این کتاب خلاصه ای است از تاریخ مسیحیت تا حوالی 1998
از این نظر بسیار برای کسی که هیچ نمی داند خوب بود، روایت خوشخوان بود و می دانست که نباید جایی برای شرح بیشتر گیر کند وگرنه کتاب تمام نمی شود. مسیحیت در نظرم خیلی افت کرد، این همه فرقه و این همه تحریف؟ و جنگ و جدل و حتی آیین های عجیب غریب که از مسیحیت بعید بود! با این حال خیلی به مباحث الهیاتی نپرداخته بود. توضیحی در مورد تثلیث و مخصوصا روح القدس نیاورده بود و آباء کلیسا هم در حد اسم توماس و اوکام و اسکوتوس دیده می شد. همچنین در این کتاب خبری از روایات و داستان های کتاب مقدس و انجیل نیست، یا داستان زندگی عیسی و کارها و حرف هایش. در مورد اعیاد هم اشاره کوتاه است. جالب است حالا که می بینم خیلی هم کتاب خوبی بنظر نمی رسد اما من خوشم آمد. برای شروع خوب بود و صفحات تامل برانگیزی در آن موجود بود. این لحظات تامل برانگیز را دوست دارم، گرچه در اکثر موارد نویسنده مشخصا هدفی خاص را از بیان ان دنبال نمیکرده، یا ان نتیجه ای که من میگیرم مدنظرش نبوده. گاد بلس
