be easily followed and understood. Not only was there scant evidence for a lot of outrageous claims, the narrative skipped all over the place with the author introducing the reader to a subject and then telling the reader it would be covered in more detail later instead of addressing it right away.
And this is only volume one. For someone claiming to want to give spiritual information to a ready world, breaking something like this into multiple volumes that are priced higher than the average Kindle book seems like just a ploy to gain more money. As much of a completionist as I am, I do not feel compelled to finish this work by spending more money or time on a second volume.
It is definitely captivating, but the fact people take it to be true is the reason I gave it 1 star. The author is a devout Muslim and I feel it is his attempt to indoctrinate gullible souls. If you want to discuss sacred geometry, great! Just don't throw ridiculous religious stories into the mix that have absolutely no merit.
The first time I read this book in 2014 it changed my life. That was in preparation for taking the Illuminating The Awakened Heart Workshop. The process that these things began has lasted up to this day, the main focus being to live each day in the heart, always striving to achieve this to a higher degree.
Understanding what the heart is and means is a long process for most these days, even though it is innate knowledge we are all born with. Funny enough, this book (Drunvalo's first yet still most foundational) barely even mentions the heart, it is only with his third book, 'Living in The Heart' that the core of his teachings are realised.
I won't say that everyone should read these books, since this knowledge is available in an infinite amount of forms including every set of indigenous teachings throughout the world, but for those coming from a western mindset it might be one of the most graspable forms to approach.
Certainly, since Drunvalo put together this set of knowledge and started teaching it, it has worked its way into knowledge systems and culture in ways that almost nobody is aware of; to the point that the main data comprising the second half of TASotFOL seems much less revolutionary than it must have 20 or more years ago. That does not diminish its value, but makes it perhaps easier to understand today.
The first half of the book contains stories about alternative history, making references to Sitchin's Sumerian tablets and other such sources. Many are open to this narrative, but for those who aren't it is possible to skip to the chapters that begin on sacred geometry.
Sacred geometry is indeed the biggest gift of this book and is essential knowledge that should be tought in all kindergartens along with the alphabet. As Drunvalo says, it is the foundation of mathematics, music, nature, and indeed everything in existence. Through it we truly begin to see the beauty and interconnectedness of life that surrounds us. This for me is the link of this first book with the heart, for the more we love all as perfected beauty, the easier it becomes to live in the heart.
One star is pretty harsh but in my personal rating system it means, I didn't finish the book.
Maybe I will someday... But I have to say I was disappointed. I have an open mind-- I've been building sacred geometry orgone producing structures, for go(o)d's sake. In fact this is why I read this book-- so many people told me I should check it out after experiencing my Merkaba.
To be generous, this is the sort of book you read and can hope to get some sort of profound energetic communication that helps elevate your vibration. If I finish it it will be for this sort of potential benefit.
To be miserly, this book claims to be half scientific and half mystical. The science half sucks. The mystical half is way out there, basically all channeled material. Now, I like channeled material, but this lacks the =intelligence= I sense when exposed to other channeled material like Seth or Abraham.
The subject matter the book attempts to cover is quite exciting. However, I crave more science, more thoroughness, and less gaps between what information is here. There is not enough interconnectedness between ideas, and I am left asking tons of questions in the margins of the pages. I suppose such a feat would be difficult to do in one or two volumes which the author admittedly attempts.
I do believe that this is a nice introduction that supplies some very good clues and jumping off points for anyone seeking more information about the flower of life and ideas connected to it. Any serious seeker will have questions and seek out the answers for his or herself. This is a suggestion while reading this book. Take what you can and explore further. Not all of the answers are here, nor are they necessarily correct.
First-and-foremost, I recommend reading this book with an open-mind and let go of any tendencies to search for, interpret, favor, and recall information in a way that confirms one’s preexisting beliefs or hypotheses (confirmation bias).
This book is definitely the first step in the direction for those seeking to take their consciousness to higher levels. In other words, I’m referring to evolving as a human being by reconnecting with our ancient past to the multidimensional-being aspect that humans truly are. Yes, we have psyche abilities too include multidimensional traveling among other things via the human pineal gland, of course, once you cut fluoride out of your life for starters. If you seek to keep your intellect stagnate or if you’re not seeking to expand your mentality outside your indoctrinated belief system then you may want to pass on this book, it may seem very bizarre and strange to you.
If you’re a lover of the ancient past especially of Egyptian & Sumerian civilizations, the fall of Atlantis, the ancient Lemurians, left and right brain realities, the author of the Emerald Tablets – Thoth, the human Mer-Ka-Ba energy fields, Leonardo da Vinci, scared geometry, even a little bit on our suppose creators the biblical Annunaki/Nefilim, and much more then you will really enjoy this book. Drunvalo does a superb job breaking down scared geometry to an easy and understandable process. My left brain (the logical aspect) had a little trouble absorbing the mathematical concepts in scared geometry due to my right brain (emotional aspect) being very dominant in my personality but as stated, Drunvalo does a superb job explaining the concepts of this ancient knowledge. Upon reading this first volume you will truly see and feel the universal oneness of how we are all connected to each other, plants, animals, and to the entire galaxy via geometry, scared to be precise.
As someone who is into Egyptian mythology and evolution, the first few parts of the book describing the higher levels of consciousness humans sounded very intriguing though not completely believable. The book does get sci-fi in the middle with the fact that the author mentioned he met Thoth and he has been living for 50,000 years. I remember reading Sapiens and how Harari narrated as humans got stronger with their cognitive strength, their ability to come up with imaginary and unreal events rose. Many of the facts mentioned in the book don't have an evidence backing. If you're into spirituality and consciousness, this book would intrigue you in those parts.
Disclaimer: maybe I am not enlightened enough, not ready, not open, not intelligent enough to understand this book.
But bloody hell it was a struggle.
I am extraordinarily open minded... human dolphin hybrids? Brilliant. Women working for NASA who can remote travel. I’m in. Yet here we are 30 years later and not one shred of evidence or literature or support on the big old internet (or anywhere else for that matter). Perhaps these stories are ‘metaphors’ and I missed the point entirely.
Unfortunately those were the interesting bits that I got on board with. The rest was description after description about geometry and how it makes up our world. Mathematics is commonly known as the universal language... so I was unsure why all these discoveries were so revolutionary?
Also, the book jumped from idea to idea with seemingly no connection. I’m sure this is my ‘left brain’ talking and I needed to be more free and go with the flow?
I wanted to love it. I read it all the way to the end waiting for something to resonate with me. Even if it was little. The author has dedicated his life to this work and I don’t want to jump in being a negative Nellie.... but this book did my head in with lack of structure, made up anecdotes with no substance and half of it dedicated to math that the ‘layperson’ might not quite understand.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
As someone with a penchant for woo, the first few chapters of this book had me pretty intrigued. I love reading about different people's take on Atlantis and the lore and channeled information that has come forward over the years. But this book rather quickly turned into a convoluted mess. The author put a bad taste in my mouth early on as he regaled the reader with the time he snuck into a protected Egyptian monument that he was not allowed to step foot in, seemingly bragging about his entitled curiousity.
The author touches on some long standing questions regarding the actual age of the Sphinx, the synchronicities of various symbols showing up cross culturally from ages ago and worries (correctly) about the future of the planet should we not address issues like climate change. But beyond this, nothing made ANY kind of sense to me. He tries (and fails, I think) to compel the reader by pointing out how crucial sacred geometry with respect to consciousness and the nature of reality but I just...I got nothing from it.
There was an awful lot of "trust me, bro, this is REAL," from start to finish as well which left me side eyeing the majority of what I was reading. Glad I gave it a shot (it came really highly recommended) but this was definitely not for me.
Dentro dessa percepção eu formulei a seguinte conclusão: Se o universo não julga e a Fonte é puro amor, então é Lucifer quem aplica a lei do karma.
When I´m honest I have to admit I don´t understand everything Drunvalo writes about Sacred Geometry. I´m not a genius at mathematics and I had to struggle to comprehend some of his hypothesis, explanations and theories. Nonetheless it is a very interesting book and surely only appropriate for people who are willing to look beyond their own noses and to accept that there are diffierent views of reality. I can´t say I agree to everything Drunvalo says some of his theories seemed too unbelievable to me but this is apparently his personal sight of reality and who can tell for sure which reality is the right one? Don´t we create all our own realities? It´s an excellent book to expand your mental horizon and you should read it it unprejudiced and with an open mind. It will give you some fascinating insights into hidden dimensions, Sacred Geometry, the MerKaBa, Atlantis, Egypt and much more..
This review gives a little insight into what this book can teach u.
This is a book not recommended for those stuck in mainstream views of the Reality who are unwilling to expand or to embrace new/old interpretations of it. But it certainly will be a delightful, insightful reading for those who intuitively have always known that our sciences, religions, and the official history of our life in this planet, have been twisted, censored, manipulated by the powers that be, or just been partially presented to the general public in order to keep them unaware of its real potential and of what's really been and still is going on in this planet Earth.
I am just finishing it rite now for the third time around. I have dipped into volume 2 and felt I should go back into this one and see what more I could get from it. This time around was the best and I imagine it can only get better and more astonishing each journey through. For knowing so much, Drunvalo has a very humble approach to his outlook with also having a very unique and irresistible pull to the information given here. If anybody wants to even begin to learn about sacred geometry and our ancient past, this is the the book to gently begin to push you further into the quantum leap of your path.
I read this book because I could no longer ignore the strange coincidences that have happened in my life regarding sacred geometry, reading Drunvalo's book made sense and gave me a feeling of 'coming home' - that I wasn't so weird after all, doodling the flower of life and Metatron's cube as a child (without prompting or instruction, and further strange events that are lost on most people. This book gives a glimpse of what we were and will be again. Even taken with a pinch of salt, it resonated with me. I will use the information to springboard me into more research. Thank-you for sharing this information with us Drunvalo.
Im not sure how I can rate this book... Its very complex and talks to your left brain in 90% of its content... Its not ths kind of dreamy-time-read-book... Its even printed in a text book size and style... The information in it is shocking... And yet you feel that you already know it... With all its complexity there is a mix of obviousness in its teaching... If you are one of those people who are intending to ascend to the next level of consiousness... To the next dimension... Then drunvalo puts the corner stone and the basics for you to do so
I couldn't finish this book. I don't necessarily dispute the content of the book, but for me that's not the point. The information is presented very haphazardly. I was driven crazy by the numerous cliffhanger tidbits that were dangled at the end of a section followed by promises of "we'll get back to that later." I felt like the author was working very hard to convince readers of his point of view instead of letting the information speak for itself and letting the reader's intuition accept it or not. A horrible sales job.
Very interesting book. Some in depth insights that I had not read in other books on Sacred Geometry. Especially the very esoteric subtopics in the first half of the book surrounding subtopics tangent to those of Zecharia Sitchin. The second half of the book really sheds light onto the matrix of creation. Fascinating. More and more we can see that there are NO mistakes. All is by design.
I was sufficiently impressed with this one that I ordered Vol. 2.
Don't mistake this material for non-fiction. It is most certainly fantasy/science fiction. Which is fine, but Melchizedek tries to claim the events are true. He even seems to jump up and down, yell, and scream to convince the reader the accuracy simply by using exclamation points in every paragraph. Fun to read, but don't take it too seriously.
