Although I enjoyed Jade and James trying to navigate the long distant relationship "thing", the story was about 100 pages too long. Why? Too many redundant sex scenes.

Stephen, Jade's devious and sleazy ex-boyfriend, added enough cray-cray to the novel that the "spice" soon became just another unnecessary interruption to the flow of the story.

However, all of the references to Kenya and Maurice's story, now has me reading the second ??? book. Not sure how these books line up, but I wish I had read LET'S GET IT ON first.

What Happens in Vegas

I loved this story. James and Jada met during a time when neither was looking for a committed relationship. They couldn't seem to stay away from each other.

This book was way longer than necessary, mostly because it revolved around a weak conflict. Jade and James meet in Vegas while Jade is trying to seek revenge against an ex who wronged her. Naturally, James also has acrimonious feelings about Jade's ex, Stephen. However, James warns Jade to let go of her bitterness because it isn't healthy. Jade gets huffy. Jade's friend egg on her vindictive behavior. James apologizes. The cycle repeats. For a good portion of the story, I thought Jade was obnoxious, Serena (the key instigator) the stereotypical man-hating friend, and everyone else dull caricatures. Even James, who initially had sense, lost his bleeding mind towards the end and I was wondering were the level-headed James I knew went. Despite being less than impressed with this tale, my curiosity was piqued by the excerpt for Mo and Kenya's story, which preceded James and Jade's story. I'll definitely check out some reviews for it before I dive in.

Betting On Love is DEFINITELY better than the first book in this series...but I MUST admit I find some of the characters main and secondary to be somewhat IMMATURE at times...I just expected more from the cast of characters...especially considering their ages and their professional status...I mean I know we all have DRAMA in our lives sometimes...but some of the scenarios are a bit OVER-THE-TOP, IMHO...however, I'll say AGAIN I find this storyline more ENJOYABLE than Let's Get It On...and the passion between Jade and James is extremely HOT & SPICY...that being said I'm still interested in reading the third book in this series just to see what happens with their ever-growing circle of family and friends.

This really a good book the characters are everything you would want in a romance . The Male lead James Goings is sexy , smart with a dirty mind and Jade is the women we all want in a female lead smart, independent , and willing to give our man the James a chance. They were perfect for each other and this was a really sweet story. What I liked the most about this story is the way James defended his women by beating the crap out of Stephen . What I like the least the story had to end.
