Après ma lecture du premier tome, je me suis aussitôt jetée sur la suite. Autant profiter que je l’avais sous la main. Sauf que maintenant je suis frustrée parce que je n’ai pas la suite chez moi et il va falloir que je me la procure, je veux trop savoir comment cette histoire va continuer! C’est toujours un vrai régal en tout cas, j’ai autant apprécié ce second tome que le premier. Je sens que ce manga va vite devenir un de mes préférés!
Dans ce second tome, Chako ment sur sa relation avec Isshin afin de repousser son ex-fiancé. Mais ce mensonge s’ébruite dans le voisinage, les obligeant de continuer à jouer la comédie. Entre émissions télévisées et séjour aux sources thermales, la nouvelle vie des deux faux tourtereaux est bien mouvementée !
Comme je viens de le dire, j’ai adoré cette suite. C’est toujours aussi drôle à lire franchement je me régale. J’aime beaucoup le personnage de Isshin, en apparence c’est quelqu’un de froid et distant mais au final on apprend à le connaître au fur et à mesure et il s’avère qu’au final, c’est quelqu’un de très aimable. Il ne veut que le bien et le bien être de Chako, même si il le montre d’une drôle de façon haha. J’ai adoré la scène aux sources thermales avec le bain privé, je dois avouer que c’était vraiment drôle. Tout comme la scène où Isshin est bourré! J’aime aussi énormément la petite Futaba! Elle me fait trop rire parce que c’est clairement la fan numéro un du couple formé par Chako et Isshin. J’aime trop quand elle les filme en secret ou ce genre de petite chose, c’est tellement drôle et mignon à la fois! Par contre la fin est très intrigante pour le coup!

La Chako intenta convèncer l'Isshin que són un equip preparant dinar i ajudant-lo en tot allò que pot. Arriba la fira i fan el paperot de parella enamoradíssima, però això fa evocar records del passat a la Chako i li agafa una mena d'atac de pànic. L'Isshin la tranquil·litza al cotxe en una escena gens pròpia de la seva actitud fins ara... no sé ben bé com interpretar-la, la veritat. Com a senyal d'agraïment, reben una invitació a un ryokan i, per sort, se'ls cola la Futaba. A la nit acaben bevent i l'Isshin mostra una cara amable del tot sorprenent, cosa que fa caure les calces a la Chako, que cada cop es mostra més captivada per l'homenot. Què vols que et digui? Aquest enamorament tan sobtat i poc coherent a la relació entre tots dos em grinyola. Com li pot agradar quan gairebé sempre la tracta fatal i només quan estan sols o ell begut és amable? Com pot dir que és "cute" aquest comportament????? Si es vol jugar la carta de tsundere, espero que se li trenqui ja la cuirassa, aprengui a comunicar-se i comenci a tractar millor la Chako... A més, no té cap sentit que se'ns presenti la Chako com una noia independent i que està farta de fer el que els homes esperen d'ella i no es reveli contra l'Isshin... Com a cirereta del pastís, ella es desviu per aportar més ingressos amb els regalets de la boda, però li surt el tret per la culata amb el gir final. Pobra noia, tot li surt malament ^^'

Chako takes more of an on hands approach to helping Isshin with the tea farm. They do promotions and go to a festival to promote the farm and it leads to them trending on social media as a "lovey dovey" married couple. As they work together more, Chako develops feelings for Isshin who she realizes has been warming up to her in his own way. I like their budding romance.
Futaba remains adorable!

Amoureux des comédies romantiques, celle-ci n’attend que vous ! Avec son humour, sa tendresse bourrue et son joli décor, elle a tout pour vous faire passer un joli moment.
Bien qu’un peu rapide et superficielle, cette RomCom est des plus charmantes à suivre. L’héroïne bien installée, doit maintenant assumer cette fausse relation et tout ce que cela implique personnellement et professionnellement. Nous la suivons de plus en plus tiraillée de chaque côté dans ce tome.
J’avoue que je m’amuse beaucoup de voir Chako succomber au charme bourru d’Isshin qui cache une grande gentillesse et un vrai amour du travail bien fait. Cela me plaît aussi de voir ce dernier parfois s’adoucir et lui témoigner de manière impromptue de la gentillesse. Il y a vraiment tous les ingrédients de la romance slow burn au boulot entre eux. Le fait qu’ils vivent sous le même toi rajoute à cette jolie tension qui monte et monte, surtout avec le regard inquisiteur de la petite Futaba qui est partout. On enchaîne ainsi les fausses déclarations publiques, les faux voyages en amoureux, mais aussi les vrais moments d’échange autour d’un verre ou sur la plantation et leur lent rapprochement fait plaisir à voir.
Après c’est assez classique et téléphonée. Les scènes n’ont rien d’original et on reconnaît bien des situations déjà vues. C’est surtout la dynamique ennemis to lovers qui est séduisante, de même que la fausse relation + cohabitation forcée, beaucoup de tropes de la romance qui fonctionnent plutôt bien pour moi. Je m’amuse de comprendre qu’Isshin craque pour le côté fonceur et bosseur de Chako. J’aime le voir maladroitement jaloux. Ça me plaît aussi de voir ce que l’immiscion de Futaba dans leur relation provoque, ce petit électron libre est trop mignon et est un révélateur ambulant. Le rapprochement est lent mais certain et permanent.
Il y a aussi la dimension du thé qui prend une jolie coloration ici avec une Chako de plus en plus proactive pour sa plantation, ce qui fait plaisir à voir. J’aime la voir participer à la publicité de son entreprise et ses produits. C’est plaisir d’avoir une héroïne novice mais qui se bouge et ne reste pas sur un échec. Alors oui, elle peut être fatigante à la longue mais elle reste touchante. Elle est maladroite, usante même, mais volontaire. Et ça fait du bien de voir ce qu’on peut faire pour sauver une telle entreprise avec toute cette diversification. Ça donne une vraie teneur à la série et pas juste un décor. On les voit vraiment bosser.
Le mélange boulot, thé, ennemis to lovers et slow burn au sein d’une maison avec une enfant, fonctionne à merveille sur moi. J’aime ces ambiances entre tendresse et humour. Cela m’a vu de voir les héros plus impliqués dans leur plantation ici, tout comme j’ai souri de leur lent rapprochement sur base d’admiration réciproque de leur caractère entreprenant. Classique mais efficace sur moi. Plein de clichés romantiques mais avec une jolie aura.

We get to see more of the forced situations that Chako and Isshin have to face. They had promised Futaba that they will be a happy family, also it helps them with their neighbors. Faking is not easy when audiences ask you to kiss each other in a tea sale event. Then they have to pretend to be a married couple in the tea bath 🛁 spa which uses their tea.
The tea estate is not doing so well so Chako tries to find opportunities for their sale increase. She also does it to save the estate, her fake husband's wish and also her family. She understands Isshin more and his passion for tea making. She comes to know that he becomes happy just seeing someone praising his tea and work. He is a simple man who wants to be like her father who was an exceptional tea farmer. She slowly falls in love with him and unconciously feels gor him and wants to make him happy.
She works very hard to get a contract of making gifts 🎁 for the newly weds families during the wedding photos hoot 📸 in their neighbor's estate. But she is duped by the wedding planner company. How shall they save their fields and livelihood.
This book also gives a peek on the life of tea farmers and how tea grows. How much efforts go into growing tea leaves 🍃 is described which is different for me. I never knew that it takes that much effort to make tea. The dedication and passion has to be saluted. Reading these books makes us value the things we take for granted.

I really like the art and the premise of this manga — fake marriage, there is the 'only one bed' trope and sort of a found family with the male lead and Futaba (the female leads' niece). It's pretty cozy, warm almost — the fact that it's set up in a tea farm kind of reminds me of the manga "sweat and soap" which I really love.
Usually in manga, the lead that I might not like is the female lead (a lot of the times she is not well written and it's a bummer). In this manga, it's the male lead that I don't quite like. I understand that he's supposed to be unfriendly, but sometimes it feels like it's too much. He's so unfriendly and yet she falls for him so quickly after sharing like two cute moments together?? I don't get it.
There is also a potential second male lead — and he's just a childhood friend of the female lead that likes to flirt with her a lot even though she's 'married'.
Another thing is the ex-fiance plotline. The whole reason that the female lead came back to her family tea farm was that she could escape her obsessive fiance (who is now her ex) because he wanted her to quit her job and stay at home and be a housewife. They showed him once after she moved back on the farm and then never again?? like he just gave up?
I'll keep reading this manga because I'm invested, though.

I have read through volume 10 of this manga, so this review is my overall feelings about the series.
Chako, tired of men and escaping her lunatic fiance, moves back to her hometown to stay at her family's tea farm. But when she gets there she discovers Isshin, the brusk worker her brother has wired to take care of the tea leaves while he himself focuses on writing.
Matcha Made in Heaven toes the line of being educational, but doesn't quite cross over. There's a lot about the process of making tea here, but not any in depth information really. It's more a romance novel with a side of the Japanese tea industry. The main couple is Chako and Isshin who pretend to be married to ward off people in their lives (stalker ex-fiance for Chako and all the neighborhood grandmas looking to set him up for Isshin.) Chako and Isshin really *really* struggle with communication, but the romance itself is cute.
The overall slower pacing and less than emotionally mature characters is probably a turn off for lots of people, but I enjoyed it.

I liked this volume more than the first! The beginning was a little dull and silly when they were at the fair, and I hated how often Chako's brother put Chako down for her actions. It isn't fun to read. But I found the bathhouse scenes genuinely fun. I especially appreciate where the story is headed with our main character taking on more of a marketing and business partnerships role for the tea business. It seems to fit her skills well. I'm still not sold on Isshin. I assume we will find out his grumpiness is hiding admiration and affection, but I want to see more cracks in his facade already. It's why the bathhouse scenes worked so well for me.

Again, Futaba-chan's cuteness is too much for me to take! She's a charming child, and it weakens me. I find it heartbreaking to think that a child needing more attention has behaved maturely and understandingly for her age.
It still bothers me that her father doesn't seem to be concerned about his daughter. Thankfully, Futaba-chan is closer to Isshin and shares a special bond with him. The fact that Chako is now taking care of Futaba makes me pleased.
On the other hand, even though their connection doesn't develop all that much, Chako is now clear about her feelings for Isshin. Still, Isshin needs to get over his cool demeanor.

This volume is so much better than the first one. I’m so curious about what will happen in the next volumes. But i’m gonna stop reading for now. It’ll be bad for my eyes if i kept reading, cause i was reading mangas for hours and i have to finish a book soon.

Ce deuxième tome m’a complètement captivée, je l’ai adoré du début à la fin. Je suis toujours aussi fan de Futaba, et la relation qui commence à se tisser entre Isshin et Chako est vraiment fascinante. C’est tellement attrayant que j’ai hâte de me plonger dans le prochain tome ! 😍

*3.8. A very solid volume. Loved seeing the small progress made in terms of the romance. I also liked seeing the female main character grow and slowly learn more about tea. The last couple of pages surprised me so I definitely can’t wait to see how the story unfolds in the next volume.
