Alexandra Maximov has spent an eternity trapped in a mirror world with no memories of her life before or how she wound up there. Her only solace is the mirrors that let her see into the real world, and her hope to one day be a part of it. But when she opens a mirror belonging to a house full of shifters, her life is turned upside down, and life as she knows it ceases to exist. Join Alec and her men as they fight to free her and the dangers they encounter along the way.
I found the concept of this story really interesting and it just pulled me in. The characters were brilliantly written and I really want to see where this harem goes.
I enjoyed this more than I was expecting to. I really like Alex and her mates. Here's hoping Dyson gets his act together. There's still more mystery to solve, so I'm looking forward to book two.
Paranormal. Rh. 5 shifters. Lost royalty. Mate bond. Trapped. Alexandra has been trapped in what she calls the "Mirror World" for as long as she can remember. She can't remember anything about why's she there either. Everyday she looks into the mirrors and sees other peoples lives but she can never interact. In one of her viewings she has her first interaction in her whole life, and its with a handsome wolf shifter who promises he'll help get her out of the mirror world. This was a very interesting story matter. I haven't ran into a "mirror mirror" situation before. I liked it. You really don't learn much about the characters other than their looks, mannerisms, etc. No background yet. It was mostly setup for the series. I can't wait to learn more about the characters and what's going on with Alexandra.
I preordered this book based on the description a while ago - though I don’t really remember ordering it? Book addiction is real.... anyway, it appeared yesterday and I dove. Overall, this is a unique RH with numerous moments and one hot scene that stands apart from many others that I have read. It also suffers from the ‘first book curse’, becoming bogged with detail and world building overload. Not sure I’ll continue the series, though I do find nestled intrigued over what may happen now.
Pros: - FMC is so innocent it cuts. That alone is unique. - the universe is fresh and inviting, presenting a world we haven’t scene before. - The mirror realm is fascinating - Slow burn
Cons: - Little forced and sometimes rushed - Fated mates - Choppy is places - First book curse with info dumps
Interesting, although 3rd person isn’t my favorite point of view.
Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...
1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.
2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.
3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.
4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.
5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
For me it's easier to forgive errors in a Kindle Unlimited. I purchased this one because I liked the sound of it, and I found at least 7 errors in this book. It brings the rating down to a 2.5.
The idea behind this book is really good. However, I honestly think it's too short. I also have to say that I DNF'd the second book because the plot doesn't carry over well to the second IMO. I found it kind of boring TBH.
Amazing story! I lobe how she builds up to the end. That last minute twist that Dyson speaks of just wow! Didn’t see that coming. This story follows a female MC who who doesn’t know why she is in this mirror world and she finally finds mirrors in a home of shifters who can see her as well. Definite must read.
I would have given this book 5 stars but it could use some extra editing. Otherwise this story was amazing! I've already read it twice and waiting, not at all patiently, for the release of the next book. Keep up the awesome imaginative narration and witty dialogue. I really enjoy your work.
This book is a major "Wow!" With a cliffhanger, Shifters, a lost princess, a mansion with mirrors, and a island with a ruined castle! So good and I want the next book!!
The story was unique and enthralling. This is the only book I have read that involves a world of mirrors. The characters are all well-developed and have distinct personalities. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the large number of grammatical errors I found throughout the story. There were so many run on sentences! I finally started making notes on the ones that drove me crazy. Props for not having any improper use of their, there, or they're.
