He was wrong and he knew it, but he couldn't stop! So again he was... Under Arrest!...finally choosing a life of joy & God's forgiveness. A powerful drama of a man's life told by the man who lived it... an ex-con!
My family has had dozens of Mr. Thatcher's books around the house for years. Mr. Thatcher was a personal friend of my grandparent's for a number of years, and his book is the real deal. He is a perfect example of the work of Christ in someone's life, particularly a grave sinner. He and his wife left this world with few possessions, but exerted all of their energies toward winning lost children and providing them the with love so many of them lacked. A story that sticks out in my mind is one which My grandmother shared with me. Several years ago, my grandfather gave Mr. Thatcher an electric razor as a gift. Mr. Thatcher called them a few hours after leaving their house and apologized, but expressed to them that he'd given the razor to a down and out hitchhiker he'd picked up mere minutes before. That was the type of man he was. Most people today have no idea who he was, but certainly his work for the cause of Christ will remain.
