Apparently the author is a somewhat famous scientist in Britain. He shows how even the simplest life form has some form of comprehension. From Elephants that hold grudges to plants that trap and eat insects Mr. Ford expands your knowledge of what you think of as everyday

I enjoyed this book, but found some facts incorrect, and felt he jumped around quite a bit. Overall, a fun read filled with many interesting nature tidbits connecting humans to amoebae and everything else inbetween.

Rambles a little, the organization of the book is really random. But it has some good stories.
